Overview

A very useful bush from Desnind where it is a common sight. Used in cooking and poisons, this bush grows like a weed when allowed to and the forest floors around Desnind are a beautiful sight when it is blossoming.

Location

This is a common plant, bordering on a weed and, as such, it is freely available throughout Desnind. It should be noted, however, that it only flowers in the season of Ymiden.

Appearance

A strange bush which grows up to six feet at its most established. Rather like ivy in its way of growing, it also tends to spread on the forest floor and grows to varying heights, not ever being uniform.
The stems of this bush are only a few inches thick and the flowers are very small, roughly the size of a buttercup. They look rather buttercup-like, also, especially at the edges where they are a deep yellow. In the middle of the flower is a small red berry.

Properties

• The Berries The small berries have a wonderful, fresh taste. This small red, rich, tangy and sweet healthy fruit is like a taste of the tropics, often used with it's zany and bizarre taste to help bring out the flavour in simple dishes. This tiny fruit looks almost like a bead and is usually used in large quantities when cooking. Dried, can be kept all arc around
• Common Uses Adding flavour to dishes, making juices, jams and sugars.




• The Leaves The leaves are poisonous upon consumption, causing fever, headaches and dizziness. They can be lethal in high doses, but they would need an inordinate amount. However, just one leaf is enough to cause unpleasant symptoms, so careful preparation is required.
• Common Uses Poisoning others, bad cooking

Availability

Easily available. This plant grows throughout Desnind and its surrounding areas. It can be picked with Novice Gardening. In order to utilize the leaves correctly, at least competent Poisons is required.

Other Information

Since it only blossoms during the season named after him, this is often called Ymiden's flower. Some say that Moseke gifted this flower to him, but why is not clear.
