Dreamwalking wiki
Can dreamwalkers enter the dreamscape of someone who is awake and therefore not present in their own dreamscape, if there is a preexisting bond for that dreamwalker to follow?
Since dragons are so wholly removed from Emea that not even domain magic can affect them, what might a dreamwalker find when entering the dreams of a drone under waking control of the hive mind? Is their dream-self also under control of the hive mind while inside Emea?
Are there noticeable differences in the dreamscape of a hive drone compared to a free person, to the point a dreamwalker can tell who is and isn’t under control of the hive mind?
Can a mage flay Emeyan beings, provided they are sentient?
Can a Becomer use the Feed technique on Emeyan beings, provided their form has a liquid substance to consume?
Hello, I think I've had enough time to consider these questions to accurately answer them. Although granted, another mod may well come in and have a slightly different opinion on them, I'm fairly confident in my reasoning.
1. Dreamwalkers in non-dreaming dreamscapes ~ No, Dreamscapes are not accessible to dreamers while the one they belong to is awake. They would have to be dreaming in order for you to visit them. I cannot cite lore reasons for this, but for the purposes of balance in Dreamwalking as a power set, it would be too easy to attack a waking dreamer psychically by entering their dreamscape and messing everything up. As it stands, lucid dreamers can make a non-dreamwalker lucid in various ways, and then kill them. And that's powerful enough, if risky. So no, no invasion of dreamscapes unless the dreamer is asleep.
2. Hive Mind in Emea ~ Caveat on Hive answers: Hive Mind members is not settled lore yet, and this may be adjusted as they come out. But as the description on the development of them stands, I can answer. Hive mind members are indistinguishable from ordinary people, they talk the same, act the same, and presumably think the same too. The only difference is a deep seated loyalty to artere and unity with each other. This doesn't manifest in a meaningful way to where they can be identified either outside or inside Emea.
3. Nope, following from the previous answer, I think this would be similar. The first clue you get to whether someone is a Hive Mind member, is if they abduct or lure you to get converted, at the point of conversion. And depending on how capable/useful the Hive member is, they'll be more or less sneaky and cunning about it. A Hive member that is low-functioning may find themselves getting recycled early by the Gestalt.
4. No, Emeyans have no soul therefore there's no way to flay. There used to be specialized flaying methods that allowed you to flay various aspects of reality and unreality, but those have long been retired since Emea reopened. Wells can be flayed, but they need to be liberated from the item or Emeyan being they're attached to (if there's a well attached) before you can do so.
5. This seems like a fafo question, but I'll answer it as best I can. One can certainly try to use that becoming technique on an Emeyan, but the way ether flows in the technique would be quite dangerous for the Becomer. They may find the Emeyan entering them physically through the life-force, and making them explode from within, poisoning their soul, causing deadly corruptions, or something equally grisly. Magic under almost all circumstances in Emea is not safe. Dreamscapes are perhaps a little less dangerous, but it's essentially like hiding a cut of juicy meat from a bear in a soggy paper tent. That kind of safety. More imagined than real.
