FLIGHT OF THE DRAGONS

No announcement here, but rather a discussion. See, as Dragon development proceeds, it was decided that it would be a good idea to see what sort of themes you all might want to see out of a Dragon. By theme, I mean what kind of Dragon you want and what the branches might be, take a look at the existing Dragons if you wanna see what I mean.

Now, I want to stress, no guarantees are made that any suggested themes will be used, but we do want to see your ideas regardless. Post them here and we can have a grand ole time talking about them.

OK, so idea one...

This is just a brain dump type of write up to demonstrate the concept. I'm not entirely happy with it, but the concept is some kind of smake dragon. They might be spirits I suppose? But could simply be heavily magical and capable of taking smoke form(s).

Blurb

Have you ever seen shapes in the smoke of a fire? A hand, a face, a serpent ... There is every chance, in the depths of night, as you dozed off to the burning of the campfire, that out of the corner of your eye, the whisps of smoke that you lay and watched were watching you back.

This dragon is evasive to the extreme and drawn to intrigue. It gathers secrets and fools the unwary across Idalos for little reason beyond 'because it can'.

Rumoured to be involved with Audrae, gathering secrets from the deepest darkest corners of idalos, it trades on these secrets, usually for the life and/or safety of the individual with said secret. It is a rare individual that gets a deal out of Fumus that truly falls in their own favour.

Powers

Powers based on Smoke, Illusion, Subterfuge, Mirrors, etc.

Can take phisicle form at will.

Can change size at will (from anything between it's larges and smallest forms, whatever it was most appropriate for these to be).

Meitriazh is a meddlesome and morally gray character. On the one hand, she believes in free-exchange of ideas and information. Even ideas and information that can cause damage. To her, there's no greater pursuit than the Truth for the truth's sake, and communicating it for all to hear. On the other hand, she believes that nobody has a right to privacy, and will gladly share information that is held as privileged.

Some may see her as a villain, sharing state secrets with those who would seek to exploit it. Others may see her as a hero, exposing corruption where it dwells.

Meitriazh sees herself as simply one who values the Truth as the Light reveals it. She almost has no opinion of the secrets she exposes.

Danaokh had a special relationship with Fei, and was privy to many of her experiments in the waters of Pyke. When Fei fractured, and Chrien lost her mind, Danaokh turned her eyes away from the land within the barriers, and swam beyond them, far from the interference and wars of the Immortals.

Danaokh was said to have birthed the Leviathans that many Mer now follow. However, none have had a chance to ask Danaokh herself.

Lithraldr doesn't typically involve himself in the affairs and doings of mortals insofar as the structure of things isn't upset or shaped in a way that goes askew of his designs. It has lain in slumber for many centuries and eras, and will probably remain so until something occurs to upset the very bones of the inner world.

Yona is one draconic soul in two bodies, effectively. At turns mischeivous and meddlesome, they often exist in tandem with each other, and in such instances is the only safe time to interact with them. Finding any one of the draconic bodies on its own is a sign of great misfortune and disaster, and will often lead to horrible cataclysms. As such, they've been bound to share the same space within the Iulure Isles by Luesco, in order to avoid disastrous results for the world.

It is rumored among some draconic scholars that their mischievous and meddlesome nature may have had some part in inciting the Original's war, or opening the way for the Originals in the first place.

Ghalanax. The Living Edict.
Law (Rules, Judgement), Order (Structure, Control), Authority and Corruption.

Ghalanax exists as the solution to a problem. A natural answer to a great equation. She was born blind, and smaller than many of her kin, and this led to her separating herself from the affairs of many of her draconic kin in favour of seeking mortals instead. To them, however, she is less a guiding hand and more of a stern taskmaster. A dispassionate arbiter of affairs that does no more and no less than her words, and an absolute authority bordering on that of a tyrannical psychopath, hidden behind a clever mask of bureaucratic authority and democratic permission.

	Luhtavhi	The Hooded Dragon, the Insignificant, the Harbinger of Fortune, Lord of the Lost	Luck (Good, and Bad), Disguise (Anonymity, Impersonation), Poverty, Loss.	Seeking treasure where it is hoarded, in order to eat it and grow in power..

Luhtavhi is a capricious and hungry dragon. While diametrically opposed to Drathaidir (she cannot stand Luhtavhi) she cannot deny that his sense for finding hidden treasures makes it easier to recover them. This would make them a dream team, were it not for the fact that Luhtavhi physically eats treasure in order to grow in power.

Okshalzi is one of the more cantankerous and destructive of dragons. They oppose the rewewal and growth of Vindecaldra, and also the proving of strength represented by Vielkrontier. He prefers to linger in the remnants of elder civilizations, on the cusp of collapse or in ruin.
