Overview
Around the outskirts of The Untold lies Santa Maledicia: the Cursed Parade. Despite being the Immortal Domain of a comparatively young Immortal, Tio, Santa Maledicia is surprisingly vibrant. It appears as a small town of cramped but homely stone houses, all decorated to the extreme with a wide array of lanterns and colourful flags. It is always night time, although the huge full moon in the sky shines with bright silver light to keep it well illuminated, and the sky is filled with enormous floating skulls of all different shapes that are painted with zany, multicoloured patterns. The night is always pleasantly cool and filled with upbeat, catchy music. Stalls dotted randomly throughout the town offer free light snacks and drinks, yet they are all made of strange mixtures of ingredients that the vast majority of mortals would not like, such as swordfish and pineapple chocolates or caramelised spaghetti.
Calamity Square
The centre of Santa Maledicia is Calamity Square; where the party is at its liveliest. Here the music is so loud you can barely hear the person next to you talk, and the residents of Santa Maledica parade around manipulating gigantic puppets of dragons, skeletons and all manner of other mythical creatures. If a mortal dances with one of the curse avatars there and is able to impress them enough they might just earn themselves a kiss, which when they return to reality will grant them a cursed power: one that is simultaneously beneficial and harmful to the user.
The Jinx Club
The Jinx Club is Tio's palace. Inside the atmosphere is far more refined, with the noise of the carnival outside muted by gentle piano music and the curse avatars dressed in more formal clothing. The atmosphere is thick with cigarette smoke, and the residents entertain themselves by gambling at the various tables dotted around them room or watching one of the performers who take the stage. Mortals may also perform on the stage, and if they impress the crowd enough may be rewarded with a unique item. At the gambling tables mortals may create chips from thin air, each representing a day's worth of luck, to gamble with. At the end of their gambling session each additional chip they walk away with will grant them a full day in which they receive a minor increase in luck. Should they loose more chips than they win however then for each one they will find that minor misfortunes befall them for a full day.
The Curse Avatars
It seems perhaps strange that Tio’s domain is so crowded despite the fact that he’s only ever had a handful of followers, however there is in fact a reason behind this. Tio sees curses as more than just negative effects but as beings with their own defined beauty and purpose, and within his realm that mindset is reflected. For every distinct type of curse that has ever existed in Idalos; including those granted by Immortals, spirits, the odd mage or anything else; there is a physical avatar representing that curse within Santa Maledicia. These avatars assume roughly humanoid forms and are all capable of conversing with anyone who enters Tio’s realm in their native language, but all appear bizarre or even downright monstrous. Despite their appearance however they have distinct personalities and are usually friendly and welcoming; after all they reside within an eternal party, and as such are always in high spirits.They can often be found singing, dancing, indulging merrily in the disgusting food or just talking animatedly to one another. Anyone who bears a curse will find the avatar of it drawn to them.
Access
Due to being the domain of a younger Immortal, Santa Maledicia is far less secure than other Immortal domains and can be accessed fairly easily. Any marked follower of Tio at any level can enter Santa Maledicia at will.
Anyone who bears a curse can also enter Santa Maledicia, usually by accident. They may feel their curse pulling them towards small caves scattered all around the world when they are close by, which will physically take them into Tio's realm. To any non-cursed however these are just regular caves.
When Red Moon's Night occurs in reality the full moon in Santa Maledicia also turns the same blood red. Anyone who flies towards the red moon in reality will find themselves transported to Santa Maledicia, just as anyone in Santa Maledicia who flies towards it will return to reality.
All others require a moderated thread or a thread with Tio to access.
