Oooh poor Jinyel, so beaten down and punched up. It's really a lucky thing he has the gift of Graft, to help him heal most of his physical woes and injuries.

The confusion after being transported halfway across the world was well described and executed, and certainly must have been confusing for poor Jinyel. I thought it was amusing that he mistook Almund for Almond.

The realization, eventually, and inference that Jinyel made that Vex would be able to spy through his own eyes was a clever tension-building moment. I do wonder though, what precisely Vex was up to while Jinyel fled into the forest with Sade? Did he manage to rearm himself, I wonder?

At any rate, Jinyel was wise to avoid civilization, as those landmarks would have been easier for the Avriel to identify, than trees and river-streams.

This is my first Sade thread that I read. I really like the way you opened up the story with Sade's petty thievery, and getting subsequently kicked out for trying to palm a necklace that got caught in someone's hair. Consequently, I would've included larceny as one of the skills used here, but it was only a small part of the thread.

Otherwise, Sade seems like a nice enough guy, helping out a stranger like that. I do wonder what prompted him to help Jinyel, other than curiosity. In the end, though, perhaps that curiosity will pay dividends, who knows? A mage is a useful person to befriend, afterall, but also risky.
