When they came back, they were both shocked to see the ring was done. They had gone out to eat and had shopped a little. “Time really flew,” Lumina said as she strode over to the ring and picked it up. She held it up to the light and continued, “only thing left to do is test it. Let’s go.”
Luvi was proud of everyone involved. They’d actually done it – they’d made an ensorcelled item!.
It was surprising how quick Lumina could move when she was in a hurry. By the time they made it outside of the city and to a safe, open space, Lumina was out of breath. “Here, you try first. All you have to do is concentrate on the ring to activate it.”
Luvi slipped the ring onto her left forefinger which fit perfectly. She held it out to the side, away from Lumina, then narrowed her brows. “Alright, I’m focusing… now wha…?”
The ring suddenly started to spew a small stream of flames out of a small indentation in the ring’s design that was supposed to be where a gem was normally supposed to be inlaid. It was the only oddly shaped part of the ring, so it made sense that it was where the ether would flow from. The stream itself wasn’t that large, only a yard long, but probably intense enough to set something flammable on fire. The fire kept going for a handful of seconds then slowly died out.
Success!
