Re: Sweetsong

As per the quoted post below:

This would be: "A thread where the settlement engages in a long-term viable trade with another settlement or a town / city | Reward +5 WP per cycle OR seasonal access to 1 (where NPCs are used) or more (when it's collab / PC to PC) resources from the other settlement (agreement of resource between both settlements) - resources must be identified at cycle change, when it might change. This must have at least 1 IC thread or letter per year in order for rewards to maintain""

Sweetsong will give to Hopetoun: Foodstuff (meat and fruits and stuff) and Blue Sand / Blue sand glass.
Sweetsong will get from Hopetoun: Faldrass potato and Faldrass sand.

Brief description of thread: Darius and the Hopetounians come to Sweetsong and help Vega set up things. They help out and Vega and Darius agree a mutually beneficial exchange!
Survival Skill (Hunting) Used (What Level if so): Nope.
Survival Skill Knowledge Claimed? :None.
Focus Skill Used (What level if so): Darius: Fieldcraft (Competent), Vega: Fieldcraft (GM)
Focus Skill Knowledge Claimed? (How many): 1
Settlement Resources Used: ?
  • They're getting started so it's NPCs etc.
Intended Changes:See this guide.
    • +2 Order: The player completes an action that directly solves a problem the settlement is experiencing. (Does not stack with the above action.) I think it's solving the problem of "we have no contacts and no one to trade with - but if not, then, I'd claim +1 please
    • I'm not 100% sure what the trade and exchange of information counts as. Closest I can come to is: The player discovers a way to process a primary resource their settlement collects into a useful item, and instructs settlers on how to make it themselves. (+20 WP + Resources) although it might also be: The player sets up a useful service in their settlement, such as a bank or insurance broker, and instructs settlers on how to run this service themselves..

What we are looking to do is to share resources - things like Faldrass Potato and Faldrass Sand from Hopetoun being sent to Sweetsong, with things like Jade, Blue Sand and the other resources that we have in Sweetsong (which will grow sas more things happen / the more the settlement develops) - Darius and I will agree which two resources we get from each other each season (so 4 a cycle) and post them in the tracker for evidence / records
     ! Message from: Winston
    Rewards issued:
    • +1 Order (from 70 -> 71): The player completes an action that proves they are trustworthy to the settlers (see note below, sorry it's not +2).
    • Permanent Resource Exchange between settlements (Pending feedback) ~ Please updated this post with the initial resource exchange agreement that is being initiated so I can take that as the starting exchange to put into the Settlement details.
    Notes:
    • As noted over DM: My interpretation of this is that for this to 'directly solve a problem', there must be an illustratable need that is not being met within the settlement. As until you posted this trade proposal, I was not aware that Sweetsonge was NOT self-sufficient and a happy bunch of loaners ticking along by themselves :-p and so while beneficial for sure for new ventures, without something to act as evidence that people are genuinely facing a problem due to the lack of something being obtained here, it does not meet that criteria. *hugs*
    • This is still pending the provision of the agreed resource exchange for this update to take affect fully.

Done!

Congrats, I have updated the settlement details, listing the Potatoes and Faldras Red Sand for you under your incoming trade goods.

I also added a trade route section to help track what routes you currently have active in general.

(Bear Meat) She already has the "organised hunts" etc - and the capstones sustainable huntingVega has learned the arts of hunting and has perfected it to the point where she can hunt and not deplete the numbers of prey. As long as she has time to plan and work together, this extends to those she is hunting with, also - even if they hunt in a single area for an extended length of time, Vega can do so in such a way that animal numbers maintain. If she has the time to work with others who are doing the same and they co-ordinate their efforts, this will impact those who work with her, too, and will mean that hunting around where she is currently living is sustainable indefinitely. , Maximum ResourceDue to the nature of Vega's hunting skill, she can get twice the usual amount of quarry from any single hunt. Sweetsong is now assumed to be hunting Baer from the area on an on-going basis.
Both Baer Meat & Pelt added to the primary resources for al long as the above is true.

    Your New Secret Plot:

    Some time had passed
since the traumatic events surrounding the loss of her father when there was a gentle cough from behind her as she went about her business.

As she turned, she found a collection of people, of loved ones, standing holding something in a cart.

Tovan stood at the front, his usual ticks and twitches betraying the nerves he felt as they all approached. Flo was the first to speak. "We have come to honour Jo'qan. We would like put something up in his name." She smile gently and a few of the other nodded in agreement.

Tovan burst in next, moving forward and back as he spoke. "A totem. To represent his skill, his strength. Toven will embue it with this sand..." He said, gesturing to what ended up being a small supply of warm Faldrass Sand in the cart. "...so that it will stand in all weather and brave the snows."

    Joy and Wren were there
and her oldest daughter clasped her hands together, not entirely sure whether she should be involved in this or not.

"We thought it... That he, would provide a strong foundation for a pole that can grow as Sweetsong continues to flourish." Suggested Flo, with a gentle voice, ever a mother figure in the community.

If Vega wished, they all would contribute in any way they could, gathering, building and refining something in the honour of her lost father in order to create something unique for their settlement that spoke to its people and its identity.

As you are not really producing anything for the settlement as such, this personal forge (IMO) probably just qualifies as something like the settlers seeing you setting up and establishing yourself:

- The player completes an action that proves they are trustworthy to the settlers.

    • Order from 78% to 81% ~ The player completes an action that directly protects the settlers from harm. (Does not stack with the above action.) +3 Order
    • Gilna 26 to 32 in Fieldcraft (I'm actually unsure what the window here is for progression, so please PM me if you feel this is not suitable as I know you have Expert Teaching, which I added +3 to the base of 3 for) ~ An City NPC in the settlement assists the settlement leader in a way that would lead to them developing a skill they possess. • 10% Protected population & Logistics +1 Competence when working as a group ~ Community Response to Danger: When faced with difficult or dangerous situations, the people of Sweetsong have grown used to working together and helping each other. As a result, uprooting and reforming to face most challenges become a logistically simpler as everyone works seamlessly toward the common goals.

Systematically this manifests in the following:
      • 10% Protected population ~ During general disasters and strife, the settlement tackles situations with high efficiency and an eye towards the 'common good'. This means that, even without direct intervention by others, up to 15% of settler population is protected from critical harm, and anything that doesn't rise above that threshold doesn't permanently affect it.

Note: This percentage can be increased as further measures are developed to tackle adversity.
      • Logistics +1 Competence when working as a group ~ Large sweeping changes, whether drawn out or unexpected, can be instituted as if the Logistics required to do so was a level lower.

I would like to suggest that this is as follows and is considered to be contributed to by all the events of Cylus (Snow and Pirates):

Community Response to Danger: When faced with difficult or dangerous situations, the people of Sweetsong have grown used to working together and helping each other. Thread: PSF Ticket

Intended Changes:See this guide.
    • The player completes an action that would lead to a new cultural quirk, supernatural effect or other notable change to daily life, or aquires a grandmaster level skill or supernatural ability that would affect the day-to-day lives of their settlers. (Note: This must be a skill, capstone or magical ability that would enable the player to be a better leader, such as leadership or intelligence. Skills that improve the player but not their settlers, such as strength or smithing, should not be applied for unless they provide a capstone relevant to the settlement. When applying for this reward the player should suggest what effect they believe would be appropriate.)
    Vega has just gained:
    >>> With this power, either the Bearer or their Scaripteil can emit a restorative aura that allows anyone within five feet to recover their stamina and heal their wounds. This aura works slowly, but it helps to take the edge off exhaustion and injury, allowing both to be more easily and properly treated later. This power recovers stamina as though the people in the aura's range had stopped to catch their breath for a moment, and as if they had applied a poultice to an injury. <<<

Which is just going to be "on" all the time that she's home / in Sweetsong. So I guess the supernatural effect would be:

Feelin' Fine! There's something about being around Vega that means that those who are in close proximity to her just feel less tired, or a bit less injured. It's not a big thing, but it does mean that people are more efficient and that they heal just a little bit faster.

    Nice STUFF!

I have tweaked your request a little, as discussed. Her new powers are super short range, so I'm not sold on it simply being a settlement wide thing. Also, you already have a bunch of settlement wide things that make 'people are more efficient'. As such, I have added the following for you.

Feelin' Fine! There's something about being around Vega that means that those who are in close proximity to her just feel less tired, or a bit less injured. As a result, while Vega is in residence, she finds, for better or worse, that she is rarely ever alone or unable to call on a person for assistance as a reflex as people simply want to be close. Also minor sickness and injuries suffered by settlers heal more quickly with or without medical intervention as a result of her presence at the nightly feasts.
