[Skill] Leadership and the size of a following
So I was wondering, how many people can a competent leader lead while minimizing the threat of rebellion/mutiny? I was thinking for Competent it could be maybe 20 faceless npcs and a few named npcs before risking disgruntled followers, depending and shifting up or down of course on story and circumstances. Just wanted a ballpark, as I was thinking of getting a tallship or galleon, and don't wanna risk a mutiny on the first voyage

I think that this is SO dependent on the story that it's hard to quantify.Kalortah wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2020 10:51 pm So I was wondering, how many people can a competent leader lead while minimizing the threat of rebellion/mutiny? If those NPCs had been with your PC a year, had done well and made money etc etc - then the number would be much higher. I understand that doesn't help in terms of risking a mutiny - so here's how I'd look at it. Sailors have reputations - if you don't give them a reason to mutiny - then a competent leader is going to be just that - competent. Good enough to keep them there and happy. Will they slope off if they get a better deal? Yes. But will they mutiny for no reason? No - because if they did then people wouldn't hire them again. Loyalty takes time, I'd say.
Hope that answers it? Let me know
