Hellir Gofrith (Father)
Name: Hellir Gofrith (Lyklasson)
Race: Biqaj
Birthday/Age: Saun 10th, arc 665
Languages Spoken: Fluent: Common Basic: Rakahi
Skills:
Appearance/Biometrics: A graying old salt, who still has all of his limbs despite having survived many battles and arcs at sea. He stands at 6’4” with a muscular build despite his advancing age. His eyes are multi-colored like all biqaj, with colors that tend toward the colder spectrum and darker. He has a long and wiry beard, which hangs below his neckline. His scalp is balding, which he keeps close shaven anyway, as he cannot abide half-measures. He prefers the colors of House Gofrith in his dress, which often tends toward the practical leathers and suede.
Personality: A grump of an old sailing captain. Hellir attempts to command his family with an iron fist, treating them as he had his crew during his long and storied career as a Mervarian. He is imminently ambitious, always looking to further the cause of the house he was adopted into as a marriage partner to Katlathe Gofrith. He’s loyal to Jarl Jerith to a fault, and has gotten a reputation as a sort of attack dog for the Jarl, a role which he’s more than happy to fill. Unfortunately, this puts him often at a collision course with his wife, the blooded Gofrith of the pair, Katlathe. Some odd rumors swirl about him, that he might prefer the Jarl’s company to that of his own wife. However, nobody has had the courage to call him on this rumor, as he’s been known to put servants in stocks for lesser offenses.
Backstory: He rose to prominence in the Ragnari of Melrath, becoming a sea captain of the Mervarians with his own ship to command. He was a harsh captain, earning much in the way of victory for the good of Melrath during his long years of service. Although his crew more often than not was driven to the point of hating him, they all respected the results he produced. He commanded mainly by fear and dread, dread that was felt whenever his banner was seen by pirates off the coast.
For his service, he was eventually elevated by marriage to nobility, by marrying into the House of Gofrith. Jarl Jerith Gofrith’s mother (when she was Jarl) arranged the marriage much to the chagrin of the hard-partying socialite Katlathe Gofrith, who was selected as his bride. Theirs was a marriage of convenience, out of which was produced a set of twins, much to the relief of Kathlathe and it’s rumored Hellir, as the two were entirely incapable of tolerating each others’ company.
Their marriage, while marked by personal strife between the two, has been largely peaceful given the distance husband and wife have the sense to avail each other. Their children were raised mainly by servants, and tutored by their aunt Annafried Gofrith after coming of age. In so far as the children would allow such tutelage, anyway.

Katlathe Gofrith (Mother)
Name: Katlathe Gofrith
Race: Biqaj
Birthday/Age: Zi’Da 72nd 681
Languages Spoken: Fluent: Common Basic: Rakahi
Skills:
Appearance/Biometrics: A beautiful and vivacious woman who plays her natural allure to the advantage of every situation. She has a modest figure, dark brown hair, and multi-colored eyes like most pure-blooded biqaj. She stands at 5’9” tall, with a modest build. She has an aquiline nose. She often and always wears the most resplendant of embla and cosmetics, perfectly positioning her hair and planning her own outfits to the advantage of any social situation. She prefers the color gold.
Personality: A person who prefers the good things in life, a true Raelian socialite was Kathlathe, who is cousin to Jerith Gofrith. What time isn’t spent in one social function or another, it spent carousing with a sizeable entourage which have attached themselves one after the other to her through the years. She supports them on her generous allowance, granting them a lifestyle that renders them ensnared to her whims.
She drinks heavily, and it takes quite effort for her to even get drunk. Nonetheless, she always finds a way to manage by the end of each night. She’s an angry drunk, and becomes a terror when heavily inebriated. These rages are feared to the point where her husband Hellir, a hardened and dreaded former sea captain will go out of his way to excuse himself from her warpath when she’s in a rage.
She spends much of her time not drinking in gambling with her friends and well—wishers. Trading rumors, gossip, and secrets.
Backstory: A socialite that grew into privilege from a young age. She takes her position as a Gofrith for granted, using privilege and wealth by playing those advantages to the hilt in her own favor. Yet, for all the cajoling and scheming she’s capable of, it took only a night of ill-advised passion with the sea captain Hellir Lyklasson to land her in a position where she was obliged to marry him, to avoid scandal.
The Jarl of Gofrith at the time forced them into marriage with each other, making it seem for all the world like an arrangement. From their brief night of passion, twins were eventually born; Shelly and Lykla Gofrith, a girl and a boy.
Katlathe was barely a mother to them, spending more time in her social circles and in scheming gossip with her contacs than raising them. Afterall, that’s what the servants were for.

Scrimshaw Jinks
Name: Scrimshaw Jinks
Race: Mer (Category 1)
Birthday/Age: Ymiden 23rd, arc 684
Languages Spoken: Fluent: Common Basic: Common Sign
Skills:
Appearance/Biometrics: He stands rather short at 5’3” in his land-form, which he keeps while maintaining the kitchen of Gofrith. A fresh water mer, he requires regular trips to the Vynmur River in order to replenish his health. Thus far his service hasn’t seen him decline in health as much as some of his kind might’ve. Although there are tell-tale signs of dry scales on his lower body, which indicates too much time spent above the surface. His eyes are green, and his scaley flesh is mostly a gray-violet. He wears his head-tentacles in braids around his neck.
Personality: A Dwynmer chef with a cold and calculating demeanor, he approaches people with the same cunning and efficient severity as the fish he makes his living cutting up and serving as Rhianshi. He doesn’t like passing the time in niceties but serves his house to the letter of their command. He doesn’t enjoy disruptions to the ‘plan’ for the day. Special requests are frowned upon but begrudgingly and sometimes maliciously returned with at least some slight alteration to the request made by a house member. He’s sharp and laconic, but rigid in his adherence to an orderly kitchen.
Backstory: The Dwynmer chef got his name from his time served as a Mervarian under Hellir Lyklasson, now Hellir Gofrith. His fellow sailors called him Scrimshaw Jinks because of the swiftness with which he fileted the bones from the fish they dredged out of the sea. He was part of the dowry to acquire the hand of Katlathe, as the then Jarl of Gofrith requested that he transfer the mer’s contract tto their House upon marriage, to become the House’s chief chef.
From there, he spent much of the next couple decades serving as the House chef, providing them with a steady selection of the finest Rhianshi cuisine.

Kiljan Eivinsson
Name: Kiljan Bindle
Race: Human
Birthday/Age: Zi'Da 53rd, arc 654
Languages Spoken: Fluent: Common Basic: Ancient Language
Faction: Melrathi Aesir (Loremasters)
Skills:
Personality: Although he's rarely known to travel beyond the walls of cities without a suitable detachment of watchers and protectors on the way, he has much in the way of knowledge of the hidden places in Melrath. Places less spoken of, and stories to tell of almost every feature he could identify on a map. Although he is often accompanied by protectors of various sorts, he knows his way exceptionally well through Melrath, having studied its geography extensively.
He is rumored to know the location of several Runic Grottos, although he hasn't found a student or initiate yet that he's willing to impart their location to. He's one of the foremost experts on runic magic in Melrath, having reached mastery of the Lucis dialect. He's a kindly old loremaster and mage, and that kindness extends to those who beg him to be initiated, who he more often turns away than not.
Relationship to Lykla: Lykla has met Kiljan several times in his past, and knows most of his more fascinating tales that he tells. He was the one who oversaw his Trial of the River, and saw Lykla successfully through it. As such they already will come with a baked in bond, that might make it more palatable for Kiljan to trust him with magic, and trust that he has what it takes to survive initiation. Even so, it will probably take some convincing on Lykla's part, as it's especially dangerous to initiate a noble person, given the consequences that would arrive upon their death or destruction as through failed initiation.
So Lykla will have an uphill battle trying to convince Kiljan Bindle.

Appearance/Biometrics: An older gentleman who wears the trappings of society more comfortably perhaps than some of his other Aesir bretheren. He is a loremaster, an so tends to spend more time than the druids or shaman among the cities of Melrath, in preference for them over the wilds. He has a long gray beard, and twinkling blue eyes, with a bit of pattern baldness around a skirt of hair around his head. He wears a floppy blue hat, a blue coat of merwool, with leather trousers and shiny brown boots. He also is often seen to carry not only a walking stick but also a stack of tomes and scrolls lashed to his shoulder by scroll cases and other satchels. Thus he's earned the name Kiljan Bindle for the baggage he carries from locale to locale, although he's rarely seen to travel beyond Raelia.
