exterior
Rovy has a broad frame, with strong muscles developed out of arcs of physical labour instead of any kind of formal training. He's naturally very pale, a few isolated freckles marking his skin, although time spent on the outside can add some color to his complexion. The Avriel blood has given his forearms and lower legs a blueish tint, with a few, very thin and almost imperceptible white lines that look more like scars than birth marks, and nails that are stronger and sharper than normal. His shoulder blades are slightly prominent and sharp, almost as if they were the beginning of wings that never really appeared. There are some small, reddish-brown feathers that grow around his ears, that he tries to keep hidden beneath black hair.
There's a certain impression of anxiety in his movements - one gesture following another as if Rovy couldn't quite keep still for more than a few seconds. While he's not expansive in his motions, there's indeed a sort of inquietude inside of him, a need of action and movement that he often tries to control, but that still leaks in some perceptible ways. In contrast, his voice carries a deep calm with it - if his movements sometimes lack definite purpose, his words are more often than not carefully chosen. Regardless, every emotion felt bleeds through him in small tells, even if he makes an effort to hide them. Rovy often looks away from others, never staring at their face, instead searching something else to place his attention even during personal conversations. This is more an habit picked up out of a necessity - to try to hide the white inside his brown eyes, another tell of his Avriel heritage -, than out of any kind of shyness. In fact, his straightforward nature can make this look like a lack of interest or contempt, although this couldn't be farther from the truth.
When it comes to sense of fashion, Rovy has none. Clothes are nothing but a practical tool to keep him warm and hide the oddities of his body from others. While he takes care of himself, he couldn't care less whether or not he is wearing mismatched colors or plain black, fancy clothes or rags, as long as the clothes are clean and serve their purpose, he is happy.
Life has, as it often does, left his marks on him. On his right shoulder, three deep scars on the shape of claw marks rest, courtesy of his time in the wild. After particularly long and tense days, the scars often hurt with a soft pain that can grow worst if he doesn't take time to rest. Since this isn't really something that comes easily to him, more often than not Rovy just tries to ignore the pain. There are small, scratch marks on the left side of his neck, too small and often covered behind his hair to be easily seen, but still there, nonetheless. When he's tense and anxious, he tends to scratch his neck, a nervous habit he still can't break himself out of. On both his forearms, burn scars form a complicated design of lines of slightly rough and reddish skin. Those scars, results of his Aukari heritage, bring feelings of shame and fear inside of him, and so, he always keep them covered and away from prying eyes - both others and his own. More fondly remembered, though, is the thin and almost imperceptible line on his right knee, a physical memory of his childhood and his siblings.
interior
Facts, sensations, experiences. That's how Rovy sees the world. He's practical, in the sense that he sees everything in terms of what it is and what it isn't, and can get quickly frustrated with speculations and theories that cannot be applied in a concrete way. That's not to say, however, that he sees the world in black and white - in fact, Rovy is very aware of the murky waters of actions and feelings, and that there's always a complex reason behind what's happening. He just doesn't see much sense in speculate what said reason is - if it can be verified, then it can be used. If not, then it's useless to dwell on what ifs and maybes.
The way he experiences things around him, though, are often tinted by emotion. He can, under certain circumstances, put some distance between himself and the problem, specially if in something pertaining to his work, but when in regards to his personal life and relationships, Rovy understands the world through lenses of emotion. If something feels good, then it simply does, and he often doesn't ask the inherent morality of things. When something turns bad, then he simply turns his back at it and move on, without dwelling on past mistakes. Because of that, Rovy is extremely accepting of other's viewpoints and beliefs, trusting that some truths are different for each person. There is, however, a hard drawn line to him - consent. To force one will upon another, in any way, and to inflict harm stir something inside him, and he shows his displeasure with an anger and vehemence that's quite different from how he usually express his own beliefs.
While accepting of others principles, Rovy hardly ever changes his own. He sticks to them, allowing other people to sticking with theirs, usually without judgment. Even so, there's always an underlying self-doubt regarding the value of his own actions, and harsh criticism can make him lash out in anger without really thinking. Negative emotions are often hard for him to deal with, and one can lead to another, until he drives himself in a pit. Due to this, Rovy often tries to dampen down any emotion he considers negative, choosing to ignore it instead of dealing with it. This can make himself feel lacking, something he tries to compensate by trying to constantly improving himself.
Everything he feels, he feels intensely, and this can leave him exhausted at times. It's not rare for him to need to withdraw, be alone with only his own thoughts for company after lengthy or intense interactions. Constant shifts of attention can also tire him incredible quickly, and, because of that, Rovy often focus on a single task at a time. He can multitask if needed, but he finds it relaxing to be able to put all of his attention on a job, even if only for a short amount of time. It's, however, quite easy to him to lose interest in a task and move forward to another. He has discipline enough to stick with something he knows it's important, but, if he can't find a compelling enough reason to keep going, he doesn't wait for it to get better or to improve before moving on.
All in all, Rovy is a mix of fluidity and intensity, of pouring all his heart on something and repressing anything he disagrees with inside himself. There are very few things on the past that keeps nagging on his mind, and they are often related to his own shortcomings and mistakes rather than with a sense of unfinished duty, or the mistakes of others.
faith
Faith, to Rovy, much like his principles, doesn't need to be advertised or even shared. He believes in what he believes in, and that's all that matters to him. In his eyes, the Immortals are entitled to their ways and their believes much like mortals are. As such, Rovy never felt the need to study or dedicate himself to a religion, although he isn't completely uninterested in the subject. Usually, he respects those Immortals that take an interest in mortals' affair and take active part in them, and shies away from the more violent ones. A hard set of rules or rituals to follow, though, is far from his style, and more often than not he does not see the purpose of dedicating anything to Immortals, although he might pay respects and gratitude to those he particularly likes.
His childhood in a Biqaj family has stirred in him a loose devotion towards U'frek. Even now, Rovy nurtures a deep respect towards the Immortal, and while he doesn't consider himself a practitioner of the Siera'ja in any shape or form, there are still some believes he shares with it. Rovy has a mixture of respect and fondness for water, feeling more at home in a boat than in the land. It's not uncommon for him to offer a gesture of gratitude towards significant bodies of water as he passes by them. The Taj'thara is also a powerful date for him, and perhaps the only trial during which he'll actively reflect and dwell on the past.
