Name: The Raft
Invented By: Padraig & Faith Augustin
Brief Description: Created by Faith and Padraig Augustin, the Raft is a liquid which is applied to damaged skin. It has a number of advantages over traditional bandages:
1. The ingredients work to actively fight infection, thus continuing the medic's work once the Raft is applied.
2. It is semi -transparent, therefore allowing the medic to see the progress of a wound.
3. It is waterproof and, once applied, hardens to a rubber like consistency.
4. It is strong enough that, in smaller wounds, it can be used in the place of stitches.
It is made with purified sap, almond oil, dried celery powder and honey with a thickening agent - this might be oat gum or another emulsifier. Healing oils and other treatments can be included in the raft, but it must be remembered that each ingredient impacts how transparent it is. It is kept and stored in a jar and, once made, will remain good for roughly 6 months.
Availability of Information: this has been used in the Order of the Adunih in Scalvoris & Rharne. It was used extensively during the Scalvoris relief efforts, was in a caravan of things which were raided by Noth et al. Furthermore Faith has taught it to all her students and she and Padraig discussed it when a group of visiting Videnese scholars called by.

A Raft of Possibilities: Faith has an idea from a cooking technique to create a replacement to bandages which will have the added advantages of fighting off infection, drawing out any badness in the wound, reducing the risk of infection by being clean, airtight and are see=through so help identification of problems.

She's also used it in lots of healing threads,
example and stuff like that - but that's more of the same really. I believe Pad has also taught it to his students.
There is a thread where the Etzos Al'Angryl raid a caravan and they find samples of the Raft being sent from one Order of the Adunih to another. I was told about it in chat, and haven't seen the thread.
