Re: Standing Trials 3.2 Bug Report Thread.

Nature of bug: Bold not working still for me, possibly due to googlefonts
Does it happen on more than one account? Yes
Is it persistent or intermittent? Persistent on the fonts I have tried
Link to a post / thread where bug occurs: viewtopic.php?f=353&t=13377&p=91330#p91330

Not sure if it is with all googlefonts or not but I know it is definitely not working for either of these fonts: Noto Sans and Cormorant Garamond

Umm. It's working for me? I see bold on Firefox and Chrome. Could you clear your cache etc, and check again? Thanks!

Re: Standing Trials 3.2 Bug Report Thread.

Daily Update - Thursday

Hi all!!

Ok - so as far as I'm aware there are no new bugs! Today we've dealt with!
Tabs Need to have any colour-giving BB code taken out.
Images in Housing Sales That was an error our side - we've fixed it (needed to set the table width and column width)
Bold I think Lucas' issue is with his cache not clearing.
Auto-populate buttons - some of those (the buttons above the posting area) gave us "old" code. That's fixed now!
Tables, code and tabs seem to "auto" populate to 5px wider than the screen. has been fixed!
Size and Font Size has been dealt with - please read the update below

So far, we've dealt with:
We've got a Dark Theme and the Notes function - yay!
  1. Line spacing was strange in places. Fixed
  2. Some posts, whether in tables or spoilers were running over the page. Fixed.
  3. Signatures were running over the page. Fixed.
  4. Googlefonts are intermittently just not working. We're investigating this but it's well odd. If you are experiencing issues with googlefonts, please check that the name of the font is in Title Case (First Letter Of Every Word In Caps). If that doesn't fix it - watch this space. has been fixed!!! YAY!
  5. Log In Issues These should now be completely resolved. Please let us know if not!
  6. User CP Fields: Now work fine and can be edited.
  7. BB Code: Is working - if you find that you can't post bbcode, just check that the "disable BBCode" isn't ticked at the bottom of your screen.
  8. Medal was broken: Fixed!
  9. Links under avatar not functioning: Fixed!
  10. Center code not working outside style brags: Fixed!
  11. Topic attributes Fixed by Aegis who found the magic button!
  12. Registration issues - Fixed
  13. Line Breaks - Some posts weren't recognizing them. Now fixed!
  14. Topic Icons in Dark Theme - now works!
  15. Anchor Now works! - and is detailed how to use here!
  16. Search Now works
  17. Bold now works! See?
  18. Topic attributes not working for staff now dealt with
  19. Table code breaking googlefonts. now works
  20. Forgotten Password Email now works
  21. Table, Tabs & Code Size now doesn't create a horizontal scroll line on the screen and populates to smaller than the posting area!
  22. Size and Font Size has been dealt with - please read the update below
We are aware of / dealing with

No current bugs!!!!

Please keep reporting bugs - thank you so much for your patience and I hope that everyone is enjoying the new site! If there are any bugs I've missed, please let me know!! We rely on you reporting them :)

Re: Standing Trials 3.2 Bug Report Thread.

Update

Ok - so thank you so much to Quio for pointing out the issue with both size and font size.
Quio wrote: Tue Aug 14, 2018 6:12 pm
There are apparently two ways of sizing font on the forum now, FONT SIZE and SIZE (which was what we used on the old forum). I'm not sure if SIZE is still supposed to be working, but SIZE has a variety of sizes, from small to huge. Examples:

should be tiny
should be smaller
default font size
should be larger
should be huge

Code: Select all

[size=50]should be tiny[/size]
[size=70]should be smaller[/size]
default font size
[size=150]should be larger[/size]
[size=300]should be huge[/size]

As you can see, they all work.

The new FONT SIZE tag, however, only allows for fonts as small as 70-- and the FONT SIZE '70' is not as small as the SIZE '70'.
This means that using FONT SIZE, you can't really use small text. I'm not sure if this means the default text size for the forum is FONT SIZE '70', or if the smaller sizes just don't work.

As you can see, I'm not sure if this is a bug or just how SIZE and FONT SIZE are supposed to work. Are we supposed to even be using SIZE anymore? When the site switched over, the coding changed all the old posts from SIZE to FONT SIZE (which, to me, indicated that we should be using FONT SIZE). So I didn't know if both are supposed to be running, and if they are, if they're supposed to produce two different results.
Tech Support has given this answer. Hope it makes sense!
Tech Support wrote:Basically SIZE is a core PHPBB BBCode that we cannot change.

It has a bug, but I cannot CHANGE core BBCode. So I create a custom version under
which works better (because I can fix the bug in custom BBCodes).

So really I'd live to get rid or one or other, but we cannot without stuff not working properly.

The bug is that the SIZE BBCode uses <span> instead of <div> in it's code when it is converted for display in the posts.

This does not work in PHPBB when you put tables inside as you end up with them stray [/size] tags all over the place due (again) to a bug (I cannot fix because it's in Core) in PHPBB.

SO! :-p We should avoid using size really as it does not work well with other tags inside it, but font works fine and is way more flexible (also supports the font type of course and eventually things like color= if we want).
Therefore, please use FONT SIZE and do not use SIZE. Thanks!

Re: Standing Trials 3.2 Bug Report Thread.

I don't think I need to make a new report because Lucas already reported the bug, but bold does not work with googlefonts.
Examples:
Bold works with the forum's default font.

Code: Select all

[b]Bold works with the forum's default font.[/b]
But it doesn't work when applied to a googlefont.

No matter the googlefont.

As you can see.

Code: Select all

[googlefont=La Belle Aurore][b]But it doesn't work when applied to a googlefont.[/b][/googlefont]
[googlefont=Source Sans Pro][b]No matter the googlefont.[/b][/googlefont]
[googlefont=Anaheim][b]As you can see.[/b][/googlefont]

Re: Standing Trials 3.2 Bug Report Thread.

Nature of bug: Not sure if you would call this a bug, but because you said to use font size and not size, I thought I'd point it out. This dropdown menu here uses size, not font size.

Hi there!

I'm not sure what you're seeing, there, but to me on both Firefox and Chrome - these are different? Top one is bold, bottom one not.

But it doesn't work when applied to a googlefont.

Are you seeing differently? If so, as I put on Lucas' ticket - might be worth to clear your cache?

Yes, all of them were the same.

But, clearing the cache seemed to work. Thanks!
