NPCs
Name: Oleg Mednix (approved here))
Relationship to PC: Father (deceased)
Race: Human
Date of Birth: 20th trial of Vhalar, Arc 664
Date of Death: 15th trial of Vhalar, Arc 707
Skills: Hunting [56/100]; Fieldcraft [26/100]; Combat: Spear [18/100]
Appearance: 5’11”, stocky build, brown hair and beard. Numerous scars from old animal bites and scratches on his arms and hands, including one badly-chewed fingertip permanently missing a nail, plus one faint scratch mark on his face. Oram doesn’t clearly remember what color his father’s eyes were. Dark?
Personality: Quietly driven. Even-tempered but strict. Strong believer in “tough love” for both his sons. More sociable than Oram, but still loves his solo outings to the wilds. Lots of physical courage, willing to take substantial risks to safety when his children aren’t around. This willingness increased after his wife died.
Oleg taught Oram all of his skills, with the exception of trap-making; this Oram picked up from his brother Osric while the latter was learning smithing. Oleg often commented that both boys got their affinity for crafting things from their late mother. Unlike Osric, no one in town wanted to take Oram as an apprentice, so Oleg dedicated himself to teaching his younger son hunting and fishing skills instead, and the two regularly went out together while Osric stayed in Sclavoris with the masters he was apprenticed to.

Name: Osric Mednix (approved here), upgraded here; and again here.; and again here)
Relationship to PC: Older brother.
Race: Human
Date of Birth: 27th trial of Saun, Arc 690
Appearance: 5’8”, wiry of build. Both brothers took after their mother physically and neither inherited their father’s heavier frame. Dark red-brown hair like Oram’s but more fashionably-styled. Clean shaven, as his wife likes beards about as much as she likes her rough-necked brother-in-law.
Skills: Business Management [51/100]; Larceny [26/100]; Musical Instrument: Flute [10/100]; Smithing [55/100]; Swimming [11/100]; Engineering [51/100];
Personality: More driven and sociable than Oram, a bit like their father. Enjoys making music when he’s not working.
Osric and Oram share a wish to be closer, although several different circumstances conspire to thwart this, including the fact that Osric’s wife, Signy, doesn’t like Oram. Oram admires Osric and will sometimes come to him for advice, including pointers on making traps, which is one interest they have in common. Osric, for his part, thinks that Oram should settle down and try to lead a more stable existence as he has. He gives his younger brother unsolicited (and sometimes unwelcome) advice and criticism, sometimes quite bluntly, though always with love and respect. On the other hand, Osric still feels a whiff of resentment and jealousy stemming from his belief that their father loved Oram more than him.

Name: Amoach (uh-MOE-akhhh (approved here)
Relationship to PC: Diri bonded to him as a result of Fire Forged event.
Race: Diri
Date of Birth: N/A
Appearance: Perhaps to commemorate an event in Oram’s Fire-Forged adventure, Amoach typically takes a form of a miniature (housecat-sized) cooking tripod come to life, with glowing red eyes in the side of the pot and legs that articulate and work like those of a harvestman. The air immediately surrounding it seems to shimmer as if from intense heat, even though it radiates none. Although capable of levitating, Amoach prefers to manifest at or near ground level, compelling Oram to peer down at it whenever talking to it. Since the Saoire's Heroes event, the chain that suspends Amoach's cooking pot is crystal rather than iron. It glistens redly, as if reflecting light from a campfire.
Personality: Amoach is intense, dry, and dead serious. In spite of this and its sinister appearance, it is benevolent and even noble, sometimes chiding Oram for not being more so himself. Amoach likes to challenge Oram and push him out of his comfort zone, believing that this brings out the best in him. Amoach is astute and observant, and sometimes enjoys pointing out details about a situation that Oram missed. In doing this, it never reveals things outside the hunter’s ken or abilities, only things it feels he should have been able to pick up on.

Name: Signy Mednix, nee Costerer (approved here)
Created by: Oram Mednix
Race: Human
Birthday/Age: 16th Ashan 695
Relationship: Sister-in-law
Skills: Logistics: 26, Gardening: 26, Cooking: 26, Business Management: 26, Politics: 26, Dancing: 5, Singing: 5
Details: Signy is Oram’s sister-in-law, married to his older brother, Osric.
In the Oram continuity, Signy is a vain, difficult, pretentious townswoman who despises Oram and considers his presence in her family to be an embarrassing nuisance that she only puts up with out of pity for Osric.
In practically everybody else’s canon, she is a decent, grounded, and intelligent woman, as well as a devoted and loving wife who thinks nothing worse of Oram than that he is dull dinner company and in sore need of his own woman.
Her father is a merchant in town, and Signy has picked up some of his business acumen and sense of current affairs. She shares with Osric (and not with Oram) a love of music making, and will sing and dance while her husband plays the flute on cheerful evenings.

Name: Martins Ligavanis “Wig” (approved here)
Created by: Oram Mednix
Race: Human
Birthday/Age: 20 Ymiden 697
Relationship: Friend
Skills: Animal Husbandry: 26, Animal Training: 51, Mount:Equine: 26, Appraisal: 26, Resistance: 10
Details: Wig is Oram’s closest friend among the other single men in his traveler’s camp, albeit that Is a title he holds largely by default since most of Oram’s childhood friends have gotten married. Wig comes from a family of horse traders, and now does odd jobs working with horses on nearby farms. He used to have a job at the Menagerie (from where he managed to sell Mule to Oram), but lost it due to his periodic bouts of drunkenness and his generally casual attitude towards authority.
----------------------------------------------------
Name: Skai Rimgaard
Relationship to PC: Attendant/assistant
Race: Mixed race human/sev'ryn, takes more after human side.
Date of Birth: 50 Ashan 663
Appearance: 5'9" Burly, scruffy, and grey-haired. Has a slight limp in his left leg which he exaggerates when it's convenient for him. Always carries a stout knobbed blackthorn cane which he insists isn't a shillelagh.
Skills: Animal Husbandry[26/100]; Animal Training [26/100]; Logistics [26/100]; Woodworking [51/100]; Combat: Axes & Cudgels [26/100]; Fieldcraft [26/100].
Personality: Skai used to be a ranger like Oram. Then he took an axe-poll to the knee. He used to moonlight as a site supervisor for the Logging Consortium, but they booted him unceremoniously when he got injured. His vengeful snitching civic-minded reporting of illegal LC activities helped lead to the organization's downfall, and also helped secure him the pension he is convinced he deserves. He has agreed to help Oram by watching his property and his animals when the traveler is off doing hero things.
He is an unpleasant grump, but Oram doesn't mind him that much as long as he does his job, which is one of the reasons the two men get along. Because of his game leg, Skai rarely if ever travels, nor even leaves the property, unless necessary.

Name: Choir (awarded here)
Created by: Oram Mednix
Race: Element Wolf (Song)
Birthday/Age: ?
Relationship: Omega wolf familiar granted by Karem.
Details: Choir is a Song element wolf, gifted to Oram by Karem upon granting him the Pack Bond ability. He appears as an average-sized air element wolf, presenting a mostly-transparent outline, but with striking yellow eyes and gold flecks in his fur that resemble a cloud of fairies. Choir’s call sounds like a cold Cylus wind howling and whistling in the distance through Sweetwine trees; it sounds distant even if Choir is nearby. The call is highly musical, but also unsettling to those not used to it.
In spite of his eerie aspect, Choir is friendly, cheerful, and easy-going. He especially likes fairies, and will attempt to engage these in play upon encountering them.
Since the Saoire's Heroes event, he has a favorite toy: a cuckoo-shaped squeak toy that sounds just like the bird it represents. Choir won't stop squeaking it.
Note: Thanks to Pegasus for this wonderful image!
