Weather

Date Weather Notes
1-10
The return of the sun brings joy to many in Ne'haer, however, the weather is still icy, damp, and rainy. Over the course of several trials, the ice built up from Cylus is washed away, leaving the land soggy. The wind is ever constant, but as the days progress, the temperature starts to pick up from frigid cold, to tolerable.
11-18
There is a break in the weather, allowing the sun to breach through the grey clouds that hang over the city. The wind dies down but the temperature remains cool, light jacket weather. Treth enjoys a few trials of crisp and pleasant weather, but the nights remain very cold.
19-25
The temperature starts to rise from a slight chill to comfortable cool weather, warm enough to wear a shirt and pants without shivering up a storm.Throughout Ne’haer and the surrounding territories there is a sense of spring and rebirth. As the days pass, the weather slowly starts to warm and the trees begin to show buds of new life.
26-38
ϟ
In the beginning trials, a storm ravishes the land. Clouds roll remain after the storm, bringing more warmth to Ne'haer while the surrounding forest life blooms vibrantly alive. Night time brings some showers but mornings are crisp and the sight and scent of flowers heralds the new season truly being here.
39-45
Rain showers blanket Ne'haer for several days. Whilst this is unwelcome by many, the farmers are pleased, suggesting that this arc there will be strong crops and a good harvest.
46-67
The rain fades away, yet the clouds remain. The weather is a constant warm while the plant life continues to blossom. In Bayward the rains have caused some localised flooding which takes longer to clear.
68-72
ϟ
Storms pour buckets of water onto the streets of Ne'haer as lightning and thunder clash in the skies above. Though the weather is mildly rainy during the day, at night, the wind howls and the waves crash violently against the docks, as if two Immortals were waging war above the city. In Treth and Millstone some buildings are damaged.
73-95
The weather continues to remain fairly pleasant with the occasional rain cloud. Ironridge enjoys the best of this weather. Even the nights are getting warmer and more temperate.
96-110
Some localised and small storms occur during this time as though Ashan wants to make sure to remind Ne’haer that it isn’t over yet. Generally, though, warm weather and clear skies.
111-123
As the end of the season approaches, the weather heats up and the storms seem to be a thing of the past. Short sleeves and Ymiden clothes are in order throughout Ne’haer and the territories.

Astrological Events

DateEventNotes
10New MoonThe smallest of Idalos's suns disappears within the night sky, shifting into its new moon phase leaving the second largest and largest moons as specks of bright light within the sky.
34Meteor ShowerA bright hail of stars is seen within the night sky, those watching will find some stars actually falling within the territories of Ne’haer. Those brave or bold enough to travel and investigate these spots, may leave with stories to tell or even something more.
51CometAs the sight of a comet in the skies above Ne’haer, it is whispered and rumoured that those who get pregnant on this night will have a child blessed by the Immortal Xiur. Whether it’s true or not remains, of course, to be seen.
83Full Blood MoonThe blood moon is seen hanging low in the skies on this night. As a full moon it seems so close as to be just outside the grasp of a hand and it dominates the skies. Throughout the night, there is a constant howling of wolves and the next morning the fishermen report the largest catch they have ever seen. It’s as though the fish were jumping into the nets.
97ConjunctionA conjunction in the skies represents balance, it seems. But in Ne’haer, many believe that balance is not possible without conflict. With two moons in conjunction on the night of the 97th, a swarm of bats fly over Ne’haer and the Territories. They fly low and get tangled in hair, leaving some people with scratches on their face. In remote areas there are reports of more serious injuries and one well known drunk in Lysoria swears that he saw them form into a man. No one believes him, of course.
106Full MoonThe night of the full moon is a calm and quiet one. However, as the night progresses, more and more strange lights are seen in the sky. Not trailing like comets or meteors, but rather glowing and pulsing, changing the hues of the heavens to an array of purples and deep blues. It is rumoured that the Immortal Ralaith visited Ne’haer this night because the next morning, crops which are still waiting to be harvested are ready, a good ten-trial early. All of them are excellent.
119Meteor ShowerA meteor shower presents an awe-inspiring display. So bright that they are visible even in the daylight, it seems to be raining streaks of silver in the skies all day. While this is ongoing, all the birds in the area burst into spontaneous song and so the citizens of Ne’haer have a trial of beautiful sights and exquisite, natural, music.

Ashan 718 Events
DateLocationEventsDetails
8Ne'haerWandering StorytellerA storyteller comes to visit Ne'haer, taking a seat in public places such as outside the Temple and simply sitting and telling tales. Word quickly spreads about this man, whose ability to weave magic with words leaves audiences entranced. Many report feeling better having left his presence, as though his stories struck their hearts and soothed troubled minds.
15TrethStrange BodyThe body of a biqaj man is found on the morning of the 15th. Laying, peacefully, on the ground on one of the farms, there is no visible cause of death and doctors are unable to determine how he died.
21BaywardThe Beast Of BaywardCitizens of Bayward report a large black cat-like creature which has been spotted on a number of occasions. Worrying and killing livestock, there appear to be a pack of these previously unseen animals and they might be a new species. Dubbed the "Beast of Bayward", scientists are interested in finding out what they can about this situation!
28Ne'haerStorm DamageA number of homes and businesses have been damaged in the bad weather. While there are those who are happy to help, this has also led to a spate of lootings. A call goes out to ask for those who would investigate. Will any answer?
39MillstonePotion PeddlerFor one trial, a middle aged man arrives in Millstone, peddling what he calls "guaranteed magical potions". They all have strange, random effects - none of which are long lasting, none of which are useful - all of which are just strange. When angry citizens make their way to his makeshift stall, demanding a refund, he's already gone.
58Ne'haerNews from afarRumours circulate about the banning of magic in Rynmere and how mages are being burned alive there. A concern grown regarding this, of magic-using refugees arriving from Rynmere. Distrust of magicians is high and there are concerns that they should not be welcome in Ne'haer, as they pose a danger to the citizens.
63TrethRefugees ArriveA small group of people arrive in Treth, claiming to be refugees from a small village outside Lysoria which was attacked and destroyed. They are welcomed and given food and shelter but, more and more, their stories just don't add up. Who might these people be?
74Ne'haerStrange IllnessZuroni's Animal Sanctuary reports an unusual illness killing off the animals there. Valfield farm experiences the same. Concern grows that there has been foul play and that animals have been poisoned / deliberately infected. Is this an attempt to damage food sources? Suspicion of Ironridge grows.
80IronridgeGrain storesThe grain stores of Ironridge are attacked and, overnight, a number of the stores are destroyed. While suspicion in Ne'haer grows about their foodstuff, so too does suspicion in Ironridge - did Ne'haer send out the attack?
85Willow WoodsUnusual NoisesThe guards stationed at the Willow Woods Outpost are used to strange noises and unusual occurrences, which means that, when they report strange lights in the sky and an creepy mist coming from the direction of Seraas en Avellach, people take them seriously.
96Ne’haerRumours of Troop MovementA number of citizens report seeing large groups of military troops mobilising at night. There is no evidence of this come morning light, but the number of reports means that the authorities take it very seriously.
101TrethSpate of BurglariesIn the space of one night there are a series of burglaries on properties in Treth. The people who carry these out must know the residents as they all take place either when people are out or asleep.
104YurrovaInvestigation Of Tremors Scouts travel south to investigate the remains of an abandoned expedition, discovering a malformed and twisted monster lingering there.
111Willow WoodsBruxon Herd SightedA group of Brux numbering more than ten in total are seen moving through the Willow woods throughout the day and night of the 111th. This is highly unusual and is reported as either a really good or a really bad sign, depending on who you’re talking to.
113Ne’haerFlock of BirdsThe skies are filled with colour this trial as birds of all shapes, sizes and colours fly over the city, as though in celebration themselves. The optimists suggest that this is a sign of good luck in the future, but there are those who simply grumble about the amount of mess from their droppings.
120HyranFreak stormAt around noon on this trial, a sudden and very strong storm hits Hyrun. Hailstones the size of a child’s fist accompany this and there is damage to livestock and danger to life if people are not in shelter.

Territory Relations

Ne'haer

Image
Wealth: Improving - Since the attack in Vhalar 716, Ne’haer has since rebuilt its city to be stronger and more resilient against attacks from outside forces. Due to the level of reconstruction needed to rebuild the city, Ne’haer spent hundreds upon thousands of nel on resources and labor. Since this time, however, they’ve managed to build better fleets, hire more guard for safe transportation across the trade routes, and provide better, more sound structures for their citizens. This has played a pivotal role with population growth in the city and has since helped generate nel. With Ne’haer’s debt to Ivorian being paid off, they are now beginning to see gold in the treasury again.
Military: Spread Thin - Ne’haer’s military, the Blades of Zafra, is spread thin throughout the territories. The majority of its armies are held within the city, attempting to keep order, peace, and protection from those that would otherwise cause chaos and disruption. Since the attacks in Vhalar 716, the city has been trying to expand their military numbers to what they once were. Due to this, they don’t have the armies to protect the territories within their borders as well as they should.
Allies: Treth, Millstone
Enemies: Lysoria, Ironridge
Conflicts: Ne’haer has blacklisted both Ironridge citizens and Lysoria citizens from entering the city. Both military and seafaring forces are on standby in case of pirate attacks from Bayward. Rumors of Rynmere’s laws on magic have reached Ne’haer and within their meeting chambers, the Council of Minah gather to discuss whether such action would be good for the city of Religion as well.

Ironridge

Image
Wealth: Declining - Due to the ongoing war between Ironridge and Ne’haer, the city has had to purchase mercenaries, weapons, armor, and other resources to supply their armies and prevent Ne’haer’s takeover of their territory. The money they’ve made from trading with the other territories, as well as the cities beyond the western coastline, has been spent almost frivolously. While the city still has gold to their name, they will not have it for long if they don’t ally themselves with another power beyond Ne’haer.
Military: Rising - Ironridge has invested the entirety of their gold on equipping and expanding their military with the best they have to offer or can come by. They’ve since been looking into allying with another city power in hopes of borrowing more military strength. Ambassadors have been sent out to make this happen, though none have been successful yet.
Allies: Lysoria, Hyran
Enemies: Ne'haer, Yurrova
Conflicts:Ironridge is facing a food shortage due to a mysterious attack by unknown parties on a number of their shops and food stores. Many assume the attack was from Ne’haer but none are certain of it, nor are they sure where to look for food. Their next best option is taking Yurrova and Hyran back from Ne’haer.

Lysoria

Image
Wealth: Wealthy - Lysoria has grown into a thriving city due to its involvement in political affairs beyond the reaches of Ne’haer, as well as its position near the bay and the salt lake just beyond its castle walls. It’s main export being that of metals harvested from Ironridge and Gems found from the mines of Yurrova, Lysoria is sitting on a mountain of nel currently.
Military: Average - While it is not common knowledge, Lysoria thrives with mages. While they maintain a military suited to keep the peace within the city, the place is a haven for a number of mages. It is unknown how many mages infest their military and political ranks, but those that know of magic users in Lysoria know only the very basic of information unless they dig for it.
Allies: Ironridge, Hyran
Enemies: Ne'haer, Cycres
Conflicts: Ne’haer has blacklisted Lysoria trade and its citizen from the city and its territory, making trade somewhat difficult for the political power. Due to this, they’ve captured a representative of Ne’haer, along with many Zafra Blade Guardmens, and burnt them alive at the stake, leaving only one alive to tell the tale.

Yurrova

Image
Wealth: Declining - Riots within the town’s borders have seen a number of houses, businesses, and government buildings decimated. The only thing that keeps the town of Yurrova afloat is the consistent trade of gemstones and ore from the mines outside its walls. Nearly half the town works to oversee materials brought up from the mines, to be loaded on carts and shipped to Lysoria. However, this trade has been stopped by Ne’haer as they’ve now blacklisted Lysoria. Their wealth will soon see an astronomical decline if help is not sent their way.
Military: Borrowed - Knights of Zafra occupy Yurrova, locked in battle with Ironridge soldiers that stray into the borders of the territory. They have little time to focus on keeping the peace within the city and leave much of that to the military of House Renner. The house’s militia has a mind of its own, however, and spurs chaos within the town, inciting riots, and vocalizing their disdain over the peace treaty.
Allies: Ne'haer, Millstone
Enemies: Ironridge
Conflicts:Riots are common place these days, in Yurrova. The only thing that’s helping the citizens cope are the mines, though they will not find food buried beneath the rock. Some citizens gather to elect a member of the public in hopes of sending them for further air to Ne’haer.

Hyran

Image
Wealth: Stable - Hyran has done its best to stay neutral in the war between Ironridge and Ne’haer, however, the town does not condone the suffering of an entire people off the premise of wanting the land they walk on. Thus, Hyran is providing small shipments of food to the Ironridge in exchange for city’s prized metal which Hyran sells at an astronomical price. They dabble in the exporting of grains, meats, and vegetables to Ne’haer, making their gold strictly from what they provide for the city.
Military: Well Armed - Hyran has maintain a military force for many Arcs now, even after signing Ne’haer’s peace treaty. The town takes pride in ensuring each citizens spend at least one arc in military service before going out into the world. Due to this, Hyran always has a well armed and prepared military on standby, should anything go astray.
Allies: Ne'haer, Millstone, Ironridge
Enemies: Cycres
Conflicts:Cycres’ bandit problem has spilled over onto Hyran soil as some farmers have been captured and taken back to Cycres until the ransom of fifty thousand gold nel has been offered up. The large number of citizens taken is sure to impact the economy negatively, so it is imperative that they be rescued. It is not yet known is Ne’haer will send aid in this issue.

Bayward

Image
Wealth: Wealthy - The black market is a profitable business and ever thriving within the borders of Bayward. Most of their gold is either stolen or made off of traded stolen goods and slaves. The town of Bayward also sees its fair share of mercenaries looking for under-the-table business deals and contracts. As long as there’s illegal money to be had, Bayward will almost always profit.
Military: Well Armed - Bayward is occupied by a large pirate crew, though they rarely expect any rules to be followed except the ones they make, they follow harsh law when it comes to ‘The Code’ being broken.
Allies: None
Enemies: Everyone
Conflicts:A newcomer has ventured into town in dark robes, professing that half of Bayward’s fleets would be set aflame in the middle of the night. He was tossed out of town and threatened never to return. Later that night, half the fleets were caught on fire with the newcomer nowhere to be found. Now Dragoon must figure out how to supply his crew with ship, as there are several large shipments to be expected in Rharne for the Witch Doctor.

Cycres

Image
Wealth: Poor - Due to the consistent bandit activity in and around the area, stability is low and the populace is poor. This lack of stability impacts the economy and leads to a variety of further problems and poor health.
Military: Poor - The instability in the area impacts the military presence significantly. Those citizens who work as militia often do so in order to provide for themselves and / or their family and corruption is higher than in any other area. Resources are low and therefore, Cycres is insecure and poorly defended. This, of course, makes it easy pickings for the bandit and thus, the cycle of poverty continues.
Allies:
Enemies: Lysoria, Hyran and Treth
Conflicts: More and more, Cycres is becoming isolated from the surrounding territories. This has been exacerbated since the situation with the Hyrun farmers and this leaves Cycres vulnerable. They would dearly love an ally to help them recover, but so far no one is offering. This leads to the whispered consideration of some darker dealings for help.

Millstone

Image
Wealth: Thriving - Millstone is made up of several Noble families who contribute to the care and refinement of the town. It is well secured, well guarded, and beautifully crafted with a number of shops and locations for trading purposes. Millstone sits on the Anari River, which helps trade vessels go to in from as they please. Millstone attempts to stay neutral from other territories in the region and handles most of its trade beyond the borders of the West.
Military: Average - Each family residing in Millstone is requested to offer up a small portion of their family’s military for the safety of the town. Such forces are gathered under Millstone’s banner instead of their separate houses, and are treated with the utmost respect. They are well equipped with durable items and sharpened swords, making Millstone a particularly difficult place to overrun.
Allies: Ne'haer, Treth, Yurrova, Hyran
Enemies:
Conflicts: The residing family in Millstone must step down from the seat and allow a new family to take power within the town. Those that wish to partake in the campaign must buy their way into a seat before the election can be had, although the buyin has been tripled by the previous Lord and Lady. Only a select few may enter to campaign for Lord and/or Lady of Millstone.

Treth

Image
Wealth: Thriving - Treth generates nel by the grains, meats, herbs, vegetables, and other food items it exports to Ne’haer. Farmers are given fair wage by the city in return for the bundles of food they produce. Ne’haer is even more lenient on supplying Treth and other farmers with loans if the nel helps expand their overall crop production. Thus, the small village of Treth is thriving and while there aren’t too many shops to be found here, there are rarely any poor or homeless villagers to be found here.
Military: Average / Borrowed - Treth is a small village that doesn’t have its own military, therefore, it must be provided to them from Ne’haer. Being one of the city’s main food hubs, Ne’haer sends Treth a surplus of guardsmen to ensure Bandits from Cycres and Pirates from Bayward do not stumble into the village and wreak havoc on the citizens there.
Allies: Ne'haer, Millstone
Enemies: Bayward, Cycres
Conflicts: A decree has come from Ne’haer that requests farmers increase the amount of food they export by three additional caravans, nearly fifty percent of what was requested last arc. Though they can manage it, the village people aren’t happy, especially since several farmers are having issues with their crops growing. Some even say that their animals are dying, but from what?
