Victor was born in 689 in Lysoria as the second child of its lord. His older brother Stefan who would be ruling Lysoria one trial was four arcs older than him, but things such as titles and power did not interest the young boy yet. He loved his brother. Due to the circumstances of his birth, he enjoyed a privileged upbringing and never wanted for anything. The Amielles were rich, even then, and their children received the best education that Lysoria had to offer.
Victor was tutored in a number of different subjects, etiquette and politics among them for his parents considered it to be of the utmost importance that their son knew how to comport himself among nobility and was familiar with the political systems of Lysoria and Ne’haer. If anything happened to Stefan, or if he died without heirs, Victor would rule Lysoria. He also received lessons in languages and linguistics so that he would be able to converse with his father’s business partners in their native language.
On top of that engaged in falconry. He received a bird, Shay, as a gift for his fourteenth birth trial. She was his companion for several arcs, and he often took her on lengthy hunting trips. Victor had been somewhat restless even back then. He practically devoured the books in his father’s library, about other countries, other cultures, monsters, and strange phenomena and dreamed about seeing them with his own eyes one trial.
When he was sixteen, his father introduced a special kind of man to him. Roman was a collector of rare books and artifacts and one of the mages that had steadily been gaining influence in Lysoria, a Transmuter. He taught him the theory for a while before he initiated him. The initiation was agonizingly painful, and Victor almost regretted his decision to learn magic then, but after the pain abated, and he received his first real lessons, he soon began to hunger for more. Magic offered him possibilities far beyond his wildest dreams.
Over the next two arcs they met regularly, until Roman was called away on an important mission. Victor spent the following seasons developing his magic on his own. While his older brother got married, fathered children and took over Lysoria, Victor engaged in a number of somewhat reckless ventures and grew restless again. There didn’t seem to be anything worthwhile left to him in Lysoria after his brother’s ascension to power and their parents’ untimely death. In his opinion, he would always be the spare.
He left sometime after his twenty-first birth trial. He spent most of the following arcs travelling all over Idalos, studying strange phenomena and exotic creatures and became something of an explorer. Occasionally he would visit his brother so that he knew that he was not dead yet or send him letters and gifts, gems, a bone or a piece of fur of some strange creature and tell him how exciting his life was.
Victor resided on the island of Scalvoris for a while, researching the unusual happenings that took place there while pursuing a degree in Theory of Magic, but eventually returned to Lysoria as the tensions between Lysoria, Ironridge and Ne’haer increased. His stay in Lysoria ended in a disaster, with the execution of his secret lover, the Aberrant Jonathan Burr. Afte the dark mage's death, he left again, this time for Melrath, where he served in the miliary, and finally for the Eternal Empire.
