24th Cylus 717
Earlier that trial, they'd wandered around the marketplace on Faldrass; it was a place filled with exotic things which, Faith guessed, would become commonplace to them both fairly quickly the longer they lived on Scalvoris. However, right now they were amazing and quite astonishing to her and she rather thought they were to Padraig too. They'd stopped for something to eat and then they'd made their way to the beach. It was nice, she considered as they walked together, just to be together and exploring. She had her magic bag with her and she leant into his shoulder with a smile. "I am very relaxed and full of good food," although how anyone could be on the amount she ate was a miracle but it was true. Also, he might notice, although she hadn't realised it, the amount she ate was increasing. Not much and she would never be a big eater, but just a little, bit by bit.
Faith lifted her head to look up at him and her smile illustrated her contentment. "Can I give you your gifts when we're sitting on the sand, all warm? I have a blanket, too, so we can be warm back and front. Can I?" She had one, particularly, which she thought he would be very interested in and which she'd gone back to whilst he was engrossed in another stall. She was sure that he hadn't spotted her, so it would be a surprise.
As they arrived on the beach, even in the darkness of Cylus, it was a beautiful sight. There were flickering lanterns lit on the pathway ~ all of them lit and maintained by the resort staff. The waters lapped against the orange sand which reflected beautifully in the flickering lanterns and starlight. Out in the bay a family of five of the strangest looking creatures seemed to be playing together. Faith looked at them and beamed in delight. "Look at those!"
Stepping on to the sand, immediately it was obvious that the sand was warm. There was no snow here, though the island was covered in it, nor was there any on the path which, they might notice, was densely packed orange sand. Faith shook her head in amazement. "They said it, but, Padraig look. It's just sand but it's amazing. We need to collect a lot of it ~ I thought we could put it under the floors in the rooms at home? I mean, it will just take the edge off. Although it'll make Saun even more unbearable, so maybe not." She slipped her arm around him, nestling into him with contentment. "We're going to be happy here, you know. It's like us." Quite what she meant, she didn't say but she rather assumed he'd know. If he wanted to explore a little or just sit on the sand was up to him. They had to collect some flora and there were lots of plants around, so Faith was happy to do whatever.
