APPEARANCE

Papa is known for his intense stare and strong eyebrows - which are most often raised in a subtle expression of doubt. The look on his face typically speaks more strongly than his words, and Papa is never one to hide an expression. With wavy, dark brown hair that becomes more grey as time goes on, and tanned skin from his years in the sun giving way to wrinkles, Papa is starting to show his age. His expressive eyes are most commonly a deep, sparkling brown, though along with his emotions give way to varying shades of red, orange, and pink. With a few prominent scars along his face and arms, Papa keeps reminders of past tussles that he managed to worm his way out of. Standing at 5’10, Papa has a slim, rather weak build - looking at him makes it clear that he’s never been skilled in any type of combat, but prefers to use his brain.

PERSONALITY

Usually found near some sort of chaos, Papa is as easily excitable as he is stubborn. When he makes his mind up about something, there is no getting through to him. His years as a skilled businessman only fueled that fire - and made him believe he could always get away with it. Around most, Papa appears talkative and outgoing, and can even be a little deceitful. His habit of keeping distance between himself and others has worked out well for him, until recently. Papa can’t seem to be as detached from his son, who he’s only now decided he wants to be a father to. Around his boy, his personality veers into more of a wishful leadership role. He could almost be seen as naive, with his ideas that they are much closer than they really are.

HISTORY

Papa was born in arc 675 in Rharne to a wealthy family. He was an only child, and was constantly spoiled by his mother, to the point of feeling smothered by her. Growing up, Papa found himself rather lonely, and spent most of his time alone in his family’s home - it was difficult for him to make friends. Once he turned 15 arcs old, Papa decided he needed a change. Stealing a large amount of his own father’s money, he left home in the night - only leaving a goodbye note for his mother.


He traveled all around Idalos, spending ten years jumping from place to place. Still, Papa yearned for connection, and as the years went by, adapted his own personality to what he considered likeable. During his travels, Papa discovered his preferences in climates, and loved anywhere that was warm, tropical, or even desertlike, while he despised the cold. Papa met many women on his journeys, enjoying them all for a short time before moving on to the next. He has fathered an unknown amount of children.


After so long traveling on his own, it was only natural for Papa to wish to settle down again. On his way back to Rharne, when he was 24 arcs old, he stopped for a short rest in Desnind. It was there that he met Tor’esa, and felt compelled to stay in Disnind for a while longer. After spending a time with her, Papa found out she was pregnant, and it was his. Though he did not want a child, he subconsciously hoped that it would have his eyes. After a few months with Tor’esa, and knowing what she expected of him, Papa felt smothered once again. As soon as she had the baby, the responsibilities felt too much, and once he saw that his son was healthy, Papa departed. He felt ashamed for a while afterwards, but the farther he got from Desnind, the less guilt he felt. Papa felt free again, and without even realizing it, had built up a store of resentment towards Tor’esa for what she wanted him to be.


Once Papa returned to Rharne, he found that his father was dead. His mother, stricken with grief, was thrilled to see her son return. With her funding, Papa got into business with a former neighbor from his childhood, who ran an importing/exporting business. His partner handled the employees, and all of the social aspects, while Papa ran the financial side of things. Their partnership worked out well for years, and Papa was able to retain his love of travel, when work called him away to different cities. Over the years, Papa and his partner built their business together, building names and wealth for themselves in the process.


Until… some of the more questionable aspects of the business came into question. Following a huge scandal that put the entire business in jeopardy, his partner turned on him. Selling out Papa and keeping everything, he was cut out from every aspect of the company, and all of the wealth he’d accumulated. With nothing but the family home his mother left to him when she passed, Papa took to the road again.


With four ex-wives and an uncertain amount of children, at 50 arcs old, Papa spends his days traveling and his nights sleeping outdoors. There is only one thing that he has left - and that is his favorite son, who he was determined to reconnect and travel with.
