I've not finished my CS yet, but I am going down the Defiance route, and had some questions regarding the revealed form. Now, I know I've got a long way to go still before I get there (CS completion and approval being the first hurdles to clear), but I wanted to ask first to maybe adjust the path I have in mind based on the answers I get.
So the wiki page says this:
but also this:The Exemplar is a combination of kin elements cosmetically, their body painstakingly reformed with the elements that are alive and moving within them. Although they retain an internal system, the importance of the heart and the head, mystically speaking they are more akin to the raw elements than anything they were before.
1) Am I correct in the assumption that the Exemplar is only in Exemplar/semi-elemental form when they are using coexistence? Or are they always in semi-elemental form but using Coexistence simply increases their ability to use all Defiance techniques? Because if their body is reformed and blended with the elements upon becoming an Exemplar, then surely they are always difficult to harm, regardless of whether they are using Coexistence or not, right? When an Exemplar is born, they become capable of learning Coexistence, the truest expression of a completed relationship. For an Exemplar, this goes beyond the separation of self that is ordinarily maintained throughout the Defiance relationship. Instead, this ability takes the element into the self and merges it. An Exemplar who invokes this ability will merge with one of their Kin elements, drastically increasing all manipulations of the element they are capable of. It is difficult, truly difficult, to harm a Exemplar while in this state.
2) Does coexistence further alter the Exemplar's body when used? Like, it also blends the weak spots of brain and heart with the elements, thus making it so difficult to hurt the mage.
3) How drastic are the cosmetic changes brought on by revealing? Is it like becoming a being with fire instead of flesh, and bones of rock (but still containing a heart and brain)? Or is it less extensive? Because again, that kind of chance feels like it would be difficult to harm regardless of whether the mage was using coexistence or not. Or is the above example an example of coexistence itself?
Thanks for the help!
