Re: Fixing The Fall: Thread Submission
Okay, so - sorry! Instead of doing each one individually, I just ran ahead and did a three-part series on Nir's dreamscape fix.
Link to the Thread(s):
The New Chaos II. Requiem's Melody.
The New Chaos III. Requiem's Riddle.
The New Chaos IV. Requiem's Curse.
Summary of the Thread(s):
Requiem's Melody: Nir'wei arrives in his dreamscape by following the sound of Emea's Requiem from the Untold into the Veil. He explores his dreamscape, discovering that because he is in the dreamscape physically, he cannot exit the dream again until it is fixed.
Requiem's Riddle: Nir'wei is confronted by a dream version of Lynessa, who prevents him from reaching Faldrun and fixing the dreamscape, but also helps him come to terms with his own weaknesses to help him in the final battle.
Requiem's Curse: Nir'wei confronts Faldrun, his biggest enemy, and defeats him by consuming his power and using it to prevent the volcano's eruption again.
How did this stretch / challenge / impact your PC?
Nir'wei struggles with his own ineptitude, selfishness and cowardice. All of this, the fight with Lynessa and the eventual fight with Faldrun, forced him to face all those deep struggles directly and openly, coming to terms with the fact that he's not perfect, far from it, but he is still himself and he always will be. In particular, his fight with Lynessa focused on his own negative feelings of self-worth, questioning his own powers and his insecurities, forcing him to literally burn them away in order to face Faldrun, where they would have surely caused him to lose.

Re: Fixing The Fall: Thread Submission
Link to the Thread(s): Searching for Hope
Summary of the Thread(s): 2nd dreamscape thread; Ari'sora searches for the children she can hear crying, and they leave her gifts when she helps them.
How did this stretch / challenge / impact your PC?: In her first dreamscape thread, she made the decision to fight, and in doing so, to confront her fears, and in this thread, she actually does so. Perhaps more importantly, each child that she saved was an echo of her past. When she was actually living through those times, she didn't have anyone to help her through them. In a very real way, helping her past selves through those moments, and saving them from the monsters was helping herself. It has the potential of being something of a healing experience for her that will follow her into the waking world and help her to become stronger.

Rei'sari was formerly Ari'sora, but after getting a fresh start in life and a new appearance from Vega, she changed her name to Rei'sari.

Link to the Thread(s): Mending What's Broken
Summary of the Thread(s): Duration of 5 nights, Patrick spends each night learning a little about his Dreamscape; and comes to find a way to mend it.
How did this stretch / challenge / impact your PC?:
Night One: Patrick had to learn many things, firstly his companions would assist him and that he needed to fix the dreamscape. This helped him regain a sense of courage/purpose after CitW.
Night Two: Patrick learned he could still affect the reality of the dreamscape but only on a small scale, as well as the conditions he's forced to work with in this dream; helping him become more aware of dreams and how he can change them. Patrick also had to learn to become more aware of the events repeating in the dream, which was important to realize the sole purpose of this venture.
Night Three: Though nothing was written to elaborate on this, Patrick deliberately tried and failed multiple times to ascend the tower in his dream. While this didn't play any major role entirely, it did signify his growing determination to resolve this situation overall.
Night Four: This is where things got experimental for Patrick, as he had to learn how to adapt his mind to the concept of 'no limitations' to manipulate the dreamscape. Naturally this proved problematic as his overthinking of logistics made it a challenge, but that was overcome with an experiment done to test his limits also.
Night Five: The deciding factor in which Patrick needed to realize what truly seemed wrong with the Dreamscape. Rather than assuming he needed to reach the top, he quickly realizes that there's a reason the tower is falling consistently; and then considers that to be the thing he must fix in order to mend the Dreamscape. Sure enough his theory isn't too far off, and upon discovering the source; Patrick relies on his intellect to figure out the final piece of the puzzle. Shortly afterwards everything recedes and the way is clear, Patrick is not only completely aware of his limitations but also the possibilities in Emea.
Overall he's definitely learned how to count on and rely on his friends more, rather than be the lone wolf/rogue he tries to be more often than not.

Re: Fixing The Fall: Thread Submission
Link to the Thread(s): Rebuilding Hope; third and final dreamscape thread
Summary of the Thread(s): Ari'sora finds Shadow, and rebuilds the Spooky House.
How did this stretch / challenge / impact your PC?: There's a couple of things here. She is challenged by the need to "fix"/rebuild the Spooky House when she has no knowledge of carpentry, or any skill that would allow her to do so. It forces her to realize more consciously that she is able to shape her dreamscape by "summoning"/"conjuring"/creating the things she needs, and that her will (the desire to "fix" things) is shaping the world she finds herself in. This will help her in future dreams. She also learns that she may be able to accomplish something that looks impossible at first glance if she simply tries to do it, and works hard to achieve it.

Summary of the Thread(s): Rakvald finds the good news bear on top of a book that isn't burnt in his dreamscape. This gives him something to focus on instead of his students, and actually ends up being a treasure trove of information about the magic of graft. He uses some of the knowledge gleaned against his talkative students, leeching their voices out of them and putting it back into himself. He regains his voice in the dreamscape, but not in waking life.
How did this stretch / challenge / impact your PC? Intellectually impacted him, and he gains a gnarly overstepping mutation. Plus he's starting to feel more comfortable with his situation in the dreamscape.
