Hello my fellow PCs!!

So you may have noticed yesterday the site being down for about twelve hours, most of the day. The problem appears to be related to bots, trying to index our site. For most sites this wouldn't be as big a deal, but for us, with our hundreds of thousands of posts and tens of thousands of threads and dozens of forums, it adds up exponentially to more traffic per bot.

Tech Guy and the rest of us are looking into potential solutions, including the possibility that we'll make the site's threads readable only after logging into or registering on the site. In the meantime, we may experience some interruptions of service here or there, until we come to a solution to this intermittent problem.

Immortal Mark Clarification

Your Announcement
Hello Everyone.

We are pleased to announce an adjustment/clarification on Marks. All PC can sense those who bear the same mark AND are of the same level or lower. Champions, as agents of the Immortal, not only can sense all those bearing the Immortal's mark but are aware of others level in the mark. No one, even Champions, are able to sense any other mark they don’t bear. Unless bearing an ability that grants such knowledge.

Hello fellow PCs!

Today we're announcing a slight shift in gears for Standing Trials.

Staff has decided to partner with Michael Ende Productions and See-Saw Films, to rebrand Standing Trials as Neverending Trials, an RPG spinoff of the cult classic movie, Neverending Story from the 1980s.

We're very proud to have struck this partnership, and will be selling pre-release fortune dragons for anyone who wishes to beta test the new site systems with a pre-order. This pre-release of Neverending Trials will include such features as as fully fledged store including microtransactions and expansions.

Given the change to our creative focus, some changes have been suggested by our partners in See-Saw Films.

The world of Idalos will still be there, but beyond it, in the realm of dreams and the imaginings, will be the Wandering Mountains, that move and float in the air. The Imperial Capital of Fantasia, the Ivory Tower, where the Childlike Empress lives.

You'll encounter such fantastical creatures as Falcor and other fortune dragons. Large, gentle giants and talking turtles. Ghosts, goblins, and seas of pure acid.

You'll possibly brave the Swamp of Sorrows, and wrestle to save your sinking mountt. And many many more.

We hope you all join us on this new journey, as we make this shift from original fantasy to fan fiction fantasy. Or as I call it, Fantasiction.

And remember, "Every real story is a never-ending story."

Update!!!
Hi all,

I'm excited to announce the latest update from Tech Guy and his Super Brain of Awesomeness!

You may have noticed that, over the last wee while, we've had a lot of "slowing down" of the site - that's been because bots are evil.

You may now notice that you go through a brief "hey, are you human" process when you log on to the site.

We're hoping this will work - we're hoping the bots won't work out a way around it.

Any issues, either drop a DM in Discord or please PSF.

Hello players,

Credit to Darius for updating the Languages used in Idalos. Through a long and laborious and painstaking process, we've culled many unused and nonsensical languages from the lore, and condensed them down to languages that haver been used: Language Page on the WIki.

We're going to be adding all the languages to the UCP system soon so your pcs can get to earning the different languages by way of 'immersiion'.

We've done away with the idea of difficulty of learning languages, as it was needlessly mathematical and complex. Instead, we're going to be looking at other ways languages may be learned independently of linguistics skill and immersion. It'll likely come in the form of buying them outright with xp, but the specific xp amounts and knowledge requirements will have to be part of the discussion we have as staff.

Heya Players,

With the advent of Hyludin Air-Ships, we've decided that Seafaring ought to require knowledge requirements for proficiency, similar to how we handle Mount types. So from now on, you'll be able to put in for specialty knowledge for each type of vessel, whether it travels on air, land, or water. Naturally you'll be able to claim one of these by default at full proficiency, upon gaining the skill of Seafaring. After that, you can angle to gain the two other types of 'Seafaring' whether land based onr air based. We've included Land as a way of future proofing, if crew-based vehicles on land ever become a thing. But for most existing players, we imagine they started with Water based Seafaring by default.

Otherwise, if you have aspirations of joining crews in the sky, feel free to begin specializing into air 'Seafaring' with knowledges to that effect.

To gain basic proficiency in any kind of Seafaring, you need either have chosen it by default, or gained 5 knowledges in that specific terrain type. This allows you to travel at competent skill. In order to travel by that mode at any level beyond Competent, you need 10 knowledges to specialize in that mode of travel.

Heya Folks,

We've gone through and realized that we never put disclaimers on the old individual well write-ups on the wiki. Woops! Those were meant to be replaced by the information contained solely in the wells write-up, written by our old friend Trouble. However, as a result of our oversight we'll allow that to remain as old lore. If you have items or things made from the wells, you can keep them.

For Personal Fractures for master transmuters seeking etherstones, I'm afraid anyone who has these will have to exit them and say goodbye to that feature of Etherstones. Original beings were the only beings who could produce a permanent fracture, and that is upon death/shattering. You can still use Wellcraft to produce class 1 Purites/Etherstones, but they will not be found in a Personal Fracture.

P.S. There may be changes coming down the line in well-merging that requires us as players to consult mods when merging or producing wells that are over class 2. So please refrain from smooshing wells to class 3 until such a time as we've reached a decision on this. We will keep you all posted.
