Vhalar 716 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne

1st-26th Trial

Image
The first few trials of Vhalar feel much like Saun, and many Rharnians find that they have trouble remembering that the season has changed. The cloudless skies make it feel uncomfortably warm when the sun is highest in the sky, and most folks make an effort to wear as little clothing as possible in order to cope with the heat.

27th-41st Trial

Image
The trials begin to grow cooler, much to the relief of Rharnians. The shifting cloud cover provides some relief from the sun, and a cooling breeze makes a frequent appearance during the evenings. Many Rharnians can be overheard in beer gardens declaring that the weather is "just perfect".

42nd-51st Trial

Image
The clouds leave the sky in time for the Annual Beer Festival, but the weather continues to cool. Some Rharnians, particularly those spending the majority of time in the Glass and Sky Quarters, have taken to wearing a light jacket or cloak in the evenings.

52nd-67th Trial

Image
The last trial of the Annual Beer Festival marks the arrival of rain. Between the 52nd and the 67th of Vhalar, scattered rainfalls occur throughout the day in starts and stops. The rain is light and much needed for the fields and crops.

68th Trial

Image
A massive thunderstorm rocks the mountain on the 68th of Vhalar. Lightning streaks across the sky, and rain pounds against the buildings. Some claim that the mountain is shaking from the intensity of the storm, though they see it as a good omen from Ilaren rather than a cause for fear. Still, few people brave the streets today.

69th-72nd Trial

Image
The storm lessens after the 68th, but the cold rain steadily continues during the next three trials. The weather does not dampen the nightly celebrations across the city, though folks stick to the taverns thanks to the miserable state of the outdoors.

73rd-110th Trial

Image
The rain finally clears, leaving behind wispy clouds, sunny days, and a cool breeze that permeates the evening air. The temperature is comfortable, and many Rharnians take the opportunity to spend more time outdoors.

111th-123rd Trial

Image
On the 111th of Vhalar, the first signs of Zi'da start to appear. Clouds arrive in the skies and the daytime temperature drops, resulting in light cloaks and coats becoming a regular part of every Rharnian's outfit. Those making regular trips to the top of the mountain begin to complain about the cold and regret the loss of the Hot Cycle.

Note

If you would like to help out in Rharne and plan the weather for next season, feel free to PM Rumour or Zenith.
1st - 3rd Vhalar: Global Plot Event
The city has been under siege by shadow monsters since the 33rd of Saun, 716 and the opening days of Vhalar are no different. Monsters rise from the shadows during the day to attack anyone in their path. It is rarer to spot one during the evening, though it is not unheard of for some unlucky Rharnians. The City Guard have closed the entrance gates to Rharne, allowing no one in or out of the city. Lightning Knights are posted around the city in highly visible locations, and a number of patrols are joined by a Thunder Priestess with a Palenon mark. Many of those in the Dust Quarter and outside the city are left to fend for themselves. Inside the city, food is becoming scarcer and the kegs are running dry, resulting in a rather irritated and scared population.

4th Vhalar: Global Plot Event
Rharne awakens to find the shadow monsters nowhere in sight. The city remains on alert and the gate stays closed.

5th Vhalar: Global Plot Event
The shadow monsters are gone for good. The City Guard agree to open the gates, much to the relief of the general population, and the city begins to repair itself. Healers from the Thunder Priestess faction are sent to aid those in the Dust Quarter and the Stormlands.

14th Vhalar: Global Plot Event
It is rumoured that Ilaren has left the city on important business. Tavern-goers entertain themselves by speculating at her reasons. Guesses include: secret lover, gathering allies, and replenishing the kegs.

15th Vhalar: Global Plot Event
Ilaren is seen entering the Lightning Cathedral. It is said that she has gathered the Head Priestesses for a private meeting.

17th Vhalar: Global Plot Event
It is rumoured that Ilaren has left the city once again. The speculation around for her reasons for leaving is heightened: two secret lovers? Wiping out the aukari single-handedly? An impending world ale shortage?

21st Vhalar: Player Thread
An aukari is found murdered in the Harlot 'n' Hound. No one steps forward to identify his body. The Lightning Knights begin an investigation.

30th Vhalar: Global Plot Event
Ilaren is said to have been spotted in the city. The Thunder Priestesses neither confirm nor deny her re-appearance; they only smile mysteriously and continue on their way.

45th - 52nd Vhalar:
The Annual Beer Festival spans 7 trials, during which all citizens (with the exception of those who work in the service industry) are excused from work. During the day, the streets in the Earth Quarter and the Glass Quarter are lined with booths of brewers sampling and selling locally brewed beers as well as merchants from all over Idalos peddling their wares. During the evening, taverns across Rharne are filled with revelers. High Priestesses from the Thunder Priestess faction travel the city and encourage celebrations by sharing their Bottomless Wineskin ability from their Palenon blessings.

63rd Vhalar:
A merchant ship is attacked by river pirates on the Zynyx. The Merchants Guild post a bounty for the swift capture of any river pirate who may have been involved, and demands that the Lightning Knights increase the Navy's patrols along the river. The rather undiplomatic demand is a cause for heated debate on the Council.

75th Vhalar:
A spontaneous party breaks out in the Glass Quarter and revelers take to the streets. The morning after, five pairs of previously-worn pants are discovered on the side of the road and several shop windows are found smashed.

82nd Vhalar:
Travelers arrive in Rharne with rumours about children disappearing from farms in the Stormlands. A small group of Lightning Knights is sent to investigate.

96th Vhalar: Moderated
A local tavern promises free beer to anyone who shares a story or folktale at their pub this evening. [If your PC participates IC, earn +3 Fame.]

104th Vhalar:
A competition is held at a well-known fighting ring in the Earth Quarter. For a 2 gn entry fee, participants can pit their Unarmed Combat skills against each other and compete to win 75 gn.

119th Vhalar:
The Cleric branch of the Thunder Priestess faction recruits citizens for a "good works" project. Citizens are asked to collect clothing and blankets from other Rharnians and distribute these items to those living in the Dust Quarter in order to help them prepare for the Cold Cycle. [If your PC participates IC, earn +3 Fame.]

123rd Vhalar:
The last day of Vhalar before Zi'da begins.

Zi'da 716 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne

1st-22nd Trial

Image
Zi'da begins without much fanfare. The days are cloudy and cool, and the nights are often accompanied with a chill wind that encourages feelings of regret for those who leave home without a jacket. Most of Rharne’s citizens can be found wearing moderately warm clothing - mostly a decent pair of pants and a long-sleeved tunic, paired with a light cloak or jacket.

23rd-26th Trial

Image
As the weather continues to cool, a steady and miserable rain enters the city. It starts and stops throughout a period of four trials, and causes a number of citizens to come down with a small cold or cough.

27th-45th Trial

Image
Much to the relief of most Rharnians, the rain clears and the sun is finally seen peeking out from behind thin wisps of clouds. The weather warms during the day, though the nights are still cold, and many citizens take the opportunity to go on long walks throughout the parks and Stormlands. Taverns with outdoor patios see a spike in patrons.

46th-55th Trial

Image
The days turn cloudy once more and the port winds begin to increase. Both the days and the nights have an uncomfortable chill. The transition from warm weather to cool weather is always an unpleasant one, and many take to the taverns to complain about the change.

56th-62nd Trial

Image
The first snow of the season falls in Rharne. It is a very light snow and quickly turns into rain. The snow-rain combination continues throughout the second half of the 12 Trials of Zi'da holiday, making for some very wet trials. Most Rharnians leave home in boots and a thick cloak to ward off the weather.
.

63rd-87th Trial

Image
The snow disappears, but the wind remains. The trials grow colder and colder, and it becomes clear that Cylus is on its way. Those living in the Dust Quarter do their best to patch up the holes in their walls and roofs in preparation for the season change.

88th-89th Trial

Image
An unexpected snowstorm blows in from the north and coats the city in a thick layer of white snow. The Glass Quarter and the Sky Quarter are hit the hardest, with many residents waking up on the morning of the 88th to find themselves snowed in. The snowstorm continues until mid-afternoon on the 89th trial.

90th-93rd Trial

Image
A light snow continues on and off throughout the remaining trials of Zi'da. Citizens remained bundled up in heavy clothing as a result of the constant cold winds coming in from the Stormlands and Lake Lovalus.

Note

If you would like to help out in Rharne and plan the weather for next season, feel free to PM Rumour or Zenith.
1st Zi'da:
The Lightning Knights' presence in the Dust Quarter has increased as a result of an attack on the Earth Quarter's Infirmary during Vhalar 716. Patrols are more frequent in the pockets closest to the wall, though the outskirts of the Quarter are still relatively free of city guards.

8th Zi'da:
Reports of children disappearing from farms in the Stormlands become more frequent. Parents desperate to find their children journey to Rharne and appeal to the Council for their support. The Lightning Knights ask the local populace to share any information they may have and send a second contingent of knights to investigate.

15th Zi'da:
The Lightning Knights and the Thunder Priestesses begin to actively recruit Squires and Novitiates into their ranks. Locals find themselves more frequently approached by faction members.

27th Zi'da:
A fortune teller sets up shop in the Rharne Marketplace. He calls himself "Dante the Diviner" and claims to be able to predict the future for the small, small fee of 2gn per person.

35th Zi'da: Moderated
A melee and unarmed combat tournament dedicated to Ilaren is held at the Lightning Dome. Many believe that competing in the tournament is an important way to honour the Immortal. The event lasts the full day and is open to any resident or visitor who can pay the 5gn fee to compete. The winner is awarded a 100gn purse, along with bragging rights for the remainder of the season. [Earn +5 devotion for participating in the tournament.]

46th Zi'da:
Dante the Diviner is arrested by the Lightning Knights for peddling false hope and lying about being able to predict the future. He is thrown in jail for the night, but disappears the next morning.

50th Zi'da:
The first trial of Rharne's annual 12 Trials of Zi'da holiday (Dust theme). The Zi'da Market officially opens its doors and, in honour of the theme, an impromptu party kicks off in the Dust Quarter. Many are surprised to see the poor and the wealthy mingling together in drunken peace.

53rd Zi'da:
The fourth trial of Rharne's annual 12 Trials of Zi'da holiday (Earth theme). Not ones to be outdone, the residents of the Earth Quarter crowd the local taverns after hearing about the Dust Quarter's impromptu party on the 50th of Zi'da. The Bronze Boar finds itself overwhelmed with demand and runs out of alcohol before the night is up, much to the horror of its patrons.

57th Zi'da:
The eighth trial of Rharne's annual 12 Trials of Zi'da holiday (Future theme). Tragedy strikes at the Zi'da Market when three Rharnians collapse and fall into a coma as the result of a spiked drink. The city's more superstitious residents declare the incident to be bad omen for the arc ahead.

61st Zi'da:
The last trial of Rharne's annual 12 Trials of Zi'da holiday (Blue theme). A ceremony is held at the Lightning Cathedral between the 10th and 11th break in celebration. Just before midnight that evening, screams are heard coming from the Docks and the body of a young woman is found. She is said to have been strangled to death, with a patterned scarf tied around her neck and signs of sexual assault. The Lightning Knights begin an investigation.

65th Zi'da:
A second woman is found murdered at the Docks during the 23rd break. She is also said to have been strangled to death, with a patterned scarf around her neck and signs of sexual assault. The Lightning Knights believe they have a repeat killer on their hands and issue a warning to Rharnians to not walk alone at night. The Cleric branch of the Thunder Priestesses offer to walk women home who may feel uncomfortable on their own.

70th Zi'da:
A third woman is found murdered at the Docks during the 22nd break in the same fashion as the previous two women. The Lightning Knights have not made any progress capturing the serial killer and post a large bounty. Locals begin to call the murderer "The Strangler". Dagger sales rise as women begin to arm themselves for protection.

74th Zi'da:
Trade and tourism begin to slow as the season grows colder. The bars tend to be filled more with locals than with travelers and are somewhat less busy than usual. The dip in tourists does not, however, affect the demand for alcohol. Requests for whiskey spike to a seasonal high.

83rd Zi'da:
Rumours of a dire wolf roaming the Stormlands begin to spread throughout Rharne. The bravest hunters leave the city in an attempt to hunt it down. [Important Note: On this trial, the Sessfiend is released in the Stormlands and attacks all those in its path. Please PM Zvezdana Venora if you would like a thread!]

88th Zi'da:
An unexpected storm coats the city in a thick layer of snow. Residents of the Earth Quarter take the trial off work to enjoy the first big snow of the Cold Cycle, while residents of the Glass and Sky Quarters spend most of the trial digging themselves out of their homes.

93rd Zi'da:
The last trial of Zi'da before Cylus begins.

Note: Players are welcome to self-moderate any calendar event unless "Moderated" is indicated next to the date.

The 12 Trials of Z'ida
The 12 Trials of Zi’da is an annual celebration of family and friends that lasts from the 50th – 61st of Zi’da. The holiday allows Rharnians to show appreciation and gratitude for the people in their lives who have loved and supported them throughout the past arc.

Each trial has a specific theme, and those who celebrate the holiday give their loved ones a small gift connected to the theme. Some choose to wrap the gifts, tag them with an identifier to show what date the gift should be opened, and give them to their intended recipients all at once. Other Rharnians choose to give and receive their gifts on a daily basis.

During the 12 trials, the Rharne marketplace in the Earth Quarter turns into the “Zi’da Market,” and is filled with food, mulled wine and cider, and vendors peddling wares aligned to the themes.
Image
50th Zi'da - Dust: This gift is often something inexpensive and small. Usually a small bauble of some kind.

51st Zi'da - Past: This gift symbolizes something from the recipient’s past. Often something sentimental or nostalgic.

52nd Zi'da - Grey: The gift is something grey. Often cloth or stone.

53rd Zi'da - Earth: This gift is usually something taken from the earth. Either something made of stone, clay, or for the more wealthy, marble or porcelain.

54th Zi'da - Present: A gift pertaining to the present, and the relationship between the giver and the recipient.

55th Zi'da - Green: A green gift. Often something simple like flowers or clothing. Some more extravagant gift givers may give jewelry.

56th Zi'da - Glass: The gift of glass is often something made from glass, but it can also be something that is extremely fragile. Vases, jars, and stained glass are all typical gifts.

57th Zi'da - Future: This gift is supposed to symbolize the recipient’s future in the coming arc. Gifts range from work supplies to nels to fare for a boat trip.

58th Zi'da - Purple: This gift is an item that is purple. Often clothing or jewelry, glass or gem, the color of the purple is often the vibrant purple of the city’s flag.

59th Zi'da - Sky: This gift is used to represent the sky. Oftentimes feathers from birds are made into charms, baubles, and jewelry. The wealthier citizens frequently import feathers from other regions, or rare birds - though a creative Rharnian knows that the sky’s the limit.

60th Zi'da - Eternity: This gift is often given by more intimate couple and friends to show the strength of the relationship. It is often something that transcends the need for definition. Those who are more financially driven may decide to drop the deeper meaning and just buy diamonds.

61st Zi'da - Blue: This gift is blue, though like the sky it can range in color from the softest of periwinkles to a vibrant cerulean to the darkest of navies.

Players who would like to participate in this seasonal event have two options:

Option #1: (Solo) If you do not have a specific PC who you will be giving gifts to but want to participate in the event, you may create a solo thread. Players may RP giving gifts to an NPC. All 12 trials should be contained to that thread, but you can split up the posts however you like. For example, you may want to create a separate post for each of the 12 trials, or have a single post for all 12.

Option #2: (Partners) If you would like to pair up with another PC to exchange gifts with them, please create a separate thread with them. All 12 trials should be contained to that thread. You are, however, welcome to create additional side threads to tell a longer story on a particular trial.

Note: Regardless of your choice, Zenith or I may pop into your thread with a small gift for the participants at some point during the season.

Rules:
  • Sign up here to participate in the event.
  • Posts do not need to be long: 100-200 words per trial describing the gift your PC is giving and who they are giving it to is sufficient.
  • The nel for each gift given must be deducted from your ledger.
  • Gifts received must be added to your list of possessions.
  • Please submit your completed "12 Days of Zi'da" threads here so that a Rharne mod may review them. Any spin-off threads should be submitted to the Reviewer's Section forum as per usual.

Cylus 717 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne
Reminder: There are no suns during Cylus. Both day and night will be in a complete state of twilight throughout the entire season.

1st-17th Trial

Cylus begins with a series of light snowfalls and strong port winds coming in from Lake Lovalus and the Stormlands, with those in the Glass and Sky Quarters experiencing a particularly unpleasant chill. Those who decide to brave the cold are bundled up in leathers and wools and furs, and many a complaint about the weather can be overheard at the local taverns. Some of the more well-travelled citizens claim that the cold is nowhere near as unpleasant as Viden or Treidhart. These folks are promptly bought beers and ordered to tell stories of their travels.

18th-19th Trial

The temperature drops overnight and Rharne wakes up to a frozen lake. Boats are trapped in the ice, and no one is able to arrive or leave the city through the waterway. The Lightning Knights find themselves with their hands full as they attempt to quell the panic of concerned traders and merchants. The city sees a spike of deaths in the Dust Quarter due to the poor state of housing (or lack thereof).

20th-26th Trial

The weather warms by a few degrees and provides Rharne with a few trials of relief from the deep Cylus chill. No snow falls during these trials and the snow on the ground begins to melt, leaving behind slushy streets and plenty of wet socks. The port winds are still strong and Rharnians continue to layer their clothing before venturing outdoors.

27th-30th Trial

Cylus comes to a close with four trials of continuous snow. Grumbling increases among tavern-goers who are sick of the cold and the dark and feel that the weather should be improving rather than worsening. Travelers find it more difficult than usual to venture into the Stormlands as a result of the snowfall.

Note

If you would like to help out in Rharne and plan the weather for next season, feel free to PM Rumour, Zenith, or Chronicle.
1st Cylus:
Though the trials are dark, Rharnians know that hope will always exist so long as there is light - and alcohol. This hope is symbolized on the first trial of Cylus when many Rharnians gather at the gates of Rahren to celebrate the "Festival of Lights". Each Rharnian brings an unlit candle or lantern and, at the 19th break, Thunder Priestesses make their way through the crowd to light the candles and brighten the darkness. A parade is then led by the Priestesses, starting at the Earth Quarter and ending in the Sky Quarter just outside of the Lightning Cathedral. It is often a noisy procession, filled with laughter and music and song. Throughout the rest of the season, the Lightning Cathedral keeps candles lit in the prayer space. It is the Cleric branch’s job to ensure the candles do not go out until the 1st of Ashan. Many businesses also keep candles or lanterns lit in their windows during this time.

3rd Cylus:
A rumour begins to spread around the Dust Quarter about homeless Rharnians being abducted from the streets. The Lightning Knights take note of the rumour but do not officially investigate.

5th Cylus: Moderated
An enormous bonfire sponsored by the City Council is held just outside the walls of Rharne. Rharnians from every Quarter gather around and share stories, cider, mulled wine, and hot food.

7th Cylus:
The Bronze Boar tavern hosts an unarmed combat tournament in their fighting ring and dedicate it to the Immortal Ilaren. The entry fee is 2gn per participant, with the potential to win 75 gn. [Earn +5 devotion for participating]

10th Cylus:
A textiles business is shut down in the Glass Quarter without notice. The shop is empty, the windows are boarded, and a sign is nailed to the door declaring it “Closed”. Confused patrons are seen milling about outside of the store, but the owner is nowhere to be found.

13th Cylus:
A challenge called the “Ellune Run” becomes popular among the younger citizens of Rharne. Those who are brave enough, or foolish enough, to face the cold are dared to race from one end of the Earth Quarter to the other in nothing but their underclothes. Two teenagers and one twenty-four-arc-old are sent to the Infirmary with hypothermia as a result. [Earn +5 fame for participating]

18th Cylus:
The lake freezes overnight as a result of an unusually cold evening. All boats are stuck in the harbour, and nobody can get in or out of the city through the waterway. The Lightning Knights are sent down to keep travelers and traders from panicking, as well as to keep curious citizens from wandering out onto the weak ice.

19th Cylus:
The city sees a spike of deaths in the Dust Quarter due to the poor state of housing (or lack thereof). The Healer branch of the Thunder Priestesses and members of the Order of Adunih are seen roaming this Quarter in an active effort to help anyone who may need it. [Earn +5 fame for joining the healers in their efforts]

20th Cylus:
After two tense trials, the lake finally thaws and boats are able to move in and out of the waterway.

23rd Cylus:
Blackwood Bar hosts a talent show where participants showcase their various skills, ranging from singing to music to spoken word poetry. Several participants choose to showcase their ability to drink large amounts of beer in a very short period of time and wake up the next morning with a nightmarish hangover. [Earn +5 fame for participating]

27th Cylus:
Two businesses in the Earth Quarter are shut down without notice - a bakery and a clothing store. Though the shops were both open the trial before, on the morning of the 27th they are each completely empty, their windows are boarded, and a sign is nailed to the door proclaiming them to be “Closed”. The owners are nowhere to be found.

28th Cylus:
A fire breaks out in the Glass Quarter and burns down a tavern. The tavern’s owner insists it was arson, but the Lightning Knights deem the fire an accident - likely the result of a tipped-over candle.

30th Cylus:
The last trial of Cylus before Ashan begins.

Ashan 717 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne

1st-11th Trial

The season starts with cool and clear weather for the first set of days. Clouds are few and allow for fair weather for everyone within the city. Trials are somewhat moist and cool while the nights are a little chilly, while the temperature in general remains bearable for Rharne.

12th-16th Trial

Around the 12th trial of Ashan, clouds finally begin to swarm and block out the sun. During this time period, however, weather still holds fair. Days are bound to be cool with light winds to bring in more moisture, while nights will remain chillier around this period of time.

17th-26th Trial

Finally the Ashan rains move in to bless farmlands. Long expected and much awaited showers are scattered and light throughout the following trials. Temperatures is mildly cold but only slightly, as the rain brings promise of warmer weather on the horizon.

27th-32nd Trial

After many light and scattered showers, the rains part with the city and leave behind cloudy skies which filter out the sun. Slowly the climate rises in temperature as the cool air is mixed with an approaching humidity. With the increase in temperature, locals express the need to wear lighter clothing during the day.

33rd-38th Trial

The humidity brings back the rains with more light showers that remain scattered. Some doses of sunlight occur between the cloudy patches to brighten the gloomy weather. With the rains returning, the temperature regulates into cooler temperatures, making this period of trials feel rather agreeable if not wet.

39th-42th Trial

The showers lighten up as the rainfall reduces over the next several trials. Humidity levels rise once more to make the daytime feel much warmer than usual. Many are claiming this Ashan will be a wetter season than the last arc, and are hopeful that it'll yield for a better harvest in the seasons ahead.

43th-49th Trial

With the humidity still rising, the clouds part to create clear skies Locals interpret this as a good omen from Ashan. With the sun out in force to help warm up and dry out the city, temperatures feel warmer compared to the past couple of weather patterns.

50th-57th Trial

With the tournament looming around, the sun gives a bright, vivid presence to the city. Trials are now noticeably warm and muggy, and with the rising humidity people are finally starting to complain of the unusual 'heatwave' that has suddenly loomed over the city.

58th-64th Trial

The unexpected humidity continues its rise and people cannot walk outdoors without breaking a sweat. Those who labour outside are advised to keep a drink on hand, whether it be booze or water, so that they can maintain some level of hydration. Later on in the trials, the humidity swells almost unbearably, signifying the looming storm in the trials to come.

65th Trial

At last, with the serious build of pressure in the atmosphere at its breaking point, clouds finally condense and swell over Lake Lovalus. A wicked show of lightning is displayed with violent clashes of thunder, and the Lightning Knights are charged with the task of damage control. The violent thunderstorm proves relentless as the Knights endeavour to control and redirect the lightning, and soon after citizens are instructed to remain indoors or shelters while the thunderstorm continues.

66th-78th Trial

As the lightning remains relentless, the trials that follow are plagued with unending rains that continue to drench the city. Crops in the Stormlands are threatened by the copious amounts of rainfall that ensue, and the lightning still remains a threat to those that do not take caution while navigating the streets. Temperatures finally begin to fall as the humidity is no longer heavy, making the later trials deeply moist and wet to bear.

79th-83rd Trial

The humidity lightens and the lightning finally relents, but the rain continues its downpour with little end in sight. Temperatures remain low while the moisture seeps back into the city. This serves as a reminder to the people how winter has passed only a while ago.

84th-90th Trial

The rain has caused many dampened spirits and problematic flooding over the past trials, but much to everyone's delight, the showers at last begin to lighten and spread. As the rains begin to move on once more and allow room for the sun to come back in, Rharne is reminded that after every stormy night there lies a bright morning.

91st-104th Trial

What's left of the scattered showers finally part ways to allow clouds to roam. With the bulk of the precipitation having passed, locals praise Ilaren for the storm that occurred and return to their daily routines a little less drenched.

105th-123rd Trial

The locals praise the blessing of clear skies during the remainder of Ashan, as farmers make do with the extra rain they unexpectedly received. With temperatures still low and slightly damp, humidity begins to slowly move back in, signaling that the end of Ashan is approaching now.

Note

If you would like to help out in Rharne and plan the weather for next season, feel free to PM Rumour, Zenith, or Chronicle.
Event Calendar

Ashan 12:
A little-known mer tribe reveals itself as a few of its people are witnessed entering the city, their visit spent mainly within and around the Lightning Cathedral for the duration of their stay. Whispers throughout the city suggest they are looking for a member of their tribe.

Ashan 15:
More of the mer tribe starts to appear and develop a presence throughout Rharne, with their primary focus on a search for one of their own. Locals are asked if they've seen a mer with silver tipped fins on his arms anywhere, as their search moves deeper into the city.

Ashan 16:
The Lightning Knights are finally called to make an official investigation for the missing mer, as the tribe itself seems to be getting desperate to find the whereabouts of their lost kin. Along for the official investigation, people are asked to remain wary within the streets, as yet another shop has been unexpectedly shut down prior to a busy day.

Ashan 22:
The mer tribe grows edgy as their leader makes a diplomatic appearance and makes a request to press the search further, since the missing member has become a significant issue. Some of the local Rharnians are agitated at the constant request for aid from tribe members, while others offer what little they know in regards to the missing mer. However, no leads seem to surface.

Ashan 30:
While the tribe seems to take back to the lake, a local drinking tournament is held at the Bronze Boar. Those who are brave enough to participate are advised to bring a strong liver and a strong stomach! [Earn +5 fame for participating]

Ashan 35: (Event Sign up)
The Thunder Priestesses are calling for participants to sign up for a live event! A tournament is being put together to honor Ilaren and her blessings for the people of Rharne. [Earn +5 Devotion to Ilaren for signing up]

Ashan 40: (Event)
Sign ups for the tournament finish, and the preliminary rounds will be held within the trials to come. Participants are given ten trials to prepare.

Ashan 50: (Event)
The Thunder Games begin with the preliminary rounds. The Lightning Dome's stalls are packed with an eager audience. Participants are given introductions and help kick off the big event.

Ashan 60: (Event)
After the ten trial series of tournaments, the Thunder Games are finally brought to a close. The victor is given a sweet reward as well as bragging rights for the arc!

Ashan 64:
The mer tribe returns, this time insisting that people help locate their missing member. With the stormy weather brewing overhead, citizens prove far less helpful this time. Still, the mers' search continues with little rest, whether locals are willing to assist or not.

Ashan 65: (Event)
Lightning and thunder violently clash throughout the sky in an unnatural manner. The lingering storm seems centered over the lake as the Lightning Knights work diligently in redirecting lightning. Citizens are warned and instructed to remain indoors, since the lightning phenomena poses a high risk to the city.

Ashan 68:
With the worst of the lightning phenomena having passed, people are once again allowed out on the streets - though warnings are still issued for folks to remain wary, since being struck is still a possible. The Mer tribe resumes the search as word has now reached them that a Mer with silver tipped fins has been seen dwelling around the Lightning Cathedral.

Ashan 70:
The Knights request aid from the locals to help dig trenches in an effort to help divert the copious amounts of water in the city. With flooding now a prevalent issue, farmers are afraid their crops will suffer before the season's end. [Earn +5 fame for participating]

Ashan 74: (Quest Sign up)
The missing mer finally reveals himself and the mer tribe leader once again appears at the Lightning Cathedral. Later in the trial, a call is made for brave souls to take part in a risky endeavor, one that involves the participant to have decent swimming skills and good lung capacity.

Ashan 78th: (Quest)
The silver-finned mer and the champions who dive within the lake embark, with heavy hopes set on them as they make for an ancient sight embedded within.

Ashan 82:
After much flooding, the rains seem to lighten up. Trenches are also being dug to help direct excess water in the Dust Quarter. Volunteers are requested to help support the project. [Earn +5 fame for participating.]

Ashan 88:
The never-ending rain seems to have nearly disappeared. Farmers are eager to help their crops recuperate and promise local citizens monetary compensation if they can help repair the damaged farms in the Stormlands. [Earn +5 fame for participating.]

Ashan 115-120:
The Founder's Festival is set up within the Glass Quarter. Stalls and tables are set for a public banquet, and a feast is held day and night for five trials of Ashan to commemorate the Immortal Ilaren and the founding history of Rharne. The Festival is complete with speakers from various factions and businesses, busker performances, storytelling, and plenty of alcohol. Local taverns also hold a variety of fighting competitions throughout the city.

[Rharne] Ymiden 717 Seasonal Events

Ymiden 717 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne

1st-22nd Trial

Image
The sun that appears at the beginning of Ymiden is received with relief, thanks to a particularly rainy Ashan. Though the mornings often open with a cool breeze, the afternoons are warm and the nights are mild. Rharnians are frequently seen walking throughout the city with light jackets or no jacket at all.

23rd-34th Trial

Image
The weather shifts between sunny blue skies and gray clouds for what seems like three to five times a trial, and the city experience a series of surprise showers. The rains are brief and warm and are often followed by rainbows, much to the delight of the local children. Many Rharnians give up on knowing what to wear during these trials and just accept the high likelihood of getting caught in a brief rainstorm.

35th-37th Trial

Image
A series of thunderstorms roll in from the Stormlands, reminding many Rharnians of the all-too-recent floods. These thunderstorms are less ominous than Ashan’s, however, and serve as a reminder of Ilaren’s power when lightning cracks across the sky.

38th-56th Trial

Image
The days turn mild, with a warm breeze in the morning, and the nights become perfect patio weather. Rharnians cluster on beer gardens and in parks across the city, drinking the evenings away with joyful song and musical accompaniment whenever they can find it. It is warm enough to remain outside without a jacket for both day and night, and many Rharnian women don their sleeveless dresses.

57th-59th Trial

Image
Thunderstorms return to Rharne, and the city can barely sleep from the noise. Many claim to feel the mountain shake beneath their feet, and nothing but endless showers and gray clouds await those who dare to venture outside.

.

60th-73rd Trial

Image
Sun, blue skies, white clouds, and chirping birds are a constant during these trials. The weather is perfect for those who love the outdoors, and popular activities include short hikes, picnics, parties, and, of course, drinking. Red cheeks are a common sight throughout the city as many an unprepared Rharnian is hit with sunburn.

74th-83rd Trial

Image
The days becomes hotter, signaling the coming shift into Saun. The sun beats down overhead, and many Rharnians find sweat beading on their forehead when they go for anything longer than a short walk. The occasional breezes are welcomed, and the taverns in the Glass Quarter become more crowded as locals venture upward on the mountain to escape the heat.

Note

If you would like to help out in Rharne and plan the weather for next season, feel free to PM Rumour or Zenith.

Ymiden 1:
A parade to celebrate the beginning of Ymiden is led by members of the three core factions in Rharne and winds up the mountain from the Docks in the Dust Quarter all the way to the Sky Quarter, ending at the Lightning Cathedral. There is plenty of music, dancing, and laughter along the way, and citizens either join the parade themselves or throw flowers and rice at the marchers. Per tradition, the women wear bright beads and flower crowns, while the men wear colourful shirts and, often, beads of their own.

Ymiden 5:
Shopkeepers see a spike in demand for budgies, which have become one of the most coveted pets in Rharne thanks to their newfound popularity among the wealthy merchant class. These colourful birds are typically sold for 10gn in any marketplace or pet shop scattered throughout the city.

Ymiden 17:
A red-headed human is found beaten unconscious outside a shady bar in the Dust Quarter. The Lightning Knights are sent to investigate, but no witnesses are willing to talk.

Ymiden 26:
A series of bandit attacks target merchant caravans travelling from the Stormlands to the city of Rharne. The Lightning Knights increase the frequency of their patrols at the insistence of the Merchants Guild, and travelers are warned to be extra cautious.

Ymiden 34:
The Bronze Boar hosts a ranked bracket fighting tournament on the second floor of the tavern. The reward is 100gn for the winner, who must win 5 separate fights spaced throughout the trial. The tournament starts first thing in the morning and runs well into the evening. [+5 devotion to Ilaren for participating]

Ymiden 49:
Reports begin to flood in from the Stormlands that a total of five young adults travelling separately to the city of Rharne have gone missing since the beginning of the season. Rumour has it that Bahati Ekua, a known naerikk slaver who has escaped capture since Zi’da 716, is responsible and her bounty is increased to 400gn.

Ymiden 52 - 55:
Buskerfest comes to Rharne! It is an event filled with performance, spectacle, stories, and comedy. During the next four days and four nights, the streets in the Earth Quarter and Glass Quarter are lined with performers, including everything from musicians and singers to fire jugglers and acrobats to amateur joke tellers and magicians. Temporary booths selling a wide variety of snacks and alcohol pop up throughout the city, and traffic is slow to non-existent as spectators stop in the middle of the street to dance, laugh, or throw nel into hats. [+5 fame for performing]

Ymiden 64:
A list of Rharnians with varying levels of aukari blood is found nailed to the doors of businesses in every Quarter. The list proclaims “Traitor!” at the top. Those whose names are ‘outed’ on the list find themselves increasingly avoided or harassed for the rest of the season and, if they own a business, they may find that their profits begin to suffer.

Ymiden 73:
The Glass Market sees a new booth appear which claims to sell a potion that will cause those who drink it to fall in love with the first person they see. Each dose of the potion costs 5gn and the effects vary from person to person – causing obsession in some and mild lust in others – and last for 24 – 48 breaks before wearing off. A fair amount of domestic chaos occurs over the next few trials as some innocent revelers find their drinks unexpectedly spiked.

Ymiden 78: PC Event
A creature savagely attacks a bandit camp in the Stormlands, and rumours begin to spread that the monster slain during Ashan has come back to haunt the city.

Ymiden 81:
A half-aukari woman is found murdered in the Earth Quarter. She moved from Rynmere to Rharne several arcs ago, and found her name on the list that was circulated throughout the city on the 64th of Ymiden. Any who take it upon themselves to ask questions about her death may learn that a note was left next to her body. It read, “Aukari scum always get what they deserve.”

Ymiden 83:
The last trial of Ymiden before Saun begins.

Seasonal Events: Vhalar 717

Vhalar 717 Seasonal Events
Event Calendar

Vhalar 10th:
A scuffle breaks out in the Bronze Boar between a red haired human and a group of drunken individuals. There continues to be bad feeling towards those with red hair throughout the season as they are suspected of being Aukari.

Vhalar 45th - 52nd:
Annual Beer Festival: The Annual Beer Festival spans 7 trials between the 45th - 52nd of Vhalar, during which all citizens (with the exception of those who work in the service industry) are excused from work. During the day, the streets in the Earth Quarter and the Glass Quarter are lined with booths of brewers sampling and selling locally brewed beers as well as merchants from all over Idalos peddling their wares. In the evenings, taverns across Rharne are filled with revelers. High Priestesses from the Thunder Priestess faction often travel the city and encourage celebrations by sharing their Bottomless Wineskin ability from their Palenon blessings

Vhalar 80th:
Bandit activity has been steadily increasing over the last few seasons and, in Vhalar, it seems to become apparent that a number of nefarious sorts have been making their way into Rharne in order to work together on the 80th. On that trial, shops and business, inns and taverns, anywhere that makes money basically, are targeted and attacked. The groups who do this are well organised, efficient and skilled

Vhalar 84th:
The fall out from the attacks on the 80th includes a serious blow to the confidence of the citizens of Rharne in those who are protecting them. Troop numbers increase and there are the Knights are a much more common sight

Vhalar 95th:Moderated Thread
During the night of the 95th a series of raids occur on businesses not previously hit. Some Rharnian citizens see the opportunity for looting and others take up arms to aid the Knights!

Vhalar 100th
Throughout the season, no less than ten healthy young adults travelling separately to the city of Rharne have gone missing since the beginning of the season. Rumour has it that Bahati Ekua, a known naerikk slaver who has escaped capture since Zi’da 716, is responsible and her bounty is increased to 500gn.

Zi'da 717 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne

1st-22nd Trial

Zi'da begins rather quietly in 717. Cloudy but fairly pleasant weather is the order of the trial, although night time sees a drop in temperature. It has become the kind of weather where you'll want to make sure you have a jacket when you go out - but you won't yet need to be wrapped up in hat, scarf and gloves unless you really feel the chill.

23rd-26th Trial

Flurries of rain are prevalent in this time - they tend to be sudden onset and last for a break or two. Combined with the drop in temperature this means they are sometimes almost sleet-like in consistency.

27th-45th Trial

A brief spate of warm weather is welcomed by Rharnians, soft clouds wisp across the sky and the weather is briefly nice enough that being outdoors is once again pleasant. A short while of almost-autumnal weather is welcomes in all Quarters.

46th-55th Trial

The days turn cloudy once more and the port winds begin to increase. Both the days and the nights have an uncomfortable chill. The transition from warm weather to cool weather is always an unpleasant one, and many take to the taverns to complain about the change.

56th-62nd Trial

And so the snows begin. Rharnians leave home in boots and a thick cloak to ward off the weather as the thick flakes fall. Day and night it is equally likely that there will be a sudden snow shower. In between them, though, the crisp air is somehow pleasant and full of promise as the "12 Trials of Zi'da" adds to the generally positive feeling.
.

63rd-87th Trial

The snow disappears, but the wind remains. The trials grow colder and colder, and it becomes clear that Cylus is on its way. Those living in the Dust Quarter do their best to patch up the holes in their walls and roofs in preparation for the season change.

88th-89th Trial

A fierce snowstorm blows in from the north and coats the city in a thick layer of white snow. The Glass Quarter and the Sky Quarter are hit the hardest, with many residents waking up on the morning of the 88th to find themselves snowed in. The snowstorm continues until early morning on the 90th trial.

90th-93rd Trial

A light snow continues on and off throughout the remaining trials of Zi'da. Citizens remained bundled up in heavy clothing as a result of the constant cold winds coming in from the Stormlands and Lake Lovalus.

Note

If you would like to help out in Rharne and plan the weather for next season, feel free to PM Rumour, Zenith or Peg.
1st Zi'da:
The Lightning Knights' presence in the Dust Quarter has increased as a result of the attacks in Vhalar. This is most noticeable in the Glass Quarter.

16th Zi'da:
An impromptu party breaks out in the Earth Quarter. It spills into the Glass Quarter and there is an evening of celebrating together. People who would not normally rub shoulders put aside differences of class and prestige.

27th Zi'da:
A group of gypsies set up a small market in the Earth Quarter. There are rumours that they sell unusual wares, things from far and wide, often not found in Rharne.

35th Zi'da: Moderated
An unarmed combat tournament dedicated to Ilaren is held at the Lightning Dome. Many believe that competing in the tournament is one of the most important rituals to honour Ilaren. The event lasts the full day and is open to any resident or visitor who can pay the 5gn fee to compete. The winner is awarded a 100gn purse, along with bragging rights for the remainder of the season.

46th Zi'da:Moderated
One of the gypsies from the Earth Quarter sets up a tent, offering her fortune telling services.

50th Zi'da:
The first trial of Rharne's annual "12 Trials of Zi'da" holiday (Dust theme). The Zi'da Market officially opens its doors and, in honour of the theme, an unplanned party kicks off in the Dust Quarter. Many are surprised to see the poor and the wealthy mingling together in drunken peace for the second time in one season.

53rd Zi'da:
The fourth trial of Rharne's annual "12 Trials of Zi'da" holiday (Earth theme). Not ones to be outdone, the residents of the Earth Quarter crowd the local taverns after hearing about the Dust Quarter's impromptu party on the 50th of Zi'da. The Bronze Boar finds itself filled with patrons from all Quarters. This arc, they don't run out of beer, having learned their lesson last arc.

57th Zi'da:
The eighth trial of Rharne's annual "12 Trials of Zi'da" holiday (Future theme). Rumours are spreading about the accuracy of the gypsy woman in the tent and her uncanny ability to read palms.

61st Zi'da:
The last trial of Rharne's annual "12 Trials of Zi'da" holiday (Blue theme). A ceremony is held at the Lightning Cathedral between the 10th and 11th break in celebration.

65th Zi'da:
A new fashion begins to sweep the Inns and Taverns of Rharne: the "flame of Ilaren" challenge. This involves drinking a spirit of some description, usually brandy or whiskey, holding it in one's mouth, and setting light to it there. Casualties occur from this.

70th Zi'da:
The gypsies who had arrived earlier in the season pack up and leave.

74th Zi'da:
Trade and tourism begin to slow as the season grows colder. The bars tend to be filled more with locals than with travelers and are somewhat less busy than usual. The dip in tourists does not, however, affect the demand for alcohol. Requests for whiskey spike to a seasonal high.

83rd Zi'da:
The Merchants' Guild holds a public meeting, seeking the opinion of the local populace on what businesses they would like to see in Rharne and what people think local needs are. There are whispers that this is actually a means of trying to recruit more members to the ubiquitous Shadow Quarter.

88th Zi'da:
Thunder Priestesses report finding a pair of newborn twins outside the Cathedral at just gone midnight. Concern for their mother is high, as is the need to find a home for this pair of newborns.

93rd Zi'da:
The last trial of Zi'da before Cylus begins.

Cylus 718 Seasonal Events

Note

If you would like to help out in Rharne and plan the weather for next season, feel free to PM Rumour, Zenith, or Pegasus.
1st Cylus:
First trial of the new season. The citizens of Rharne light candles in their windows in an effort to stave off the impending darkness. This is also the trial where the Festival of Lights is celebrated. Though the trials are dark, Rharnians know that hope will always exist so long as there is light - and alcohol. This hope is symbolized on the first trial of Cylus when many Rharnians gather at the gates of Rharne to celebrate the "Festival of Lights".

6th Cylus:
The Rharne Merchants' Guild announces that, at the end of Ashan, there will be a Tournament in the name of Ilaren. There will be sporting events, contests of skill and many other events. Prizes will be given to those who earn the Immortal's gaze, for Ilaren will be a spectator.

7th Cylus:
Notices go up around Rharne, warning citizens of a small group of individuals who are impersonating Lightning Knights.

14th Cylus:
A public meeting is held, giving details of Ilaren's Tournament.

17th Cylus:
With freezing temperatures and constant darkness, as well as talk of a rich tournament which will benefit them not at all, there is unrest in the Dust Quarter, where small groups of protesters start demanding a better lifestyle for all Rharnians.

24th Cylus:
A young girl of a wealthy family is kidnapped from her Glass Quarter home. Rumours abound that this was perpetrated by Dust Quarter gangs, expressing their disaffection.

29th Cylus: Moderated
Celia Du'phonse, the young girl kidnapped on the 24th is still missing. A call goes up for people to help find her.

30th Cylus
The last trial of Cylus.

Note: Players are welcome to self-moderate any calendar event unless "Moderated" is indicated next to the date.

Cylus 720 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne

Cylus: Weather in Rharne this season would normally dive into extreme cold - in fact, most citizens of Rharne have already prepared for it, given the blizzard that rocked the city in the previous arc, stocked up on warm ale and thick fur coats. Unusually, however, this Cylus is uncharacteristically warm... and as a result, suffers from extreme and dangerous storms that rake through the city every trial of the season. High winds tear through the streets and storms alternate between pelting the streets with rain and icicles, making any journeys ill-advised. Thin but slippery ice covers every surface and the city grinds to a halt under the extreme and unrelenting storms.
Cylus Event Calendar

ImageImageImageImage

1st Cylus: Festival of Lights
Though the trials are dark, Rharnians know that hope will always exist so long as there is light - and alcohol. This hope is symbolized on the first trial of Cylus when many Rharnians gather at the gates of Rharne to celebrate the "Festival of Lights".

4th Cylus: The Last Soldiers of Storm's Edge
While the Invasion and the Siege of Storm’s Edge within the previous arc was successfully repelled, Storm’s Edge has been hit hard, and has barely had a moment to recover. With the constant threat of Flameborn growing stronger by the day, the Lightning Knights have banded together for a last stand at what remains of Storm’s Edge, and are desperately calling for aid.

If Storm’s Edge cannot be saved by the end of this Cycle, it will fall, and destruction will begin.
Note - Storm's Edge
Note: Further details on activities that can aid the Lightning Knights in their struggle will be forthcoming.
7th Cylus: Ceasefire

Now that the War of Death and Souls has finished and the Rharnians involved have returned, a celebration is being planned to honour the brave souls that participated, and to wash in a new wave of prosperity to the city. All the taverns and stores throw open their doors and the streets are crowded with partying folk in bright clothes - especially around the Earth Quarter.
As a perhaps-unintended side-effect of their victory over Ellasin, more mages have begun to appear in Rharne, emerging from hiding. Fire-spitting Defiers are found openly performing in the streets, while Transmuters peddle strange artefacts and Rupturers Blink through the crowds. With the dangers of Ellasin in the past, suddenly everything seems a little bit brighter.

10th Cylus: The Wandering Dead.

A warning against travelling alone in the Stormlands is issued after a cart discovers a prone corpse lying at the side of the road, only for it to jump up and attack the occupants when they stop to investigate. It's believed that some of the necromancy thralls may have escaped the War and are now wandering the Stormlands, attacking innocent passers-by.

12th Cylus: Fields of Flame

Unexpected, bright blue flames shoot up near Mistral Village, threatening to breach the Mistral Woods and cause damage to the woodland. These flames are freezing cold and cause freezeburns to anyone that comes into contact with them. Justiciars and civilians rush to prevent the spread from encroaching on the village grounds and save the woodland from harm; afterwards, some villagers begin to speak of strange figures peering at them from deep within the woods.

13th Cylus: Panic! at the Village

Volta is awoken by an earthquake. A huge, monstrous shadow is seen circling the mouth of the River Zynyx, knocking the hulls of boats and creating huge waves. All fishing boats are moored until the beast passes, and villagers are told to stay back and avoid contact.

17th Cylus: A Beery Big Problem

The storms are so severe that regular supplies are being interrupted from the outer villages. Rharne's stockpiles are beginning to look a little low! Some outraged civilians begin to criticize poor management of the supplies, while taverns are quick to blame the couriers for not arriving with fresh ingredients before the storm hit. Tensions remain high until the next supply run successfully restocks the shelves.

20th - 24th Cylus: The Big Freeze

The city is battered by a particularly powerful storm that the people begin to refer to as B'thar, or the Spitestorm. Sharp icicles barrage the streets and split wood with its strength, forcing people to stay indoors. The few that stay outside speak of a man-shaped figure walking through the streets of the Glass Quarter, in the very heart of the storm, and wonder if there is more to B'thar than meets the eye. Once B'thar passes through Rharne, it travels east, across the Stormlands, hitting Caervalle Village on 27th, and reaching the Stormwastes by the end of Cylus.

25th Cylus: The Pants Pirate.

Residents of Rharne are finding their pants disappearing... while they're currently wearing them! The thief seems adept at removing clothes while the victim is still wearing them, often in broad daylight and in public, leaving their victim caught in their underwear in the middle of the street. After several extremely embarrassing incidents, the culprit is hunted down by the public and revealed to be nothing more than a dirty-minded prankster.

30th Cylus: Out of the Frying Pan...
The last trial of Cylus before Ashan begins, and the beginning of further battles to come...

Ashan 720 Seasonal Events
Weather in Rharne

Ashan: With little snow to cover the land, Ashan kicks into an early high around the 30th of the season, thawing the last of the deep Cylus freeze to make way for an early mild spell. Greenery and vegetation begins to colour the landscape of the Stormlands, encouraging more time outside, and the heavy black clouds pull back to reveal a soft blue sky.

Occasional showers persist, making it a wetter Ashan than usual, but they never last more than half a trial and aren't enough to cause flooding. Cooling winds are persistent, even in excellent conditions, and pick up especially towards the latter half of the season, making hats rather unfashionable for the way they keep getting knocked off.

Overall, the pleasant, bright and surprisingly warm features of Ashan encourage plenty of activity, almost as if trying to make up for the small nightmare of Cylus.
Ashan Event Calendar

ImageImageImageImage
4th Ashan: All Drugged Up And Nowhere To Go

Rharne has just become the breeding ground for a new and experimental drug! Unfortunately it's not the kind that give you superpowers or anything. The new substance, referred to only as Juice, causes random and sudden bursts of uncontrollable hyperactivity. Unfortunately, the creators haven't quite perfected its uses... and therefore, while the side-effects seem to be minimal, these sudden bursts of super-activity can occur several trials after the user has taken their dose, and is resulting in some quite hilarious scenes around the city.

37th Ashan: The First Assault

More information to come on this event dependent upon the outcomes of the Storm's Edge challenge.

40th Ashan: Voodoo That You Do

A suspicious and inexpiable death comes to an even more suspicious and inexpiable conclusion - the murder, a deranged man claiming to speak with trees and listen to metal, has committed murder without ever being in the same room as the subject. Many are baffled, accusing the man of being a mage - however, nobody can figure out which magic, if truly any, he uses. Speculative claims suggest that he might be using a new type of magic that nobody has ever seen before.

56th Ashan: The Arc of the Wardens

Lake Lovalus has begun to hum ominously. Residents are being told to avoid getting too close, though nobody can really tell what's happening.

69th Ashan: The Second Assault

77th Ashan: Shadow Over Caervalle

A giant shadow covers the entirety of Caervalle in a single swoop. Nobody's quite sure what to make of it, and Justiciars don't seem certain what could have possibly done such a thing, since nothing that big could possibly live nearby... right?

81st Ashan: The Brawling Championship

Drinks! Parties! And best of all, brawling! Yes, it's time for the first ever soon-to-be-annual Ashan Brawling Championship. One at a time, every single bar in Rharne is going to be hosting their own series of bare-knuckle brawls, each with their own unique twists! The prize for the winner is free alcohol for the rest of the arc, and there are some pretty neat runner-up prizes up for grabs as well. Just make sure to bring your best pair of gloves, because the competition is looking particularly rough this arc.
Note - Brawling Championship Schedule
Note: Further details on the specific schedule are forthcoming - if you're interested, please send a PM to Basilisk or Squirrel!

Re: [Rharne] Seasonal Events Archive

Ymiden 720 Seasonal Events

Ymiden 1:
In the last few trials of Ashan, the assaults on Storm's Edge have decreased in size and frequency. It would seem that the assault has been successfully repelled and the siege has been broken... until scouts report of a new creature looming on the horizon, causing a day of blind panic and forcing the full force of the Lightning Knights to return to the capitol to control the civilians. Further information on this new threat is forthcoming.

The reward is 5WP for the winner, who must win 5 separate fights spaced throughout the trial. The tournament starts first thing in the morning and runs well into the evening.
