Located at almost exactly the mid-point of the eastern shore of Faldrass, just north of the Sentry, Haven is a small but rapidly growing coastal settlement, situated just off the orange sands of Faldrass. Founded by Balthazar Black in Cylus 721, the settlement is now lead by his wife, Elisabeth Angelus Black.
A small collection of homes welcome those that visit. To the north of the settlement is Blackstone Cove, a cozy inlet surrounded by trees and rock, offering a peaceful setting to those seeking a bit of solace. Towering over the Cove stand a series of small peaks and flats that are collectively called Hollow's Ridge.
To the west sits Munny Farm, a growing crop enterprise that seems to continually expand. Nearby, nestled back against the surrounding wood, sits the beautiful living gazebo - Immortal's Embrace. Holy ground, the Haven settlers can often found coming and going throughout the trial, considering it part of the daily routine.
A warm, inviting community, Haven serves as home to one of the University's research stations, as well as a growing clam farm. Always full of activity, Haven's focus on growing and providing a nurturing place for people to come and feel a part of something special is ever-present when one visits.

He is a Scalvoris native who has spent more time traveling among the islands for work than he has living on one. He settled down on Faldrass shortly before the eruption that nearly destroyed the island, the same eruption that cost him his home and everything he'd been working towards his whole life. However Bran is a determined, hard-headed individual. When he sets his mind to a task, he gets the job done. While displaced by the disaster on Faldrass, Bran worked around Beacon as a builder and craftsman. When rumors began to circulate about settlers going back to Faldrass, Bran thought the idea was crazy but he also saw a lot of opportunity. Opportunity to reclaim what was lost and build a better future. It was the latter that drew him to Haven where he lives now and works as a builder.

Details: Gilbert was born and raised on Faldrass. He spent his entire youth hoping that one trial he would forge something to put the other smiths on the island to shame and he never did. He passed from smithy to smithy trying to become an apprentice and was turned away after a short while in each location. Sooner or later every master he worked under came to take issue with the same problem, Gilbert had a gambling problem. His issue transcended simple games and began to affect his work. He took risks he did not need to and materials were wasted that should not have been. Gilbert will always insist that without taking risks, there is no way to get better but that was never enough comfort for the forge masters who lost the material due to his poor decisions. Gilbert eventually tried to settle down on Faldrass and begin his own forge in the shadow of Forbick, but the eruption destroyed his home. When he heard that settlers were preparing to go back to Faldrass he leapt at the opportunity to join them, confident, as he always was, that he'd be the best blacksmith among them. Gilbert is marked by a remarkable confidence and a 'nothing can't be fixed' attitude. No matter how bad things get, he always presents a confident front as if he has the situation under control... even when he clearly does not.
