I think this is the first Jasper thread I've reviewed, and it was a pleasure. His religion and his clan are clearly important to him. I enjoyed your description of the dedication ritual, and how you explored the theme of reconciling old and new ways, of respecting old and new spirits.
The NPCs were fun to get to know, especially Astra.

Winston
Winston as a fairy! Who needs jet packs? He clearly has a quirky and caring personality, to go with his incessant tinkering. I thought the sequence where he felt bad about not getting anything for Conlan's birth trial, and promising not to let it happen again, was sweet. I guess it makes sense that a cadouri would be at pains to give gifts.

A thumpless thread for Vega. Her love of children and family shines through here, as does her sense of clan; it was a nice bit of connection between her and Jasper to have that in common, I thought. That carved chest sounds like a wonderful gift. Jasper can use it to store Winston's cake!
