Known Bugs!

Hello!

So - despite testing and testing again - we have found a few bugs. I'm going to post here what we know about / are aware of and leave this open for any we miss.

We know about:

1. The new BBCode thread makes a password box pop up. You can cancel that and you're on the thread.
2. Thread titles have vanished from the top of posts within a thread.
3. Light theme: menus have changed from black on white (pre-update) to very pale grey on white (post-update) and it makes them quite hard to read.
4. Light theme: Breadcrumb menu, making a selection blanks out the name of that selection. The ability to go to that forum is not affected.
5. The "My Posts" list no longer shows forums
6. "Moving" images in boxcodes (where you scroll and the image shifts) aren't working.
7. Topic Tags are not working for anyone but me (assigning them, that is).
8. If I backpage out of a thread, and then switch characters, the new character ends up on the thread I left rather than the page I was actually looking at when I switched.

Nature of bug: If I backpage out of a thread, and then switch characters, the new character ends up on the thread I left rather than the page I was actually looking at when I switched.

That is SO weird. I've added it to the list!

Nature of bug: Old saved drafts automatically load when replying to a thread without selecting 'load draft' or 'load quick draft'
Does it happen on more than one account? So far only Pyrre's but I believe it's due to the drafts on this account being saved after the update
Is it persistent or intermittent? Persistent

This isn't world breaking but it is odd and a little annoying. I believe it might have to do with the new quick draft additions? Thanks!

Ok - this is an odd one!

This isn't happening for me (I've checked, I have saved drafts etc). Could you confirm what browser you're using, as it might be browser specific?

Also- could you go to your UCP >> Board Preferences >>> Auto Drafts and tell me what settings you have there, please?

Welp, that explains it lol. I hadn't poked around enough to see that this was a setting that could be changed. Apologies for thinking it was a bug! I will turn it off and report back if there are any further issues involving auto drafts!

Another funky thing I have noticed is that this account (and Visna's) shift between being visible and invisible when I swap between them, despite whatever settings are enabled. It usually takes a couple of refreshes or clicking through to other topics for it to change to the setting I've chosen for said account. It could just be my browser/cache issues? I'm happy to hope on firefox to see if I can recreate any of the above if you'd like! Or an incognito tab.

Tech Guy and I have spent some time bug busting and I'm pleased to report we've got through a bunch of them!


Solved!

1. The new BBCode thread makes a password box pop up. You can cancel that and you're on the thread.

4. Topic Tags are not working for anyone but me (assigning them, that is).
5. The "Code" code was making things over-spill - it's now fixed
6. The list of Tags on dark theme were impossible to read.

Nature of bug: While viewing posts on mobile, most user posts no longer fit to the phone screen, forcing a reader to awkwardly scroll left to right to read each sentence.

Does it happen on more than one account? I believe so. It occurs, at least for me, whether I’m signed into my account or not.

Link to a post / thread where bug occurs Pick your poison. It seems that it is unbothered but some post sizes, but most are affected.

This isn’t the biggest deal in the world, and maybe I’m the only one that almost exclusively views the site on a phone unless I’m writing a post. Or maybe I’m the only who who experiences this bug. I imagine it’s just a wonky oversight with a change to mobile compatibility, or something specific with iOS that occurred at the same time. It is extremely cumbersome to a point it’s just easiest to not read from a phone at all though, and it would be a shame if that deterred others from viewing what the writers on the site have to offer.
