Account Email Update "Bug"

So.

I went to update my email on this account. It went fine, as expected. Received the verification email and followed it to verify/reactivate the account. Upon completing this and logging in, however, I see that it has autogenerated an additional blank CS, set that CS as the new link in my profile field, and resent the Welcome PM. I'm not entirely sure this is a bug per se, but it did seem a little odd to occur when simply updating an email address.
