Rú'na stands at 5ft 6inch, bearing a well-made frame, which belies her blacksmithing profession; toned in the limbs, wide in the hips, and rough in her hands. While there is a grounded, earthy feel to her presence, there is a lightness in her movements that says she has not lost the agility of youth, not nearly yet. A hint of the natural problem-solver in her is ever present in her furrowed brow, and contemplative gaze; her dark brown eyes are set against a deeply tan complexion, under a mane of light brown, wavy hair that reaches below her shoulder blades. The sev-ryn shows her heritage in the braids she weaves into her hair, and wearing beaded neck chokers and bracelets. In her line of work, practicality wins out and she is more often seen in a messy bun, comfortable layers, and glowing with sweat. Typically, Rú'na wears loosely fitted pants and tunics in breathable light wools, and a heavy buckskin duster coat and leather boots when she goes out, with a preference for neutral shades most days, but will surprise all with a striking silk dress on rare occasions. Overall Rú'na looks relaxed in herself; expressionate of whatever emotion pervades her inner-landscape, and quick to act on her feelings.
P R E - P O S T S T O R Y
Rú'na was born in the Hotlands, half a day's ride from Nashaki. Her mother was a slave where she worked in a bath-house for the wealthy in the city, and where Rú'na came to be conceived. She doesn't know who her father is; her mother told her he is sev'ryn, and from the scraps of stories she can piece together from her mother, a lovable rogue who had made grand promises of rescue to her mother from that life in servitude, alas, a promise which was never fulfilled. Rú'na used to dream of her father's return, hoping to meet him one day, and for her and her mother to be whisked away by him to lands anew. As she matured into her teen years, though, the fantasy wore wearily on her heart. Her mother was content with their life; they were treated well, and had purpose, but Rú'na's heart kindled other dreams.
When she was in her fourteenth arc, Rú'na charmed her way into a blacksmith's home and business. A human man, who had lost his wife and daughter in a storm on his journey to Nashaki, where he had had dreams of adventure and fortune. Alvar, he was called, and he reared Rú'na to soothe his grief. Rú'na adapted to the blacksmith way of life well, finding enjoyment in the creativity and hard work. After some years, though, a growing desire to leave Nashaki grew in her, and as it turned out, the burning desire to meet her father was not quite diminished. When Rú'na visited her mother, to speak about this angst, her mother told her about the Osẹ-bori and Moseke, and the beginning of their culture. As she spoke about the traditional sev'ryn way of life in Desnind, she gifted Rú'na a pendant necklace, which had been kept hidden from her. It was a gold chain, on which hung a tiger's eye stone, and an oval gold pendant with strange, runic markings around its circumference—a small clue towards her father's identity.
Rú'na, now twenty arcs, and enthralled by the questions the necklace riled up in her, and consumed by the deep draw towards her familiar, told Alvar of her desires to leave. Heartbroken, but understanding, Alvar set her on her journey. Rú'na journeyed far, guided by the currents of her spiritual heart, often opportunistically trading her skills for passage on the way. The young sev'ryn began the discovering of who she was in the misadventures of her travels on her way to Scalvoris, where her story begins.

Rú'na is wild at heart, a sev'ryn who knows so little about her people's traditional way of life, and who is just beginning to explore who she is herself. Working in the blacksmithing industry has taught her to be bold with her actions, to pour her heart into her craft, and so that is the way she lives her life. Rú'na is expressionate, wearing her heart on her sleeve, she is quick to love, however, she's quite sensitive as well, insecure in many ways, which inevitably gets her into trouble. Never ready to settle and be still, the sev'ryn is seeking her familiar, and a tenable grasp of her roots. The sev'ryn hammers out her sense of self against the anvil of adventure, hoping to discover what she is made of, whilst painfully aware of her own inexperience.
