The Naerikk have no language to call their own- just non-verbal communication based on the natural understanding of each other and their keen awareness of body language. However, Asari had to learn a spoken language as she grew up, to interact with others more clearly. Therefore, she learned Common, a common language everywhere. She excelled at it. As she grew even older, however, she discovered that Grovokian was what most Naerikk spoke and what her mother could speak, and she wanted to learn it, too. She's tried to begin learning it, but has had trouble grasping it, so it's broken for now.
Partners: While many Naerikk keep slaves, particularly male sex slaves to serve as their baby daddies, Asari has no interest of the sort. As she hasn't found a lover yet, and has not taken any slaves, she has no partners. Yet.
Sexuality: Bisexual with a strong leaning for females; Asari has only ever been interested in females, though she has laid with men for reproductive purposes. She may consider a male if she likes him enough, but so far that hasn't happened. Mostly because every male she's met has hated her for being a Naerikk.

Appearance
The Naerikk are beautiful by many standards, even if that beauty is deadly. Asari is no different. Standing at only 5'1, she's rather short, but she's slender. She's small in a graceful kind of way, very quick and light on her feet- small feet at that, with equally small hands but long fingers. Asari loves nail art and often has long, painted nails. She also loves to change her hair. It's naturally a long, deep dark black, framing her face and her lovely ice blue eyes. However, she often dyes it. She's had it blonde and pink, mostly. Her hair is very precious to Asari. However, most would pay even more attention to her makeup. Asari often has beautiful makeup, like the floral pattern of face paint she keeps. It goes from the right side of her neck all the way up the side of her face, curling around her right eye. It's often depicting leaves, but sometimes looks more like feathers. It's also always the same color as the rest of her makeup. So it's pink if she has pink eye shadow and lipstick on, or bright aqua blue, or black. Really just depends on her mood, but her face is almost never bare in public. That honor is reserved for people she's particularly close with.
Asari has a small beauty mark on her cheek, as well as some small dimples. She has fair skin for the most part, and currently no tattoos or scars. Other than her Naerikk tattoos, of course, that allow her to live outside of Augiery. But she rarely shows those to anyone. She often dresses in tight clothing, something that is easy to get around in but won't get her caught on anything or be easy to grab. Long leggings, tight tank tops and long sleeved sweaters. She's fond of jewelry, often having bracelets and a necklace on, though usually not earrings. Sometimes she'll wear a cropped jacket. She loves dresses, but rarely wears them unless it's a special occasion. She knows they'll slow her down. Often she wears a corset, or leather armor.
Personality

Asari is both a Naerikk yet not a Naerikk- which causes for a conflicting personality. Yet she rocks her own weirdness. On one hand, Asari is a Naerikk. She's fierce, in a beautiful way. In the kind of way that makes people stop and stare in awe. Asari exudes confidence, she's always very sure of herself- though not exactly arrogant, because she also knows her downfalls. She's highly intelligent- and witty, always with a sharp tongue. If there's a way to turn words around, Asari could do it. In a way that makes her manipulative, but Asari thinks of it as... persuasive. She knows what she wants in life, and she's determined and tenacious enough to get it. Asari is not an easy person to turn down.
Asari is the life of any part. She's vibrant, outgoing, living each trial without regrets. She's a bit of a wanderer, always wanting to go new places, explore new things. She's definitely a party girl, who loves to experience the good in life. Asari isn't fond of bad emotions, and in fact doesn't know how to deal with them very well. However, she wants to be honest to herself, even when not being honest to others. She has a very big moral code that may include things that aren't entirely moral, but rather has one goal: Be true to herself. The only problem is that she's still discovering what her own truth is.
Asari tries very hard to be a good person. Even though she has instincts that tell her not to, even if she has the underlying personality traits that could make her manipulative, dishonest, conniving... she tries to be different. She can come off as pretty ambivalent, though. Kind of like a source of mischief- good values, but definitely a bit of an actress in everyday life. She loves laughter, and she's very sassy. Asari is brave in the way that, most of the time, she has no shame. She'll just kind of go for it, coming up with whatever scheme for the sake of her goal.
Asari actually is quite perky and playful, especially in her voice. Even when she's swearing, it's almost comical. She also sounds younger than she is, kind of like a teenager.

Now, let's talk about some of Asari's opinions.
Immortals - Asari is actually very spiritual. Not many people think she is, but she is superstitious and very deeply believes that the immortals see everything people do. Actually it kind of freaks her out. Don't be surprised to see her gasp when she witnesses someone doing something and say, "____ will have your head for that!" or "Wow, _____ will love to see your devotion." Asari is very stuck in her beliefs and she is very aware of what will earn favor with which immortals... and what will earn disfavor.
Mortal Born - Now... this is a drastically different opinion from the immortals- Asari doesn't believe in Mortal Born. She just... doesn't believe that immortals would ever have kids with regular people. She's never met a Mortal Born, either, which solidifies this belief.
Mixed Breeds - Be prepared for a lot of jokes. Asari is very conflicted about this. On one side- her darker side- she wants to laugh at Mixed Breeds and say, "Was your mama so ugly she wasn't wanted by her own race?" The Naerikk are very... Naerikk oriented. Other races are beneath them, and while Asari struggles not to have this viewpoint, part of her has that in the back of her mind. But her better side knows that she herself is a mixed breed- with her father having been an Ellune. She knows that mixed breeds are all Naerikk, Lotharro, and that many people have mixed blood. So she tries to be nice... but at the same time, she can come up with some pretty nasty jokes that verge on insults.
Mages - With her mother doing what she did, Asari wanted to hate mages. She wanted to call them untrustworthy, power hungry, corrupted. But she can't. She loves magic, she loves the idea of learning it. Deep down, she wants to follow her mother's footsteps in this regard. But what happened in Nashaki terrifies her... even in other parts of Idalos, it's constantly on Asari's mind that if she chooses to practice magic, she won't find many safe places. Her life will always be in danger, and she currently isn't sure if she wants to take that risk.
Piracy - Hey, as long as they aren't pirating her, Asari doesn't really care. Have to get coin somehow, right?
Killing - Asari wants to say she'd be squeamish about this. That she would scream at the sight of blood, that she would feel so guilt ridden about taking another person's life that her own life would crumble. She wishes she were that weak. In truth, blood and death have never bothered her. Asari has a very "It's you or me" mentality towards it. In war, you have to fight if you want to live. Asari wants to live, so if it was a choice between killing someone and dying? Well... they say you're even more famous after death, so Asari is sure she's doing that other person a favor.
Other Races - Wow, where to start? How about we go by race?
- Avriel - Tall, winged, beautiful... and with the personality only a mother could love. Asari thinks Avriel are nasty creatures, ones she tries to avoid being around all together.
- Biqaj - What's not to like? Asari loves the biqaj for their free lifestyles, their habits of drinking and drugs, their color changing eyes. She wishes her dad had been a Biqaj so she might have those color changing eyes.
- Eidisi - They're... blue? Asari finds the Eidisi a little creepy. The whole blue skin kind of makes her a little wary of them.
- Ellune - Freezing, tall, sorrowful people? In Asari's opinion, they're kind of a downer. She tries to avoid them, but she'll be polite if she meets one. Then again, her dad was an Ellune so... she tries not to be too rude.
- Humans - Deep down, Asari envies humans for their normal. They're so common that everyone has neither a good nor bad opinion of them, they're just neutral. Then, their actions form what people think of them. Asari wishes she could have the same opportunity.
- Hyludin - Asari has the same opinion of Hyludin as she does of Mortalborns- she stubbornly insists they don't exist.
- Ithecal/Raskithecal - Asari has a pretty big distrust of the Ithecal. They're a little too good in her opinion. Too honorable, too trusting, too... perfect. She doesn't trust them because of this.
- Mer - The jokes Asari could come up with for the Mer are endless. All in all, though, she likes them. They're kind of slimy to her but... well, who isn't?
- Aukari - Asari loves the Aukari. She loves their heat, their red hair, their fire. She also would love to visit Sirothelle someday. But in truth, Asari also feels a kinship of sorts to the Aukari. In her opinion, they're hated almost as much as the Naerikk.
- Qi'ora - Hot damn would Asari love to meet more Qi'ora. She thinks they're pretty amazing.
- Sev'ryn - The Sev'ryn don't like her very much. Asari thinks the Sev'ryn are a bunch of racists. They keep to themselves, they distrust Naerikk and Aukari... Asari would like to like the Sev'ryn but she also thinks they're hypocritical of their own so-called values.
- Tunawa - Tiny tree people, Asari likes to call them. She actually loves the tunawa, and has been known to get along better with them than the Sev'ryn. In a lot of ways, Asari could picture herself as a tunawa... it seems like it'd be a happier, simpler life.
- Wisps - Being the spiritual person Asari is... she knows better than to mess with ghosts. Nothing good can come of hanging out with Wisps, and Asari is putting a lot of energy into avoiding them.
- Yludih - One of the coolest people in the world to Asari. Shapeshifting crystal people? Yes please! Asari would be thrilled to meet one of these people. On more than one occasion she's accused a random person of being a Yludih in disguise.
Sexuality - Asari is a complex person to understand. She likes both genders, but for a long time she leaned towards women. She hadn't met a man who hadn't looked at her with scorn- plus, she had the Naerikk instinct to hate men. Not all men, however, are unappealing. Asari is just trying to work past that opinion.
Asari likes and dislikes many things. She likes music and dancing, she likes alcohol, she likes feeling high. She likes big cities and beautiful places. She dislikes rude people, snobby people, people who hold hateful opinions of Naerikk and mages. Asari isn't a difficult person to understand... most of the time.
History
Asari's life starts with her mother, Nerinda. Born into a prominent family in Augiery, Nerinda had a life of luxury in her native city. Nerinda came from a prominent, old family, very well respected and wealthy in Augiery. It was at the tender age of fifteen that Nerinda decided she wanted to become a healer. She excelled at it, in fact, and soon learned Graft Magic. However, when she was twenty-two, she fell in love with an Ellune slave named Sylvain. The Ellune loved her back, and Nerinda- who was very sweet and naive back then- thought they could be together forever. But everything changed when an Aukari burst into flames on night. It had been one of her sister's- she had four sisters- slaves, and it set their home aflame in minutes. Nerinda stood outside with a tear stained face, screaming to Audrae and any immortal who would listen as her love died in the flames. When the fire was out, she could barely even recognize his remains. For the next season, Nerinda was filled with despair and sunk into a deep depression. In her sorrow, she began to try learning necromancy, obsessed with bringing Sylvain back so they could be a happy family. However, she went too far. She began to prey on her fellow Naer, killing in secret to use their bodies as practice subjects. Even when she found out she was pregnant, she would not stop. It was her eldest sister who found out- when she walked in on Nerinda holding a knife to her heavily pregnant belly, about to sacrifice Asari to bring Sylvain back. Her sister managed to stop her, while Nerinda screamed out in madness, "Stop! Stop, I have to do this! What is the life of one fetus- we can make more! Sylvain can come back to me and we will have many daughters, this one doesn't matter!" It was clear she wasn't in the right state of mind, because the Nerinda her family knew would never have said such things.
After being stopped, Nerinda confessed to the deaths of ten other Naerikk who she had used for her magic. It was a long debate on what her fate would be- but ultimately, the fact that she was pregnant saved her. The Naerikk are survivors, and they would never turn away their own, and Nerinda's family had pull. So Nerinda was given a deal: She could stay in Augiery for her pregnancy and the first three seasons of her daughter's life, but then her daughter would be given the painful- deadly- tattoos that, if she survived, would let her live outside Augiery. Nerinda was saved from death only because she had a daughter, and still, she was banished from Augiery after her daughter, Asari, was born and had her tattoos.
Even though she was very young, Asari would claim to remember the pain of those first tattoos. Sometimes she dreams of it- a bawling baby, screaming as they held her down and traced them into her formerly flawless skin, right on her back. Somehow, the young Asari survived, and Nerinda fled the city with her. Now, many might assume that Nerinda would just try to kill her again. But when she held her daughter, and stared into her blue eyes for the first time- which were the spitting image of her father's- Nerinda couldn't do it. Having Asari healed her grief-ridden mind, in a way, as she realized that with Sylvain's death brought new life.
For the first part of Asari's life, they lived in Nashaki. The young Naerikk quickly became accustomed to hot weather, and she thrived in the hotlands. She loved it, in fact. Even if they lived in a cramped little house meant for one person, Asari adored it. She had to go back to Augiery regularly for new tattoos- which always were as painful as the first, and in fact were the worst moments of Asari's life- but she dealt with it so that she could live in Nashaki. They were happy... Until her mother slipped into old patterns...
In Nashaki, magic is forbidden. They hadn't been using magic at first when her mother opened her little apothecary shop. Asari didn't know, however, that when a customer needed a special kind of healing, her mother would use her graft magic. It was only a little bit at first, but using her magic again was addictive, and before long her mother was practicing magic more and more. Asari had no clue, until one trial when she was thirteen. She'd been searching just outside of Nashaki for little cacti and mushrooms to cultivate and put in her own little garden. When she returned to her home, however, she was greeted by the door having been broken in, the inside wrecked. She also returned just in time to see two soldiers carrying her mother off, holding her by the arms.
The strange thing was that Nerinda wasn't even struggling. She had her head held high, almost like she'd been waiting for it to happen. A young Asari, with black hair in pigtails and big blue eyes, moved to run after her, mouth opening to yell at the guards. It was her luck that one of the neighbors- a trusted friend of her mother's- grabbed her by the arm and yanked her into their home, keeping her hidden from the soldiers. Asari, after being calmed down as by this point she was dissolved in tears, was told that she couldn't stay in Nashaki. It was harsh news to take, but her neighbor was right- she was not safe there. Not without her mother. When asked if she had family to go to, Asari's thoughts went to the family she had in Augiery. She had aunts and uncles and cousins, and even a grandmother! Plus, even if she did not have that family, Naerikk would never turn away their own, especially children. Yet Asari hesitated. Her mother had always told her that she shouldn't stay in Augiery. She told her it was dangerous, that she should only go back for her tattoos and not spend anymore time than was necessary. So, when she spoke, she lied. "Take me to Nekhet. I have family there." Was her answer, even though the only person she knew in Nekhet was a Qi'ora couple that her mother had done business with.
To Asari's luck, when the couple heard her story, they took her in. Asari got a part time job in their shop as a surgical assistant. She didn't get to perform the surgery, but she handed the tools to Quillock- the male in the relationship that was the doctor- and she cleaned and sterilized everything between surgeries. She also would sneak some of their books to read in her freetime. As she grew even older, she got a part time job at a nearby food market handling the produce, and began to save her money.
When she reached twenty arcs of age, Asari was ready to move on from Nekhet. It was very much her home by then, but she wanted to learn more, she wanted to travel and see the world. Not only that, but her adoptive family were hoping to move to Nashaki to upgrade their clinic, but hadn't done so because of Asari. So, with some of her equipment, she bid her adoptive family goodbye and took off. Her first thought was to finally return to Augiery, so slowly but surely, Asari made her way south.
However, as her twenty-first birth trial passed, Asari lost her nerve. She ended up settling in Desnind, and she hopes, some trial, she'll be able to return to Augiery. For now, though, she's trying to build up her career as a Herbalist in Desnind.
Housing
Right now, Asari has no real home. She's residing in the inn of Desnind, in a small room she pays for nightly. It's not much, but she's saving for her own home- and more importantly, her own shop for herbology and healing.
