On the 5th Cylus in Arc 719, Faith Augustin was 20 arcs old.
She had been a slave in Athart, trained for the first seventeen arcs of her life ~ in that time she had experienced situations which were truly awful. Then, her training had been completed by Jamal Kash'deel, a sadistic brute of a manwho did what he did in the name of Famula. After a full arc as his slave, she had been allowed, finally, out of the undertakers back room and ~ as her bare feet had taken their first steps she had, unknowingly, entered a world which would change her forever. In going out n that, her first trial allowed out unsupervised ~ at the age of 18 arcs ~ Faith had met a man who had told her about the University.
The university had changed her life.
She had wanted it. Like she had never wanted anything before - she had wanted it for herself and, because she had been so very well trained - she had told Jamal of this. He had reacted in a predictable manner and punished her severely for that selfish desire; the last part of that punishment had led her to meet Tristan Venora. He had bought her from Jamal and her whole existence had once again changed. Tristan had been the kindest man she had ever met, and most certainly the kindest owner. He had recognised her desire to learn and, since she was not allowed to study at the university, he had paid for her to have a tutor. And so, she had gone from slave to free woman, wife and mother. Sometimes, the enormity of the journey she had undertaken hit her.
Because that had just been the beginning.
Somehow, that had led her to here. Having been handed the responsibility for the Order of the Adunih which was, quite frankly, in a worse state than anything she'd ever seen. Faith had battled Immortals, been inside the body of Treid, stood and argued with Famula, died and been brought back. "And I can reliably say that this is the biggest mess I have ever encountered."
There were piles and piles of parchment. Total, unconstrained chaos. But still, there was only one thing to do Faith knew, and that was to start at the beginning. So, that was what she did. Starting at the first table, she picked up the first piece of parchment. Three breaks later, she had barely made a dent. Still, Faith knew well enough that these early breaks would be the most slow-going in terms of results as she developed the system she needed, making tidy piles by place in the first instance, then by arcs, and finally seasons. Each season, she split them into topics - at first, what she could no longer deal with and so simply needed to be filed and what she could do something with. Soon, the 'could do something with' split further down.
But, after three breaks, she had to simply get on and do something else, and so she began to write what would, eventually, be a letter. Eventually.
Our Vision, Going Forward.
Moving forward, we will be attempting to ensure that we are more centrally organised.
~ As previously written, I have been given responsibility for the Order.
~ Rharne will, therefore, become the HQ of the Order of the Adunih.
~ I plan on setting up a school here - the details of that are to follow as I will need to work them through with both the Viden Academy and the Scalvoris Campus.
~ Green cloak will be the training cloak.
~ There will be a clearly defined curriculum for basic training
~ There will be a clearly defined curriculum for all training.
~ Progression through the cloaks will require a combination of experience and education
~ We will be focusing on a re-structuring of the cloaks, trims and cloaks.

Faith sighed and looked, once more, at the piles of parchment. "Sometimes," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I fall into the trap of believing that things were more simple when I was a slave." Lifting up the next piece of parchment, she sighed again. "And other times, I don't doubt it was."
