1st Cylus, 719
A single candle burned in the window of Augustin's Boutique and would for the entire season of Cylus. Faith was here early, she'd been unable to settle at home and so had decided to come to work and try and get some things done. But, having done that and gotten everything in the shop ready, she was at the point now where she had to get on and so, she did. Salinda, the head of the Order of the Adunih, the whole Order, was coming to the Rharne Outpost to-trial and Faith had made every preparation she could. Quite why she was nervous, Faith did not know; after all, she had invited Salinda here when first she had taken over as the head of the Order here in Rharne. Faith thought it was important to meet with her direct senior. It had seemed frankly strange to her that there was very limited correspondence here between Salinda and either of the last two heads of the order in Rharne. It certainly was something which made Faith a little concerned about communication between this Outpost and the Head of the Order. She had, in Scalvoris, worked under Galena ~ the head of the Order there, and she was quite sure that Galena would have no such quibbles. Galena would have, in fact, been banging down the door of anyone that needed their door banging down.
But still, whether her nervousness was logical or otherwise, it was what she felt and Faith accepted that and moved on. She was as organised and prepared as she could possibly be, so all she had to do was get to the Order outpost and meet Salinda there. She had reviewed, and reviewed again, every process and procedure they used - she had them written out in neat boxes on her shelves, ready for Salinda to review. All of the staff had been briefed and prepared and Faith knew that there was no more that she could have done. Yet, still, she had to query it, wonder. It was very much the nature of who she was and, so, Faith went over everything again, one more time in her head as she made her way to the outpost.
She was three breaks early, which meant that she could do the last final checks of everything. These she did with relative ease and then she made her way into the clinic and got on with working. It was a relatively busy morning; Faith had noticed that the first few trials of Cylus tended to be busier; that was fine, though, she had adjusted the roster to match. Keeping records, seeing patterns and using them to plan in advance ~ those were all things that Faith did with ease, relatively speaking and so she tried to make sure that everything here ran to maximum efficiency.
It soothed her, working with patients. It was why they were all here, after all, though she got to do it less and less these trials. Something she was not happy about but, equally, the place needed to run. So, it was a welcome relief to spend a couple of breaks tending to broken limbs, infections and cuts; so much so that, when her assistant came to tell that Salinda was here, Faith had almost forgotten that the woman was due to arrive.
Almost.
"Alright, then. Let's go." Faith said and she straightened her cloak as she made her way out.
