She looked at him and blinked in some surprise, then realised the disparity between what she had said and what he had understood from what she had said. It was more than fair enough that he had, in truth, because she hadn't been clear. "I misunderstood you, my apologies. My brain is trying to keep up with you and it's not speedy." Faith breathed in and tried to explain again, but with more clarity this time. "If it's just a tube up the nose, that would be perfect. I thought, when you said about a mask that for some reason we couldn't just go up the nose. If we can, that would be ideal." She smiled at him and leaned over to plant a kiss on his cheek. "Demanding and incomprehensible? You are the luckiest of men, Professor Augustin." Her smile was genuine as she looked at what he was handing her. It was entirely the opposite which was true, of course. Although, these trials at least Faith understood that they were, at least, as lucky as each other.
She looked at the two vials and considered what it was that they had done here. "So, this is an excellent place to start. I'm going to test these and then test them again. When I've done that, I'll see if I can persuade you to help me more? This is excellent." She frowned, though, thinking about it. "You know. A concentrated sedative in this could...." He knew her, in just about every sense of the word and in that moment Faith had an idea. However, it was an idea for later, not now and she smiled at him. "Come on, you, time to have something to eat and I can quiz you mercilessly about what's out there in the garden which has to wait until morning."
That said, she'd be very happy to tidy up what they'd done and actually just spend an evening together. She had a hundred ideas going through her mind about the concentration of drugs and how they might be able to do more than simply sedate someone in terms of needing them unconscious for an operation or surgical procedure. What if, she was thinking, they could keep a constant level going so that they were. Her mind was reeling with the ideas but, as they sat down together for an evening meal, she was glad to put them to one side and be sure that they'd done a good job.
