Over the time that her healing abilities had become more well known, that she had she supposed, Faith had grown used to the middle of the night knocks on the door. So, too, had Padraig although he was far less happy about it. Still, he knew her and who she was and he would no more turn away people in need than she would, he'd just ask them if they really couldn't have made it to the Adunih, Faith thought to herself as she looked at the man with the burned out eye. Then, the woman who had dumped him, rather than put him down, spoke as Faith worked. She had herbs and poultices ready prepared and she didn't look up from what she was doing as she listened to the woman proclaim herself a mortalborn. When Lavana had finished speaking, she flicked a single silver-eyed glance at her and then carried on. "Kura is my friend, she officiated my wedding and she has told me a lot about the Empire. They would not condone slaughter without trial, nor would they allow torture for its sake." Her hands moved with calm precision and Faith frowned as she began to stitch. "And when the Empire was here, that was not their philosophy." As for achieving peace at the end of a lance and rewriting history in the blood of the fallen, Faith said nothing, but there was no doubting that she did not believe it.
To Freya, she nodded, "Thank you, Aphina," she said, as the light made doing her job a lot easier. "Did he hurt you?" She heard the woman's story and nodded. "Yes, I've heard about that and yes, they are indeed glowing" Glowing blue veins, that was new to her and Faith figured that she had one course of action as her first. "I don't know if I can help, but I promise you I will do my best. Lavana, there's a kettle in the stove. There's water in the jug next to it. Please would you make Alphina and yourself a cup of tea? It's Scalvblack, it has a calming effect and will help with the shock." At least one of them was in shock, there was no doubt. She heard Alphina's response to Lavana and she raised an eyebrow slightly.
Once Lavana had, or had not, started the tea and Faith had done all she could in the moment, she looked up. The man was mostly outcold and the sedative she had given him had him relaxed. "Whatever our individual opinions of the Immortals," she said with a smile, "I have been blessed by Moseke," she touched the tattoo of the willow tree on her chest. "Famula and," her wrists and neck and then, she showed her nails. "Vri. I am going to use one of the abilities granted to me by Moseke's mark to see if this is a poison in his system. It will make the tattoo seem to glow and will connect me to him, visibly. It looks strange, but it is purely healing. You shouldn't be alarmed, but it is very important to my well being that you do not disturb me, as doing so can cause the toxins to travel into my body and harm me. Is that acceptable to you? It should not take more than five bits. Just long enough to have a cup of tea." She looked at them and waited to see if there were questions. If not, then the young woman said, "Cosmo, guard," and the dog moved to in front of her, putting himself between Faith and the visitors. He made no aggressive move, but he was obviously alert.
Then, Faith put her hand on him and begin to pray, muttering under breath her words seeking Moseke's aid. As she did, she grabbed a small bowl, ready to collect up the toxins as the mark did it's work. The tattoo on her chest, the trunk of the willow tree between her breasts started to shimmer green and yellow and tendrils of branches, transparent and completely made of energy, covered the man's body, connecting with his flesh and drawing any toxins from him, while forcing divine energy back into him to heal any damage. Any toxins there were, would gather in front of the mark where Faith would collect them.
