Skydas Keep
Skydas Keep sits just across the river from Zynyx Market, just a short distance away from the water, with the Stormwastes at its back. From the river, one can walk in through a gate set in its tall stone walls, and find themselves in a massive training yard, with targets and dummies set out all around. There are separate sections for ranged, melee, and mounted combat practice, with a track laid out around the perimeter for running or riding. Off to the side are the stables, with both stalls and roosts for landbound and aerial mounts alike.
A gateway through a second wall leads to three buildings. The large building on the left contains living quarters for the company—a kitchen, a dining hall, private rooms for Praetorum and his lieutenants, and barracks for the rank and file. The building is homey, with wall of polished stone and floors of varnished wood, tall corridors big enough for a large ithecal to walk through comfortably, and wide windows to let in the sunlight.
To the front is a small, circular tower. The lower half of the tower is a war room, where Praetorum meets with clients and prospective mercenaries. The upper half is a storage room, locked up tight.
And to the right is another, smaller building. The majority of the building is a large smithy, with a door that leads back out to the courtyard. Another room in the back contains armor and weapons, a few blunted for practice, most sharpened for war.
