Patrick was quick to provide Faith what she need of the memory when the time came, as well as the bit of blood donated since he also possessed two marks also. It dawned on him that in his efforts to further advance the war efforts, he might do to consider the possibility of honing his craft for them. Which... wasn't something easy for him since they were in essence magic, and he always felt iffy when it came to using magic regardless of intention. Still it was of importance much like the research, so he studied the extensive compilation of notes gathered before him. He read further into the aspects of Necromancy and a compilation of what powers they had, finding it unsettling the further he read on to study them and their craft.

So from the looks of it their most substantial thralls utilized wells, which were magical objects that empowered them... kind of like a soul did with the body? It was all strange for him, then again being here in itself was strange to begin with; though he considered it self interest invested in others for once. That said he felt it highly imperative to read more, to collect as much knowledge as he can on this particular subject for the future. Ellasin wasn't the only necromancer out there after all, just the most dangerous until proven to be eliminated that is. All of this would be useful to reference for later if he had to fight another, since he knew just how terrifying a necromancer could truly be.

Noth's own asset for instance... when the thralls overtook the ship just outside Etzos, Pat considered himself lucky for a multitude of reasons. Namely for the fact he briefly knew Noth well enough, so that the two could interact enough for him to walk away with his own life; while the murderous half-breed finished sacking that vessel. "I've had way too many close calls in the past..." Yet given what he was getting himself into, there would most definitely be more to come. He had to really consider his place among everyone here, as well as come up with a plan on handling himself better in the field.

Come the time when Faith returned with a lantern Patrick and Dom watched closely, his older brother unnerved as though it were something familiar to him. "What is it?" He asked as the former Lightning Knight fidgeted and watched warily.

"I recognize that lantern."

"Huh? Recognize?" He looked utterly confused at the damn thing.

"You're about to find out..." And sure enough he did. When Faith placed the lantern down and the doorway opened, it became fairly obvious that they were going somewhere... It was by far outside his comfort zone but given how deep Pat was already, he didn't wish to just linger out here when he wanted to be involved. This had slowly become his fight too in a sense, as he felt like he owed a lot as of late. He owed Faith for all the good things she did for him and for Rharne, he owed Ellasin a fucking bolt to the skull for her wicked ways, he owed his peers at present as they helped him become who he is now... He owed Rharne... Damn it he had to go, there was no fucking way he'd sit this one out. "I'm pretty sure that's Famula's domain. She held a lantern like that when I saw her..." Patrick knew what he referred to now. The time in which Dominek's death came and he faced judgement, yet he didn't wish to pass on as others sometimes did.

"You okay with this?" He checked with his older brother who reluctantly agreed, as the Rharnian rose out of his chair to follow those going in. "Let's go see the realm of the dead then." He muttered lowly as goosebumps covered his arms, moments later the two went beyond to join the rest in their meeting.

Just before she went through, after the last of them had gone, Faith went to go and kiss her children. Then, she went into her study and sent forward a prayer to Famula, Vri, Moseke and Ymiden that she might have the strength to do what had been asked of her. It didn't seem possible in this moment, and later on, Faith would look back and think that she had been blissfully ignorant in this moment. Still, she was doing the best she could with what she had and so, she found the papers she needed. It didn't take long, putting together the information, but it would be invaluable.

They all needed to know this. And, as luck would have it, she was a teacher. So, she hoped that the ... huge number of people - both living and dead - were willing to take notes, because she needed to give them some information and she didn't have time to copy this out half a million times or more. With the slightest of smiles, she made sure she had everything she needed. Necromancy, sparks, wells, that kind of thing. Yes, got it. Then, she turned and made her way downstairs, ready to go.

Cyrus, Padraig's grandfather, stepped out to meet her and the older man looked at her with the same amber eyes as her husband had. Faith lifted her head to meet his gaze and just for a moment the young woman looked, and felt, like a child. "Cyrus?" Faith whispered. Her father-in-law (to all intents and purposes -he'd raise Padraig after all) smiled softly and Faith felt an overwhelming rush of emotion. She wanted to run, to cry, to sob and beg and not do this. To run away, back to being a slave where she never had to make choices, but people made them for her, told her what to do.

Gently, Cyrus squeezed her shoulder. "Those babies asleep?" His deep voice was matter-of-fact and Faith looked at him with an enormous swell of gratitude. Her babies. They needed protecting. She could do this - she had to. "It can't be harder than being a parent, can it?" Cyrus shook his head. "It's not as much responsibility, Faith, that's for sure. Those two lives." She heard his words and nodded. Then, she stood on tip-toe and kissed his cheek. "Thank you," she whispered. "I don't .. I won't let you down. None of you." He shook his head, not saying a word.

Then, he gave her a gentle nudge towards the 'doorway' to Zuudaria. "Go on with you. You know how much that grandson of mine fusses. I don't know where he gets it."

Faith turned and grinned. "Not his mother, Cyrus. I can promise you that." And, as she stepped through, she smiled at the sound of the man's laughter. Once through, she was going to teach them. All of them. All that they needed to know.

Re: Lady Mercy Won't Be Home Tonight

I have to admit. This sort of thread wasn't something that I was expecting. But this is not only an effective way of disseminating information, but as well, making it as conducive to roleplay as possible.

It's refreshing to see introduction threads handled like this. It's chaotic, and almost a bit manic at points. I can't think of anything that stood out that was negative. Good on you, Faith, for organizing this.

Hart, your research notes were informative, and fun to read.

Patrick, your internal monologues are insightful, and colorful.

Nir'wei, your prose flows like a crook, smooth and easy. Keep it up.

Kesindir, language barriers are extremely hard to RP, and I congratulate you on doing it well.

Kura, the smooth dialog paired with the sense of superiority made the character's flavor top-notch.

Padraig, your inventions are intriguing to read, but your character's personality definitely carries the performance.

Varlum, it's always good to see a powerful personality unhindered by niceties. Keep it up!

Gennadiya, your introspection is a marvelous read. Something that I can't stress enough, is a distinct talent.

Sephira, doing things outside of the sight of the party is definitely something I can commend, I hope to see more of the fruits of your efforts.

Maxine, keep up that strong personality. It's unique, and something that serves as neither a net positive or negative. It's something that's just... Entirely Maxine. Fresh and original.
