So, there are a lot of different types of sand ~ where can you find what?
Herein is kept all the repositories of information for players. Repositories include: flora, fauna, NPCs and materials, for example, along with Scalvoris' Lore Thread and all the information you need on what makes Scalvoris Unique!
Almost everything about Scalvoris is slightly odd and the same is certainly true for the beaches. Rather than the usual golden sanded beaches seen around Idalos, Scalvoris has strange, multi-hued sand which is the stuff of story, superstition and sometimes strangeness.
The above map gives a rough indication of the sand colour likely to be found in the different areas of the shorelines. The rare Rainbow Sand is only found on the beaches around the Scalv Mountains. Where there are small spots of colour in the middle of the map, there are strange little dunes of that colour sand.

A deep blue sand which enhances sounds and makes music even more enjoyable in its raw form. Used to make Egilrun glass instruments, it allows for truly beautiful instruments to be crafted Link
Faldrass Sand
The Faldrass Sand is a deep burnt orange colour, reminiscent of the volcano island which is the only place on Idalos where this sand is found. It maintains a constant temperature of comfortably warm. Link
Green Sand
The Scalvoris Green Sand is a vivid green colour and it is the opposite of the orange sand in that it maintains a constant temperature of comfortably cool Link
Rainbow Sand
The rare "rainbow sand" of Scalvoris can be found only on those beaches which are at the foot of the Scalvoris Mountains. These beaches are notoriously difficult to get to either by land or sea but should one find themselves there, the multi-hued sand is a truly beautiful sight to behold. Link.
Rainbow Wave
The rainbow wave is a rare phenomena seen only on Scalvoris. When the environmental and weather conditions are just right, the waves themselves take on the multi coloured nature of Scalvoris Sands. It is believed that, should you be fortunate enough to capture some of this 'rainbow water' mid-wave then it has wonderful and unique properties.

Pink Sand

Found in deep waters, this sand seems to retain moisture and is excellent in glassblowing
Red Sand
Found on the beaches of Almund and Havardr, this red sand is unremarkable in its "raw" form, but glass made from it is heat resistant, durable and has a beautiful effect. Link
Sandspecks
A phenomena seen on the beaches of Scalvoris for a brief period twice throughout the arc which leaves behind small, solid spheres. These spheres are collected and sold to tourists for a very high amount of money. With the correct information and knowledge, they can also be the source of the rare Silver Sand or, every now and then, the very unusual Gold Sand. Link

Silver Sand
Extracted by chemists and alchemists from the sandspecks, this silver sand turns to thick silver liquid when held in the palm of your hand. What other wonders might it hold? Link
