Another dream. Abra stood at the center of a seemingly infinite stretch of rocky terrain with no goal other than to push his governing powers further. The first thing he had chosen to do was relatively simple, but enough to knock a few boulders around. He waved a hand to slice them in half. Controlling things precisely within his dreamscape had become easier and easier. He could even simulate a small earthquake if he focused hard enough. It would require him to put his hands to the ground, and channel his governing powers in to make the ground shake.Oh well, it couldn’t be too difficult to figure out how to start a fully fledged earthquake. All Abra had to do was will it to happen in just the right way, and force a disturbance out of the ground. He took off his equipment, including his daggers that he had materialized with, and took a few buttons off of his lower clothing for better movement. Abra did a few quick stretches, including pushups and a couple throws of the knives even though it only went to show how much practice he needed with those. He settled for spinning them on his thumbs and throwing them shortly after. Useless. Dreaming didn’t make him any better at what he could do in Idalos. Controlling the daggers to hit their marks was within his ability of governance but it would be a bittersweet victory.
After taking a sip of water, Abra set about to the actual training. First he set about to further awakening his dreamwalking powers. He knew he could do more and could do so much in emea that he couldn’t do in idalos. He kneeled in the dirt and set both of his palms down, forward, onto the earth. He began to use his imaginative powers, pushing as much as he could into his arms, and then releasing it into the dirt. Abra pushed it towards his daggers on the ground, making them shake.
The powers flowed easily into the ground, but didn’t do anything; still Abra had several more ideas. He pulled his powers back, instead of letting it erode into the soil, to see it that would do anything, still no good results. Perhaps this would be more difficult than he had first thought. Abra wasn’t even aware of how earthquakes worked, perhaps if he studied it he could better understand the fundamentals, and as such, use his powers correctly, and more efficiently.
Abra didn’t think there was any source in the world that could tell him how earthquakes logically formed. He could only imagine that the vibrations went in every direction, and frequently hit into each other, that was what caused the actual shaking. He placed his palms quickly back upon the ground. He began to channel his thoughts, first into his arms, and then into the ground.
Abra sent the will of his imagination all around him, and had the powers rebound off of any small rocks that it could find, instead of going around them. He felt the powers coming back and hitting him, the rebounding off of his figure, that’s when the quakes started. Abra scrambled his feet into a sturdier position, while his daggers wobbled slowly… Abra lifted his hands in anticipation, the movements immediately stopped.
Abra did the appropriate amount of heavy breathing, after a bit of practicing. He put his hands to the ground, palms down, and began to channel his imagination again, focusing with his whole, entire being. This was a time where concentration was a key to success. He could always relax in a self constructed pool afterwards anyways. He wrapped his ‘will’ around his arms before pumping them into the ground, having the earth split beneath him.
Now he began to urge his powers into following the path of that one thought which would create the mud. Water. The sparse, thirsty dirt quickly devoured the energy ravenously. Abra continued to convert the powers, hoping the dirt would ‘drink’ it up until the mud was thick and goopy. If he could succeed at this so soon, he could take a break and relax.
He pulled his palms up, out of the dirt/mud, before slapping them together to brush some dirt off. His hands were mucky, but that was a good thing, it meant that the ground was now muddy. Had his resurfacing plan worked? Abra still wondered, he couldn’t be sure how far down his mud had gone. Unless of course he checked.
Abra was pleased with all of the nature manipulation that he had been mastering with Governing. In his dreamscape he had created thunderstorms, floods, and now earthquakes. But he had a nagging feeling. “Am I limited?” Was Abra too closed minded in his training, there were other elements than earth, more that a defier dream invader could use. Abra thought he should start training in a new line of thought, but he felt he still had a lot of ground to cover with earth. He wanted to be prepared if a defier ever wandered into his dreams. He wanted to be on equal footing and be able to best them when it came to the elements.
Yes, of course! If Abra could best defiers, then he would always be able to protect his dreamscape. They were the most powerful mages in his opinion and he could do what they did in his dreamscape without welcoming nightmare beasts. But how could he go about creating his own elements on command? It was a problem he wasn’t going to solve anytime soon. He postulated about using an earthy substance from his body as a base, and alter it using governing. But, what did he have that could be used as a substitute earth? He could just use a random material, but that would be troublesome, and would use more powers than necessary.
Time to try a little water manipulation. Abra needed more power. He needed so much more he couldn’t bear it anymore. The primal urge of his thirst for power over everything around him was getting to him, and he needed to sate his thirst in the matter. He needed to train harder. Abra willed a pond into existence, his heart pounding rapidly against his chest. He saw the pool. Governing was one of the ways he dealt with the magical cravings in emea. The water was relaxing, since he could naturally pick and choose between many different types of water. Although the differences had absolutely no special effects, it still let his body relax. The constant will to use magic could be calmed by something as simple as the sea, it could always quell their raging emotions.
There was no time to use the pool, with the little sanity Abra had left, he knew he could take advantage of this craving, to accelerate his training. His thoughts were draining away, and soon would be an empty shell until the violence required was created and experienced. Then, he sat back and let that bloodthirsty side of him take control. Abra grinned, although it was more of a snarl, and began to channel his powers about his body. The powers pumped through the water that made the inside of his body, and combined into it. The effected water moved through his system, slightly denser, towards his arms. When the dark blob under his skin reached his palm, Abra let it out.
A sticky thick red water oozed from Abras skin, and he let the dark substance fall onto his other palm. More and more oozed out, until he had a large, amorphous blob. He couldn’t know how much the volume was, as the blood water went in every direction possible. All Abra knew at that moment was that it was good. But what to do with that jelly, he thought, to himself. The rational part of him fought for it to be made.
Out of his bloodwater that was spurting out of his hands, a creature started to form from it. It took the shape of a humanoid boar that lunged at him. Abra lifted his foot up to his chest, his eyes would glance at the ground before he had rushed his foot to meet it. The kick did little to stop the boar person and he was bucked aside. The pain was real and would leave a bruise in Idalos. Abra decided to give himself a little boost with Governance. He kicked again and this time the ground around crack all around him and rupture into giant walls around him in a circle. He had put a little to much force into them and thus caused several thick sheets of rock to shoot into the air.
The blood water boar didn’t stand a chance and Abra smiled because of that. He was confident that he could fight off even nightmare beasts in his own dreamscape now.
