History

"Everything can improve. That which refuses must be destroyed."

Of the four souls that Ethelynda protected , one found sustenance in the animals of the world, gorging itself on the brutal realities of natural selection and the often violent settlement of authority among animals. It wandered through the land, leaving faint echoes of itself as it passed, giving rise to many of the more powerful monsters in Idalos as its nature heightened the processes of evolution and adaptation in the area.

Eventually coming to rest in an area where violence and conflict was a way of life, the mercenary city of Yaralon, the draconic soul settled settled beneath the city, drawing more violence to the area, eventually leading, albeit not directly, to the devastation of the area immediately above its resting place, eventually creating the Ghost Burho.

Despite this, it still fed from the violence of the city, the grueling conflicts which only the strongest and luckiest could survive, and as it fed, its new body grew. Eventually, Vielkrontier was given a full body, shortly thereafter to be awoken at the same time as other Draconic sleepers. Vielkrontier, who didn't know that Kata's mad plan had resulted in his awakening, took his Dragonlings, for the city was too small to contain him, and left

The Apex of Change now roams free, to bring about the evolution of Idalos and its peoples, and to exterminate those who fall by the wayside.

Personality

Vielkrontier is a simple creature, though his mentality is brutal and alien to many. He believes himself to be the very embodiment of change and natural selection, and will even tear off one of his own heads if it is weaker than the others, so that the head that grows to replace it will be stronger. He disdains weakness of any sort, whether that be emotional or physical, and is direct and harsh with even those in his favor.

Despite all this, Vielkrontier is neither stupid nor ignorant of the strength of what are often considered softer emotions by mortals who claim to value strength above all else. Vielkrontier knows that a clever strategy or well-laid trap can fell even the mightiest of foes and that emotions like love and loyalty can lead to surprising strength. However, he has no patience for those who use these to mask cowardice or physical weakness. He also has no use for those who lose control of themselves because they cannot keep their emotions in check.

In terms of morality, Vielkrontier cares not for such esoteric concepts as good or evil. On a more basic level, he does not even support a mentality of those who belong and those who don't. Concepts such as honor, nobility, malice, and treason don't matter to him either. For Vielkrontier, all that matters is strength, of body, mind, and heart. To him, those who cannot become stronger no longer have a place in the world, and those who can deserve his support until they are supplanted by someone stronger.

Appearance

Even among Dragons, Vielkrontier is truly massive. His body stands a 40 feet at the shoulder, with each neck stretching another 20 feet in length. From his chest to his tail, he is 50 feet long, and owing to his gargantuan size, he is fully quadrupedal. Unlike most Dragons, Vielkrontier is flightless and is too physically dense to swim. Of course, his most notable feature is his many heads, seven of them.

Vielkrontier's body is rather akin to that of an alligator, and in general, it is perhaps Vielkrontier who bears the most physical resemblance to the Ithecal that were born when Ethelynda first returned the draconic souls to the world, though his heads are a rather different shape, being more serpentine than crocodilian.

Vielkrontier never visits a city unless he plans to destroy it, as his sheer size makes it completely impossible for him to do so without at least doing an incredible amount of damage to it.
