The Blacksmith Arms

The Blacksmith Arms

As one of the oldest establishments in Andaris City, The Blacksmith Arms has survived two wars, and a fire. It is known to the locals as a place for near do wells, and crooks, frequented by a lot of foreign travellers from distant lands. As an underground gathering point for a lot of the city's traders, merchants, and other opportunists, it is said that anyone looking for information considered hard to come by should start their search here.

The walls and furniture are aged and well loved, etchings and old poems scratched into the dome shaped structure, beams, and even the floorboards. All of the wooden chairs and tables were crafted in and imported from Burhan, along with the bar itself. Furs from Rynmere's finest tanners and leather workers in Krome line the seats, and old, molten candles, along with a small fireplace in the back provide the only dim source of light. The bar is decorated with a variety of clay-fired jars, bottles, and mugs, and coloured glass globes add a touch of colour here and there.

Rufus Hemlock has run the tavern for the last sixteen years, having taken over the reins when his father became sickly and later died. Rufus is notorious for his smuggling days when he used to spend long periods of time at sea, intercepting smaller ships with his crew of pirates to take whatever they please. These days people believe the stories to be far fetched rumours, but some of the man's old gang still visit from time to time, making the tavern a less than desirable place for any of Rynmere's decent folk.

Rufus comes across rather friendly and outgoing, but it is said that nothing is smuggled in or out of Rynmere without his say so. Rufus was one of the most notorious pirates of his time, alleged to have killed over three hundred men during his many years at sea. Dealing with the man is risky, but trying to go behind his back is even worse. Tread this path only with extreme caution.
