And hello to you as well, Anomaly. I do already feel welcome, but extra good wishes certainly don't hurt. You make a good point - it's nice that the site caters to a wide variety of tastes. This prevents it from being and, by the same extent, becoming boring.

I just need to figure out how to maneuver my Ellune around in the hottest season on the planet.

Be miserable/hibernate/refrigerate your home/dream lots of dreams! Unlike Miz, dreams on ST can award experience. Just trickier to get knowledge unless you're marked with Nyvora/initiated into Dreamwalking.

I love St dreams, I don't know many who used dreams in Miz.

Nyvora sounds interesting when I read it - it could be a cool consideration. Miserable it is then.

There weren't really many - it was a fun gimmick for about a month. Then the first hammer came down on dreams and you could no longer get any XP from them. Soon after STs were pretty much encouraged to look past dream threads unless someone with Dreamwalking was included - and they were all in Riverfall. That I found to be the biggest problem with dreams there - unless you were the Cytali, dreams were meaningless. In light of all of this, it's not all that strange all of us mostly ignored it.

As the one who wrote most of Nyvora and designed Emea and Dreamwalking, I'm thrilled that there's interest in it and that it's something people enjoy. I agree with the pointers made in regards to the dreamworld on Miz, and it always felt a little too exclusive to the point that no one had the permission to get anything out of it. I wanted to change that and leave it open, where still having a world of possibilities beyond the norm for those who wanted to go the extra mile. So far it seems to be a success.

I have just read that I've overstepped my 30 days since sign-up when it comes to asking for a starting blessing. So I guess I'll be forgoing that option. There's always room to have it happen IC at some point.

I do all this talking, but I'm still nowhere near finished with my CS, so I should go and tend to that.

I don't think so. I made my own circumstances when I decided to make an Ellune in a hot season - just like I decided to wait over a month before moving. So I'm directly responsible for my circumstances - I might as well work with them.

I thought about exactly what you said, but it's not how I like to do things.

This doesn't have to be a bad thing though. It's just a random character building element - not everything has to be set in stone. After reading, I considered the Ellune to be more of god than of a domain - but this just presents itself as another idea. In their quest for the Heart, at some point long ago there were some Ellune who figured out that they weren't doing all that they could be doing unless magic was included in their fields of study.


Since it was either blessing or domain at start up, and I'm left with a domain - that's what I'll pursue. If you are not pursuing every possible avenue, then you just don't want it enough. And for the Ellune, desire was never a problem.

So in my mind, not getting a blessing is a blessing on its own. It's a random building element - just like when you roll stats for DnD and make them work with what you want. It may sound chaotic but it's what I'm used to when making my characters.

I'm thinking about defiance and rupturing and I'm confident that if done well both would help me in moving around the landscape despite the inborn weakness to heat. I'll have to poke more to be sure.
