I would like to know how someone would go about removing a curse. This is not for my PC (who doesn't have any sort of mark) but because I have a plot in mind where an NPC tries to remove their own curse. They won't necessarily be successful in removing it, but their efforts will move along the plot. So I was wondering what are the sorts of things they might try?
It says in this thread that there are certain items that might be able to remove a curse e.g. fragments or special artefacts. Is there any information anywhere about what sort of items this could be/how this would work? And how much could a cursed individual be expected to know about all this?
Thanks

Removing a curse
Hey there Ismeme, how's it going?
Regarding your question, in the article about blessings / curses, it's listed a lot that moderator involvement is required, if only to help outline the plot for the character and smack it with an approval stamp. This goes with removing curses, or attempting to. There is no 'one set way' to get a curse removed, or to get an artifact to subdue a curse. These plots have to be constructed by the character, if they have an idea in mind, and pitched to the mod in the Support Forum. Normally, with minimal tweaking, these requests are approved.
As for the artifacts, these items are normally "custom" developed for the character upon request and given to said character within a thread, one whatever requirements to receive the item(s) have been met. As for the knowledge of all of this in RP, it's really up to the story and their involvement in religion / the immortals. Though most marks / magic are looked at as very abnormal, paranormal phenomenon--- magic more so than marks. So it's good to assume that only religious and devout followers of an Immortal would believe their is a way to remove a curse, but most would just chalk it up to babble.
Hope this helps!

Removing a curse
Thanks for your help Jade! I'll talk to a mod about it nearer the time then. Good to know most people in Idalos would be basically clueless about this kind of thing, that helps narrow things down a bit as well. Cheers
