Name: Icarus Kade Race: Human Languages: Common, Irarian, Nidtaic Date of Birth: 78th Ashan 665 (52) Skills: Agriculture (30), Animal Husbandry (30), Medicine (30), Teaching (10) Details:Icarus was a traveling trade merchant, sailing from the shores of Rharne in search of more suitable product negotiations and exchange contract— given that the Merchants Guild went about monopolizing most of his better customers. His travels took him to Hyran and, in passing, met Warren’s mother working within the Tavern one fine evening. The curious sparkle in her eyes attracted the man, as well as her lively personality, and before he set out again for the road, he promised to return to her after his travels were threw.
Another Arc and a half would pass before Icarus would step foot into Hyran again, this time with enough gold collected for a small wedding and a suitable farmhouse with livestock the newlywed couple. Their marriage was not an easy one to live with though, as the number of miscarriages Fiorian experienced placed a great rift between them— one that was close to breaking their ties completely. It wasn’t until the light of Ashan introduced new hope between the two and, within a few months, Warren was happily born to the world.
Raising the boy was a task of itself, as he liked to wander off in search of the unknown, unafraid of what such actions could bring him. Icarus was proud but fearful, knowing that the loss of the child would destroy the happiness him and his wife had found from Warren’s existence. Such fear began to subside when, shortly after Warren’s birth, Fiorian became pregnant again and, with bated breath, bore onto the world a blossoming baby girl.
It seemed the family was growing strong, healthy, lively, happy. But as everyone knows, all good things must come to an end. Hyran had seen a bad harvest not one Arc, but two back to back and while negotiations between Ne’haer had been underway, they were not well enough for the city to provide support to Hyran citizens, and so, starvation throughout the populace ensued.
Their farm deteriorated, their livestock eaten, their crops withered and with barely any strength left, Icarus took to the woods to hunt for food. But he was no huntsmen and knew not how to string a bow or aim properly. On the few occasions he was lucky, he would catch an animal in the leg or arm before finishing it off with a rock.
He saw to it that the children help him, and while it was smart to bring along such efforts in the cold of Zi’da, it was not wise to allow children such freedom within the thickness of the woods. It didn’t take much before they were lost from their father, and with no home in sight, Warren and Altea remained in the cold.
It was two trials later before the father found his kin, but already, he’d lost his youngest to Vri. Warren on the edge of death, was taken back to his parents farmhouse to recuperate, though slowly. He should have perished within the cold, and yet the strength of his heart endured…
Name: Fiorian Kade Race: Human Languages: Common, Irarian, Nidtaic Date of Birth: 72nd Vhalar 659 (58) Skills: Sewing (30), Cooking (30), Agriculture (20), Caregiving (10), Singing (10) Details: Fiorian was a quiet woman, having grown up and remained within Hyran for most of her life. Occasionally, she would venture beyond the territory to Ne’haer for prospects of education and while it was generally accepted by both areas, the citizens frowned upon such actions. They didn’t believe they needed to seek out information from a city attempting to take over the lands, but Fiorian didn’t care.
She was enthralled by books and stories, poetry, art, and music. It enraptured her and opened her mind to the creative and imaginative. The woman couldn’t part with such beauty. Alas, her studies were coming to an end and while Fiorian sought to move to Ne’haer permanently, her heart was homesick for Hyran.
It was only two season after her return did she meet Icarus in the tavern she worked at. Of course, it wasn’t as busy as the Inns in Ne’haer, which was luck of course because she might not have been able to sit and speak with him if it had been. He spurred on her imagination with the stories he told of his travels, pulling from his rucksack many old books and maps of the places he’d been to for trade. He even gifted her a book of poetry with a letter inside, promising his return.
Fiorian might not have waited if it wasn’t for the letters Icarus had sent her, detailed and lengthy— heavy enough to cause the birds difficulty in flight. The day he returned, she was overjoyed and, with little pause and time for courtship, they married and settled down in one of the farmhouses just on Hyran’s border.
What was suppose to be a happy marriage soon turned depressive as one after the other, Fiorian’s body rejected the prospect of new life within it. She sobbed nightly, praying to the Gods that would listen for a child to be given onto her, to be rid of whatever curse that plagued her. Fiorian begged for what felt like hours, promising them anything they wished, if only for a child.
A week had passed when, curiously, Fiorian found a strange vial within her nightstand. The liquid was scentless, warm, and felt as if it hummed but the woman couldn’t tell, for her hands shook. Greedily and without pause, she drank it till there was but a few drops left, corked it, and placed it back within the nightstand. Nine months later, Warren was born to the world.
She adored him, watching after him while he slept, taking care to sooth his crying, keep him warm, and keep him fed. He was a strong baby, his grip was tight and his laughter boisterous. He truly brought back the life within their small family.
On a whim, they attempted for another child, and when Altea was born, Fiorian could not have been more pleased by such a miracle. However, Altea wasn’t like Warren. She was small, weak, and cried often in the night. The babe wasn’t greedy for food, and didn’t hold her hand as tightly as Warren. Fiorian’s fears were present again, thinking that she would lose her child, but as time passed and Altea prevailed, those worries became less and less.
Until the cold embrace of Zi’da stole her child away in the night nine Arcs later. Though she remained with Icarus, their relationship was never the same...

She didn’t truly break from his antisocial shell until Warren quite obnoxiously pushed her from it, and while she had yelled and fussed at him, Altea was happy her brother took care to include her in things.
Warren was there in every instance of her life, helping her to climb, to jump, to be adventurous and unafraid of the world around them. But what she took from Warren, he took from their Father. Icarus was always teaching them about the ways of the lands, the mysteries that they held, and the Gods that commanded the things around them. While Warren was quietly intrigued, Altea was enthusiastically greedy— just as her mother was— for such stories and legends.
When her imagination wasn’t on the run with various tales, she helped her mother sew and assisted her father and brother on the farm. While she knew she was being shelter from some events when times got tough, she never questioned the fierce protection her mother, father, and brother placed over her.
Even within the woods, she didn’t question Warren. Even when his eyes were startled, hazed with fear and weakness. Even when they’d cuddled up under the roots of a fallen tree and buried themselves beneath dead leaves and snow.

Her brother, a soldier who'd been blackmailed to work there, explained to Warren that Lianna would be killed once they learned of Warren's escape. Swearing an oath of protection, Warren promised to protect Lianna from those that would do her harm.
Not having believed her brother was dead, it took Warren some time to convince her to trust his word and even more time to persuade Lianna to follow him across the Orm'del Sea. It wasn't until she nearly died from an assassination attempt did she finally trust Warren.
Lianna as a person is very introverted. She is observant, focused, and committed. Unlike most Biqajs, she does not wander toward the sea so freely, but finds the sight of the waters a relaxing spell. Lianna is the last remaining member of the Havenward line as her mother, brother, and father have been killed off due to some unfortunate events. The biqaj is trained in many skills, but some that she is more well versed in are sewing and singing. Music helps her keep her mind away from the terrible events of the past, a mild distraction so she can exist comfortably within the present. As a child, Warren and his sister, Altea, get lost in the woods while helping his father hunt. Altea perishes from exposure and Warren witnesses her soul get taken by Vri and Famula.
