Her actions with having disappeared from the horse once they had stopped and her clear attempts not to look at the guards only worked to make Xander believe there was something more to this woman than met the eye. At first glance she appeared nothing more than a fun and friendly sailor but her actions spoke louder than her words or appearance to him. He should have known not to judge a book by its cover, he was a good example of how that was not an accurate representation of the person within. Then again, many people were not like him and were in fact exactly what they seemed on the surface. Many nobles were empty of true depth, little more than corrupt and self centred animals, his father was the prime example and the polar opposite of Xander.

She did check he was okay though, not that he would admit his back hurt almost as much as the wounds he had got fighting the Warrick Bastard. "No, I am fine just a little bit of a bump, I have had worse." He released the sore flesh from his hand and placed it on the edge of the wagon again as they resumed movement. It appeared it was the Biqaj's turn to ask the questions now, luckily she was not asking questions that would bring out dangerous answers and not cause him to have to lie to her. He smiled and knew she was thinking it odd for him to go for jewellery, he had never even stepped inside a jewellers before. In all honesty he was going to feel completely out of place and may even end up getting persuaded into buying some random item he doesn't want.

"For my fiance, Baroness Celeste Andaris, she is to be my bride and I have yet to buy her any form of engagement gift. She is quite the lady and I know she would like something even if she says she is fine, I don't wish to buy anything fancy anyhow, just something simple and meaningful." He played with a knot in the wood as he thought about the kind of ring he was searching for, something simple, a band of metal without any precious stones. He wanted some meaning in it and he had an idea for an unfinished knot, the metal twisted and forged into the shape of an almost finished knot that would require a slight pull if it were rope to finish, something to represent the commitment he will make a knot he would need to finish.

He knew how sappy that was ans so kept it to himself, he did not wish to hassle this pleasant young woman with a silly romanticist idea. He had never cared or such things between the times of his sisters death and meeting Celeste, she had changed him a lot but yet he was still the same. He supposed it was less of a change and more of an opening up of what was inside when he was around her. When with people now he was the same as ever, charming and kind, taking time to learn about the person for both a political purpose and a friendly way. He would always have this facade up around others and it nearly always worked, he had two sides below the facade too now though. He had his appearance of a powerful and just leader and the family man that was around Celeste, although, Celeste did get to see the man who he wished would one day lead a nation to a new height.

Under the purple scarf a small, yet sad, smile formed on her lips. The idea of a simple a meaningful gift held a bit more meaning to her than most. The reason for that being the simple necklace that hung around her neck. It wasn't anything fancy, or even expensive for that matter. Which could be seen as odd for a race of beings who usually dressed themselves in jewellery. The necklace was a small and simple. A small seashell made from silver, tied onto a piece of rope. Back before all of this, her lover Sarah, had given it to her. As a gift for saving her, and as a token for the two of them. After her death, a small part of Jojha's soul was destroyed, stripped from her. Leaving an empty space that was almost impossible to fill. Ever since then Jojha wore the necklace, as one of the last things that made her feel close to Sarah.

"Something simple and meaningful is the best way to go. My love gave me this necklace."Jojha's left hand moved up her neck. Her index finger snuck it's way under the necklace, pulling it to the side, to show it off to Xander. With the sunlight bouncing off the metal seashell, it gave off a rather beautiful look. Even the inequalities of the seashell would of given off a sweet charm. It was if someone had spent nights on end, hand crafting it just for her. Jojha liked to think that the original owner did spend nights on end hand crafting such a thing, it comforted her. She could clearly remember some of her first nights in Rymnere where, she'd fall asleep holding the necklace, as if it could ward off some type of evil.

She went quiet again, the memories of her late love chocking her up. Instead she let her eyes scan across all of the shops that lay out in front of them. They appeared to be in the high end now. Expensive and posh looking shops lay themselves out in front of the rich and wealthy who wondered the clean streets with elegance and grace. All while guards and knights strolled down, dressed in their heroic armour and dragon slaying swords by their sides. It made Jojha quite uncomfortable. She was riding down the streets of the noble and rich, with a newly bought stead and a cheap wagon, collecting awkward looks and confused stares from the men and woman who wondered the streets. She knew she had nothing to fear, however the amount of looks she picked up wasn't helping her insecurities. Especially when she only had twenty five gold pieces to her name.

Despite this, she didn't want their respect or their wealth. She just wanted them to stop staring. She had a plan of what she wanted to do, and that was to travel the world and look for something. She didn't know what she was looking for, perhaps someone to fill the empty space Sarah left behind, or maybe some form of adventure. Even if she wasn't sure on what she was looking for, she knew once she found it, she'd find the most important thing in the world to her.

With time soon passing and the sun trailing across the sky, Jojha kept a keen eye out, looking for that Jeweller the two had been looking for. Thankfully with a struck of luck one eventually came into view. It was small, being placed on the corner of the street. Although it was small, it seemed to be a nice quiet jeweller with a man working outside. Gardening a few flowers that had been carefully planted outside to liven it's little corner up a bit. If the jeweller had anything it was definitely charm. Jojha didn't speed up, instead she kept strolling her way up to it, taking a bit of time to enjoy the sun.

Xander examined the necklace that hung around the young Biqaj's neck, a pretty piece of jewellery and not too extravagant. It was a shell, a sea shell to be precise, and it glistened in the sunlight much like water would when the sun shined on it. It was a lovely item and clearly one that had been well considered by whoever acquired it for Jojha. "That is a lovely necklace, I am sure they really did love you and thought long and hard about choosing it. Simple is the best way to go and this has only strengthened that view." He smiled at her although he could sense that the necklace brought her as many sad memories as happy. The jeweller was now in sight, a small and charming shop that was certainly the right place for Xander.

It sat on the corner of the street and Xander could not help but think how normal it looked, how human and honest. Life among nobles often lead to feeling like everything around you was false. He too had been false for so long and truth be told he was not even being his true self right now. It was too risky to be who he was inside his facade and what even lie deeper was not something that often got out, not until he met Celeste at least. She had managed to worm her way past all his barriers.

They soon pulled up outside the quaint shop and Xander took his leave from the wagon, moving around to stand and look up at his driver again how he had when she had first picked him up. The shop behind him was where he needed to be and he was unsure how to say goodbye. Many people like her he would never see again, they travelled and moved around, often never being seen in the same place twice. She had been good to him and he did in truth wish to see her again and learn more about her intriguing past, who this lover had been.

So, unexpectedly, he extended her a verbal invitation. "If you are ever in Krome or around this area again, my fiance's home is the Astedia estate. You should come by and say hello, of course be wary that you may be met by some guards, just tell them my name and they will likely grant you access or check with me." He nodded and then stepped back from the wagon. "Happy travels Miss Hydranic, I hope to see you again.

Jojha looked over the man with kind eyes. He had been nothing but good company for her. Maybe she had been rowdy throughout their short encounter, but Xander had kind enough to put up with her. He had been a good sport, and something she might of even called a friend, if she had known him better. She knew how low the chances were for ever seeing the man again, almost non existent. However, she knew life was never that simple. If anything she'd see the man again, may it be in a battle, or a friendly talk. Whatever it was Jojha was looking forward it.

Her eyes suddenly lifted themselves up as she was given the invitation. It was unexpected to say the least. The fact that a noble had just given her a place of sanction, was enough to surprise most. It only hardened her views that Xander wasn't like most. He was kind, and appeared to be someone who'd treat people by how they treated him, not by status. It was a trait that made Jojha have a great deal of respect for the man. It was a good thing to have, usually giving one more allies than enemies, in her experience anyway.

"Thank you Xander, it means a lot. I guess I'll have to make an effort to return then."She chuckled smiling at the man. "I wish you a happy time with your fiancé, hold onto her and that feeling my friend. Protect her and take care of yourself, for my sake." Jojha then wrapped her scarf over her mouth once more. Waving to the man she started to move once again, she only hoped Xander would take her advice to heart. She knew what it was like to loose that feeling, and she wished that feeling on no one. It was something that could crush the soul, and strip someone of their humanity if they weren't careful.

Looking away from Xander, she looked onto the path in front of her. She let her mind drift like a piece of shipwreck, out in the harsh ocean. Her thoughts then raised and fell like mighty waves crushing down on pitiful sailor boats. Adventure and new life awaited for her, something she was lusting for.

Overview:

General comments.
I really enjoyed this thread - you had some social stuff, some meet and greet and then a bit of action too! I liked especially how well you both played your characters and maintained them seeing things from their own viewpoint.
One point I would make is to suggest that you proof read posts. Jojha, there are a few examples in here where you seem to use a full stop when it should be a comma. An example might be:
"With her thoughts acting like the waves. Growing big only to crash in on themselves, while some on grew a few inches high before sinking into nothing. Jojha made her way through the streets, aimlessly."
Consider just giving another proof read in order to ensure that you pick up on these sorts of things, as there are a few examples scattered around your work.
All in all, though, a nice story and I hope to see more of the interaction between the two of you ~ there is a definite sense here that the two could become friends. I hope so!

Please do PM me if you think I've missed anything or you have any questions!
