Appearance: Brumblewurt is a unique plant in appearance; it boasts a bright red coloration in direct contrast to the environment it grows in. The flora is of a small variety, and can be found in an abundance of places outside Viden. Due to their bright red hue; animals of various species are attracted to them not only for their sweet scent, but because of their obvious appearance. They are roughly the size of apples, and when ripe have a taste similar to wine. When they are not ripe (During the hot cycle) they have a bitter-sweet taste, and scent. These plants are known to sprout from the frozen ground, and root themselves beneath the sheets of ice.
These roots are so incredibly dense, hard, and durable with a high flexibility capacity. The roots are actually composed of a wood. The wood erects only from the roots of these plants, but more often than not they are deeply rooted in permafrost. Thus they are difficult to access, and require competent herbalism to harvest from the ground. The wood can be used to make weapons of various types. There are several unique properties about brumblewart. Firstly, they have an exterior so dense, and thick that they have become entirely cold-proof. Their seeds gestate deep within the confides of permafrost, and the reason for their coloration is so that they can be eaten. They are only spread, and grown as a direct result of being fertilized within the gut of another animal. Which offers an explanation as to why they are so brightly colored.
