Name: Eminence
After a soul has grown powerful enough, it begins to develop a connection with certain Concepts expressed throughout that individual’s lifetime within Idalos, or meditation. Spirits feed upon these Concepts, and create phenomena to encourage them to happen. Over a long period of exposure, meditation, intent, and a bond to these phenomena, an individual may begin to garner interest from a powerful spirit called an Induk, thus potentially becoming an Eminary.
Borrowing a singular Concept from an Induk, an Eminary is able to invoke certain abilities based on the belief others have in them and their Concept closely associated with themselves. They become capable of tapping into that Intent beings within Idalos have, and devoting actions towards their Induk Sponsor, thus making both the mortal and the spirit stronger.
Initiation
An Eminary must have a soul that is spiritually powerful. To achieve the level of spirituality needed, the requirement is expertise in Meditation, and they must understand fully the Concept they wish to take into their being. Only then will they receive 'the Call' by an Induk of that Concept. This can take an entire season of regular meditation upon that Concept.
The candidate must be so attuned to their Concept that the Induk can feed off of them a small amount through passive Intent alone. Once they wander to the territory of that Induk and begin to meditate, the prospective Eminary will be briefly possessed; the length of time for this possession is usually brief, but the Induk will explore the mind of a prospective Eminary to see if they truly harbor a total alignment to their Concept. Failing this initiation will make an Induk cold, hostile or uncaring towards an individual, potentially harming them, mutating them, or making them fall into a coma in more extreme cases.
The process of initiation forms a symbiotic bond with their Induk, and when the Eminary passes on to the afterlife, the Induk takes all of their amassed Intent. An Induk is not like an Immortal; it will never intervene to assist you unless you are within its territory, and it is merely using you to gain Intent and thus grow. Most Induk see Eminaries as nothing more than low-ranking Anak and they will attempt to boss around an Eminary through the Call, telling a meditating Eminary with visions of where to go, to assist in the proliferation of the Induk's concept or even call them to defend their territory from mages preying upon the spirits within.
Progression
Devotion is needed to progress Eminence, it does not traditionally follow the skill system. This is acquired either through active temples to yourself in major cities or fame/infamy (both seasonal) or acts of devotion from other Player Characters who log the devotion to you on their character sheets. An Eminary should work with a Prophet to create a list of actions other PC’s can do that will provide to themselves Devotion, but the PC’s must dedicate the action to them shortly before or after or the Intent will not find them.
Each active temple earns +25 Devotion per season.
Each tier of fame/infamy after Neutral yields +10 Devotion per season.
Not all can become an Eminary. Those with a Spark cannot become an Eminary and those Eminaries who take the Spark into themselves would feel a deep spiritual pain as the Spark shreds their connection to the Induk. Similarly, the Concepts of a Mortalborn will interfere with an Induk attempting to resonate with the soul of a prospective Eminary. Anything with a mortal soul can become an Eminary, including sapient undead such as Wisps or powerful ghosts and phantoms.
Risks & Dangers
Eminaries are first and foremost at risk of manipulation by the Domain Magic of Pact, which becomes capable of influencing them to a degree, as a Spirit has become closely in tune with their Induk sponsor. Most Eminaries actively work to rid the world of these adversaries, often enlisting followers to do the job for them.
Having become a mix between Spirit and mortal soul, they also find it hard to disobey powerful spirits that share their Concept, such as an Immortal with dominion over the Concept they’ve Bridged, or an Induk. All Eminaries feel a natural respect for Induk and Immortals regardless, even if they have a domain opposite to the Eminary’s Concept.
As an Eminary accumulates Devotion, they will begin to develop banes in a similar vein to Domain Magic users, and their body and soul may suffer from overuse of their abilities. These mutations do not yield extra powers or abilities, they are entirely visual and psychological representations of an Induk concept slowly mutating the soul of an Eminary. They happen once for every three abilities unlocked, with the first occurring at 100 Devotion, and a Sev'ryn familiar will also share in them.
If an Eminary begins to acquire more Devotion than their soul can sustain, (1000+) they will slowly start to think like their Concept, having new mannerisms and preferences. Their personality will begin to change, and in some ways they will act like an Immortal or Induk even if they themselves are not as powerful as one due to the limitations of their soul.

You, the Eminary, also have the ability, can hear the prayers of your blessed followers while meditating, knowing where they are when this happens. Inversely, an Eminary is capable of cursing another with their Concept for the same price, afflicting them with a prophet-developed malady.

They can willingly sever Intent from themselves to create grand phenomena related to their concept, or infuse it into objects that begin to display curious traits.
