APPEARANCE
Image
Pretty as the finest piece of art, Danielle Tobelle has been turning heads for quite some time. To say pretty may be a bit of an understatement, all things considered. The looks of her Qi’ora mother are prominent and perfectly accompanied by her father’s heritage. Her skin is a soft tan, often compared to the hide of a doe. She is a woman of average height at roughly five feet and six inches. It is not for lack of trying, though. She’s partaken in some outrageous trends for the hell of attempting to look taller. A noticeable feature, aside from the height she was robbed of, are her hands. They’re larger than one would expect, though not to the same size as a man of her height. Her fingers are long and slender, as well, deft and skilled. Her hands are an expressive part of her, giving up what her face may not. As someone with quite the temper, one might expect her to be a good bit more muscular than she is. Danielle is slender woman, endowed with voluptuous curves. She’s lived a comfortable life, for the most part, and it does tend to show on her frame. Her posture is also another indicator of this, straight-backed and upright. In more recent times, she has taken to slouching to seem less noticeable, but slips back into old habits without much thought.

Danielle’s face is ovoid in shape, with soft, full features. It was only a little while ago that she still had people remarking on her baby cheeks, much fuller than the rest of her face. Thankfully, she has grown out of it. Her eyes, somewhat unevenly spaced, are round, somewhat almond like in shape. The color of them is often changed in different lights, but are generally perceived to be brown. They are sometimes so brown that they may be considered black. Between them is a somewhat small, button nose. It is, however, slightly upturned. Just below it is a set of full lips, though her bottom lip is a little fuller than the top. They’re a nice pink color, to be sure. However, the feature that draws most attention would be her freckles. Little flecks of color darker than her skin, scattered over her cheeks and nose. Her mother would joke of them being seedling blessings, but the days for such jokes being believed have ended. Still, one would say her face is decidedly pleasant to look at.

Framing this used to be long, dark hair. Straightened through laborious hours with combs and heated metals, Danielle use to have magnificent locks that reached down to her chest. However, in recent times, she has opted for a curly halo. The thick crown is quite the sight, though she believes it makes her look more mature. Or, at least she had when she cared for those things. It’s soft to the touch and evokes a need to run one’s hands through her hair for extended periods of time. Her tresses are, for the most part, a raven black that in some lights may almost look blue. Once she might have taken excellent care of it, but recent trials have not been all too favorable for her to be so concerned about it.

If you had known Danielle an arc ago, one might dare say that her voice had a certain way about it. High and breathy, not quite soprano; it was pleasant. Now, it rattles with her exhaustion, hoarse and mirthless. Her speech patterns remain and she takes a slower approach to her words, careful and decisive. There appears to be no change of octave in different groups, although it would be hard to say if she hardly speaks as she does in these last few seasons. Most could sit and be entertained by it for breaks on end, but few are gifted with the vestiges of it as of late.

  • Arrow Wound Danielle has had her wound properly treated, but the damage was fairly extensive. She will maintain a limp for the remainder of this season and next and only shake it if she avoids injury and extreme stress to that leg during such time. A nasty scar will remain as a reminder.

PERSONALITY
Image
There’s a visible difference to the Danielle of arcs ago and now. A once lively girl that emulated and revered her father, she is but a shell of this. She has become closed off, less trusting. Where she would once become an avid conversant with whoever was in a room, she remains to the side and keeps quiet. It’s not to say that she is scared of people, but more so that she doesn’t know who she can trust. As much as her father loved the sea, it was not often that she was brought along with him. And this leaves many places strange and new to her, even if she might have learned of them from her tutor. Her father’s teachings had left her wary of outsiders, but now she is one, and thus she must be wary of everyone. Perhaps when she does develop trust for another, they might see a fragment of her former self.

Something is to be said of the way Danielle behaves. It’s...sometimes unsavory. There are moments when you can see a form of desperation in her eyes. Her goals are paramount, and she makes this very clear. In fact, one would be wrong in saying she would do just about anything to see her goals met. It’s a dangerous game to come between she and her objectives. That strong-willed nature of hers has turned into something ruthless and cold. She may very well be cruel, but she doesn’t quite care at this point. What does matter is that she returns home with her family complete. Her previous protectiveness is reserved for a select few, those within her sphere of trust and care. Not many can find themselves in that in recent times. In fact, it’s small enough for her to count on one hand. Some people won’t be so pleased by this.

Danielle is smart. She’s far from a genius, but she’s crafty enough. She could certainly pull together some serious thought if she put her mind to it, as well. In times of old, she might have fancied herself a show-off when it came to her displays of knowledge and know-how. However, her intelligence has served her well in recent trials. Her problems would be much greater if she were half as smart as she is. She knows this well enough, and has utilized her intelligence to the fullest potential. Because she’ll need to be smart if she wants to get home in one piece.

Among the traits inherited from her father is her temper. Danielle could do well to be a careful with her temper, but once the fuse is lit, there’s no telling what she’ll do. Before, she might have had someone to keep her in check, but now is different. There is no one to calm her, to talk her down. One might imagine that this can lead to a slew of problems, especially with how on edge she has been as of late. It’s been difficult thus far for her to navigate offensive interaction without that external influence reminding her of the situation.

Mental State
As one might expect, Danielle is not well. Her coping styles have not been the most healthy and thus, it has reflected much on her mental health. There is, however, one condition that has been long held since childhood. Commonly known as Erotomania, it is a delusional disorder in which the affected party believes another person is in love with them despite any evidence that would state otherwise. The cause of these delusions are unknown as of yet, and Danielle has not had this disorder manifest in its full force. The disorder may present behaviors that include stalking, violent action towards those perceived to be in the way of the affected party’s love, and attempts to make contact in any way, shape, or form.

HISTORY
Image Edward Tobelle had many wives, all of whom blessed him at one point or another with children. Danielle’s mother was no different. As a merchant. Edward found himself in any number of cities and he just so happened to be in the right one to meet Nene. She was not deterred by the wives he had already acquired and moved into their ranks with ease. The result of this was Danielle, a daughter so treasured Edward would go on to name a ship after her.

In her early years, Edward saw it right to adopt Narav. Danielle never bothered to ask the story behind this decision in later years, because she found that it did not matter. They soon became close enough that he might as well been her blood brother. They spent trials and arcs playing knight and bandit, to which she would always be the bandit to his knight. They were tutored by the same weathered old man with the grand tales of the world. They shared in the affection given by Edward. As it was, Danielle had taken to being quite protective of the boy, despite the fact that he was a few arcs her senior. She didn’t seem to care. Where she was talkative, he was shy, so she saw it as her duty to watch out for him.

Exposure to the seas and the life of a merchant were bestowed upon her early. Danielle may not have come with Edward on every voyage, but the tales he told were enough to make her feel like she had. If not playing with her siblings, she would be by his side. It was here that she became accustomed to more of the land based operations of Edward’s seedling empire. She would often accompany her father as he negotiated deals and plotted out courses for the ships. She may not have fully understood them in her younger arcs, but she felt a swell of pride knowing that she could be of help to him if she learned the skills of a merchant.

And when Danielle was not with her siblings or father, or even her many mothers, she was surrounded by the quiet of the earth. Or, at one point, the song of a dozen or so birds. She found she could do her best thinking in these environments, even with the noise of a dozen songbirds. However, her thoughts of being a merchant like her father were not to be found here in recent arcs.

The introduction between she and her knightly suitor was done on the part of one of her mothers. Edward felt it was a justified choice, and so it was that she was courting a knight from Rynmere. Danielle was overjoyed, but she was not displeased, either. She’d been filled with enough talk about them from Narav’s childhood fascination with them. She couldn’t deny fancying herself quite the bandit, though. But that was a different matter altogether.

Edward, a little over an arc ago, had both she and Narav join him on a voyage to several cities. Danielle jumped at this opportunity, seeing as it may very well be the last time she could be taken on such a trip before an imminent engagement was declared. She did not know what their cargo was, but it had to be important because they were attacked. Danielle had heard time and time again of pirates attempted to sink any one of Edward’s small fleet, only to meet bitter defeat and find themselves under the waves. She had expected this time to be no different. But they came with a storm to cover them, giving them the upper hand.

The Dancer was engulfed in flames. Her father sent she and Narav to a raft, instructing them to get to safety. She made it, Narav did not. Nor did she see her father. The ship burned and she was alone, shivering and weeping. When she reached the shore, she burned as the ship did with fever. Nameless to those on the coast, she was cared for and then turned out on the streets like a dog.

Affording travel was a difficult task. One she had worked around. The crew of the ship she had stowed away on had only found her when they were close to port. Once more being thrown into the sea, she swam to the pier and began her search for her family. It was her hope that Edward and Narav had survived and were simply waiting for her to return home. But thus far, the chances have seemed slim and the road has not been kind to her.

Starter Quest
Blood is thicker than water. Although hope seems scarce, you still search for your brother and father. Recently, you encountered a traveler that told a story depicting your brother. Although you were unable to get close enough to him to pry more information, your hopes that Narav is out there have been renewed. Do you seek your brother out or do you dismiss this a ghost story? Afterall, who could have survived the ocean's treachery...

age: 3 arcs
gender: male
acquired through traveler’s package ( black hawk-eagle )

Maximus is...quite proud. He tends to show off in the presence of females of any race or species, Danielle being no exception. This does mean, however, that he tends to disregard her orders in favor of what might make him look more appealing. And getting him to follow direction takes a good deal of patience, which Danielle is not known for. Her outbursts seem to lead him to further disregard her commands, more inclined to ignore her. And, that just leads to an angrier Danielle.
