HOUSING:

Housing is available in the outer perimeters of the city, beyond the safety of the walls, to start. If chosen to be a starting house, it is assumed to be one of the adobe structures, which will make it more resistant to fire damage. If you are moving into Etzos, and wish to buy a permanent housing unit that is the same as those in the "City Dweller" package, it is considered Wealth Tier 5, and will be an adobe structure, situated in the outer perimeter.

Anyone that decides to rent, including those that have cashed out their starting home money, have the choice of an adobe structure at Wealth Tier 5 per season, or a wooden one at Wealth Tier 4. Like a permanent purchased home, this rented structure is identical in specifics to a unit described in the City Dweller's starting pack. This is a 400 sq ft. house, which include one bed, two chairs, one table, two knives, a set of six plates (assorted), one chest, and a fireplace.

One simply posts in the "Office of the Citizen’s Committee" forum, asking the Housing NPC, Kelleen Mora, to find them a place to rent. I will then post a response with the information they need to follow up this request; either by simply telling them what they are provided with, or, in special cases, linking them to a thread where the matter is worked out in greater detail.

It is important for a player to designate which quarter of the Outer Perimeter housing they choose, NE, NW, SE or SW, as it may be directly affected by the incursion of enemies as future plots unfold. If a PC’s home is destroyed in an moderated attack, the Citizen’s Committee will compensate the player with either a waiver of that season’s rental fee, or a new location. With an adobe structure, it is possible that the structure itself may still be standing after a moderated attack, but all the furnishings inside may be destroyed. Only the listed starting items will be replaced in this event.

When a PC has shown one year’s loyalty, in real time, to the city, they have the option to upgrade to a more protected unit within a safer area, inside the city wall, in the Commercial Ring. These units will be more costly, but better furnished and under no such danger of destruction, outside of a major attack on the city. If you have cause to believe your PC could persuade Etzos' officials to waive this one-year wait on an inner housing unit, you are free to present your case to the city moderator. Not only are they under no obligation to grant this, but it will likely require Wealth Tier 6 or higher for such housing.

There may be other perks or setbacks in the future as well, depending, again, on the evil schemes of the Etzori’s enemies.

Employment:

Employment is also found by posting on the same "Office of the Citizen’s Committee" forum. These requests are handled by the Employment NPC, Peter Mead, and should be posted separately from any housing requests. This NPC will then direct the player to visit a different NPC in pursuit of this employment. This will correspond to a link to a thread where the follow-up interview with the shop owner occurs. Employment decisions will be based equally upon what the PC claims to be looking for, as well as what the NPC considers them qualified for. A player may not always start where they hoped, but a cooperative and appreciative attitude is the surest way to obtain one’s eventual goal.

Players will need to be competent in the appropriate skill to get a job at the listed scale for that profession. There will be an apprentice rate, for those who are still at Novice level, that is approximately half that pay. Those who wish to start their own business need to read through the Character Businesses Section. There are prerequisites to be observed before a PC will be granted a business of their own.

If you qualify for a job, but there is no obvious location existing to accommodate the requested vocation, one will be generated as quickly as possible. Please be patient in this respect, as the moderator has many other tasks to see to. If you wish to do a write-up of your own for a suitable location, this will be a welcome shortcut, but it will still need to be approved.

Other Matters:

Any other odd requests will be handled through the Guidance NPC, Marlin Tagley, at the same "Office of the Citizen's Committee". I am not going to try listing what details this may entail. I have no doubt there would be a number of concerns that would not occur to me if I did. We will sort that out at the time.

At any rate these are done the same way, by posting the start of an interview with the "Guidance" NPC and following up on his response.

If you are moving into Etzos, and wish to buy a permanent housing unit that is the same as those in the "City Dweller" package, it will cost the same 250gn, and will be an adobe structure, situated in the outer perimeter.

Anyone that decides to rent, including those that have cashed out their starting home money, have the choice of an adobe structure at 60gn per season, or a wooden one at 40gn. Like a permanent purchased home, this rented structure is identical in specifics to a unit described in the City Dweller's starting pack. This is a 400 sq ft. house, which include one bed, two chairs, one table, two knives, a set of six plates (assorted), one chest, and a fireplace.
