1st of Cylus 717

Nights were restless, and hardly slept through; while the trials were long and filled with sweat from hard work. Cylus was the most brutal season of them all, and it drove off all of the large prey not to mention it blanketed the plants in thick layers of snow. The end of Cylus was far more brutal; the ground remained wet for several trials afterward. With a freshly hand-rolled ball of mint in between his lip and gum Sky set out. Under normal circumstances he would have used this particular trial to rest his muscles from the several days of previous hard work. He hardly consumed enough food to sustain his energy, but drew upon what little he still had. The Savage paced himself through the wilds unarmed this time rather than being prepared for battle. Why prepare when he had nothing to hunt; a few trials ago bandits heavily migrated through the area. As a result of all the movement the prey animals scattered and relocated themselves further from his home.

As per usual he was hardly clothed, clad in nothing beyond his thick Korowai, Loincloth, and Boar-hide poorly made shoes. He did not carry his mere-club, nor did he carry the knife he stole a few trials ago, not a single arrow nor his long-bow. Aomaru would be his weapon today, and his guardian if he needed to be guarded. The Savage lacked the muscular structure to fight off an opponent that attacked him unarmed. However, in the past his Korowai did prove to stop majority of the force from an arrow or projectile if it came his way. Therefore it would be his only form of bodily protection, and it provided quite a bit of warmth in the cool winds.

He paced himself, and with the mandrill alongside him only to speak aloud to the Ape in order to direct its movements. “In front.” Aomaru nodded and raced forward on all fours as to guide Sky wherever it was that they went. The Mandrill had a tendency to be disobedient, but when he was obedient the beast became a powerful tool. The Trial was still young, and Sky did not know much about the amount of light he had. However, in this case he made a poor attempt to judge using his hands. With his right hand he gestured his palm over the large bright orb in the sky. He blocked out the light temporarily from his visage, and using his left hand he started to count. “One hand, Two hands, Three Hands, Four hands.” Four hands, and Sky logically thought that hands represented breaks. The trial was never long during cylus, and nightfall came quickly. Thick brush, and a thick layer of fog were what was ahead of him, and Aomaru headed toward it. That was their next destination, but it was outside of his territory; however he did not mind killing and conquering lands outside of his own.

While he was near his own home; he certainly was not in any area that he knew the moment he began to notice the loss of visibility. The loss of visibility was temporary, and the moment he entered the more centralized location the fog dissipated. However, there were several oddities about the area; such as the fact that he could have sworn it was far brighter outside of this area than within. The Tree-tops were so dense and thick here that they projected an incredibly dark shade. He heard sounds from each and every direction, and not only was he confused but Aomaru had been too.

They both turned in circles several times in order to observe what wen ton around them. Howls, growls and even footsteps were heard both in front of him, behind him, to the left of him, and to the right of him. The moment he stopped looking in one direction the noises moved to the other. Extreme paranoia took place within mere trills. What was it that he would encounter?

Not many people ventured in the dark forest; especially during Cylus. Death and heavy fog loomed around the area which acted almost like a natural protectant for whoever rested inside. Beneficial due to the lack of bandits during the arcs but presenting more troubles too. Large prey generally ventured away from the dense area which left Storm to hunt outside her territory more often during Cylus. It had been a struggle altogether; the Naerikk not being raised solely to fend in the wild like most species. However killing was pleasurable enough to keep her driving forward in hunting during tough conditions. That along with an Ocelot who typically expressed the frustration of hunger with loud mewling; threatening to bring attention to her peaceful home.

The trial ticked away bits by bits while Storm lazed about. A small storage of food remained in her makeshift hut, the amount enough to feed two mouths for a few chilly trials. The brutal winds were lessened by the thick trees but temperatures still cut deep into the skin of anyone. Dressed in only her leather greaves, unkempt fur top, and shoes. If the usual temperature of her body wasn’t low it would be reasonable to say she’d freeze to death during Cylus. Goosebumps did raise along her pale skin though. Attention currently pinned on the small fire that provided minimal heat, Storm held her palms over the open flame. However a soft growling turned Storm’s eyes toward her companion, Osa. Arched spine indicated the feline was distressed along with the baring of sharp incisors and extended claws. At first Storm began thinking it was just another animal, reaching out in an attempt to calm her. “Osa, calm down.”

Typically the soothing voice was enough to calm Osa; the Ocelot taking hardly any time to settle. However within the next few bits, Osa darted out of the manmade hut and disappeared into the thick bushes surrounding the area. Cursing from annoyance the Naerikk departed the warmth of her hut into the chilly air outside. Her body movements were slow and rigid at first, the cold slowing down her joints ever so slightly. That was a problem with being lazy all day; Storm was slow at starting up. Coming from the crouching position used to exit her hut Storm stood up to her full 5’5” height; arms wrapping around her torso to provide warmth. It wasn’t common for Naerikks to see well in the dark but adapting to the environment after a while of living in the clearing helped. Small columns of light snuck through the dense branches, providing enough exposure to see who was in her territory; the distance making them appear shadowy though. Instantly shivers ran up Storm’s spine in response. It had been ages since seeing another person blantly enter her lands. Thoughts of it possibly being a bandit crossed her mind but that assumption didn’t set well in her stomach. Bandits were rare occurrences this far into her twisted forest; especially during the brutal seasons. Besides, one of the two figures looked too short for being a bandit; at least in a stereotypical sense.

Not moving forward yet to greet the intruders, Storm remained silent. The distance strained her eyes but it was normal to make some assumptions now taken a few bits passed. The blobbed shadows moved around in a circle that amused Storm. It was safe for her to think that these two were new altogether to the forest area; unable to handle the heightened noises and atmospheric shift without panicking. Granted, Storm would have been the same if she was not one with shadows herself. Nonetheless, Storm had more knowledge of this particular territory if something were to happen.

Deciding it was probably best to break from her silence, Storm stepped forward with caution. “You’ll never catch the maker of such sounds but you’ll certainly make yourself dizzy.” Taking into account these were intruders, Storm spoke with hesitation along with curiosity. These people entered a forest that generally scared away most. Their bravery was credible to say the least. Ensuring that distance remained between the couple, Storm stopped four paces in front of them. Now being in close distance the slender woman immediately looked toward the towering male; a few trills passing until a smile curved her mouth upwards. Arms remaining folded as to not present an immediate threat, hopefully. It wasn’t like she wanted to fight anything so...appealing. Opening her mouth once more in a small flirtatious attempt while naturally tilting her head as well, gazing at the male; “Shadows putting you on edge, handsome? They rarely bite anyways.”

Another sound from behind him, but this time the sound came in the form of a voice. The voice was feminine, and Sky turned around faster than he ever had before. He was prepared to fight to the death, and make an attempt to escape. However, her choice of words kept him from doing either of those things. She complimented him; despite the fact that he was not the cleanest individual, nor was he very handsome or so he thought. How could she even determine what he looked like from behind anyway; all she should have been able to see was his korowai and lengthy hair. Sky was wrong, and it turned out that she was in front of him. She stood before Aomaru, and himself at a short distance. Within a split-trill Sky made several observations about the woman. She was beautiful, and had hair that he assumed was unnatural in coloration. Sky tilted his head at her the moment she said the shadows rarely chose to bite.

She had a far more interesting body type than majority of the women he had ever seen pass through his territory. She practically radiated fear, and although Sky would never display that he was afraid he felt the hair on the back of his neck stand. Something was wrong with her, and he only assumed that although she did not stand with threatening posture that she would harm him. Was she the witch that the bandits told stories about in the night? The one who dragged her prey into her territory, and tore them asunder only to strip the meat from their bones? Sky wanted to speak, but he found that he could not as if his tongue had vanished. He took a step backward to increase the distance between himself and her. If he needed to run he certainly would make an attempt to escape even if she was faster than him on foot.

“You're the Witch that the bandits speak so highly of. I've heard that you once tore a mans flesh from the bone, and left nothing but a skeleton behind. “
He spoke a single sentence, and then paused before he transitioned into the next one. He hoped that she would not notice how nervous he was, or how his voice cracked between some of his words. Although he was a savage that did not make him dauntless, and fear was what kept him alive. Instincts were powerful weapons at the disposal of every single creature in existence. Sky swallowed his fear, and although the last thing he wanted to do was get closer to her he needed to make an attempt. Brutality was one thing that he did find attractive, but the fact that her hips were so wonderful and wide, her lips so plush and her eyes were so gorgeous did not help.

Sky grasped hold of her by the shoulders and forced her to the ground without hesitation only to land on top of her. These woods belonged to him, and even if he was outside his territory; this territory too would become his. Even if he had to degrade himself to showing his dominance over this woman regardless of the fact that she too was a flesh eating beast. He made sure that when she fell; she would fall backward and land on her rump. However, the moment she did he pushed her all the way down and kissed her forehead in a gentle fashion.

“I'm going to make you one offer, and one offer only. You give me this territory or I will kill you, and take it from you, how does that sound?” The Savage spoke while he grasped a large amount of her hair and gave it a gentle tug while she remained grounded.

Interest peaked further the moment the intruder spun around, revealing his face. It had been a long time since seeing another being in her forest clearing; many fearing the woods enough to avoid it at all costs. Perhaps that was what drew Storm’s attraction at first without any knowledge of his appearance. However blue eyes travelled in a predatory manner once Sky turned, charmed smile still in place. It wasn’t like he was the most handsome man on earth. This intruder held a gruffer appearance though with towering height and broader frame. If they were to fight she’d easily get overpowered, her petite frame having no chance if he barreled into her. Taking caution in keeping distance between them Storm looked down to the second figure; surprised that it wasn’t a man at all but rather a monkey? It was larger than expected and perhaps worried her more than the male intruder. Who in their right mind would keep that as a pet? The charmed smile was replaced with expressions of knit brows and small crinkle of her nose.

“You keep a monkey...as a pet. You also try to become dizzy by catching shadows.” Announcing her thoughts outloud, Storm returned her attention to the man. It was interesting to see the figure take a step back as well, adding into the confusion she experienced. He was the bigger of the two; why was he acting so fearful? Storm had confidence that he could beat her; if she was too clumsy that is. Baffled thoroughly from these actions taken by the intruder, Storm hardly registered how he moved forward again. It was easy to get lost within her complicated thoughts, eyes flickering down his body unintentionally. He was a confusing specimen and daunting nonetheless.

The dialect was hard to understand at first; finding herself focusing to the point of blocking out the noises of her forest. At first her eyebrows drew together in confusion. It sounded like he was slurring in a growl, almost threatening to spit if he were close enough. "A bitch? Bandits speak so highly of a bitch?" Storm questioned in a tone of heavy confusion. Perhaps if she weren't so confused, the Naerikk would have taken more offense to his 'insult'. It wasn't until a few minutes after considering other words that rhythm, and made more sense than bitch, did Storm understand the intruder; amusement replacing confusion. Shortly afterwards Storm grinned devilishly, almost proud of what was stated about her in these rumors. It was not a reputation anyone would want normally but to Storm it was like gaining an honorary badge. The Naerikk was wild when tasting blood; the intruder rekindling fond memories of her few encounters with bandits. While most would attack them based on their raping nature and savagery, Storm attacked for simple reasons; She was hungry. “What am I supposed to accomplish with bones? You cannot eat them!” Almost laughing as if he were joking about a skeleton being left behind; her head was shaking ever so slightly in dismissal. Storm wasn’t the most resourceful which hindered her full potential of surviving by herself. Osa could perhaps chew on bones the next time. Oblivious to his growing courage, Storm rocked slowly on her feet. The chilling temperatures aided in keeping her mind semi-clear but the intruder was distracting. Savage almost in appearance with a large monkey by his side. He was the most interesting thing she ever crossed paths with. Deep down Storm desired to take something so interesting and make it hers; like a crow attracted to shiny objects.

Taking for granted his paranoid actions beforehand Storm relaxed gradually in the situation. He viewed her as a witch, why attack her? It didn’t cross her mind that he was just as brutal until a pressure was asserted on her shoulders. The shoving motion hardly gave Storm any time to react and grab hold of something, anything, to stop gravity from controlling her; the air chuckling at her futile attempts of grabbing it. Hard ground met rounded rump while an overwhelming heat washed over her body. Sky had done exactly what Storm predicted earlier on, her frame being no match to his bigger one. Perhaps if it were not for his next motions, the beaut would have snapped like she did on the unsuspecting bandits. Savage or not, Witch or not, Storm felt a quiver conquer her entire body. This intruder just kissed her forehead--A display that showed more affection than she had received in trials. His lips were heated and gentle. Creating an uncomfortable tightening in her stomach, lips parted to inhale the chilled air to soothe her burning lungs. Briefly, the intimidating woman appeared almost childlike; wide eyes staring at Sky with wonderment and discomfort. Fingers softly dug into the cold ground before uncurling, palms resting flat on the earth. Cold shivers dissolved into a stilled body underneath the savage, his body heat significantly different than her own; coddling her. It seemed in the very moment Storm was as submissive as any other woman.

The offer presented was something that made Storm’s blood boil slowly. Intruder or not, he was attempting at dominating her for land? It was determined then and there that this man was crazy. Keeping a monkey as a pet, wandering into a deadly forest, presenting her with a forehead kiss, and telling her to give him land. “A man like yourself has no use for this territory. How can you properly hunt in a place that mimics sounds to drive you insane? Or focus on one animal while shadows run around to harass you? This land has no interest in being ruled over by anyone other than Naerikk.” Disbelief showed while speaking, making no attempt in wriggling free yet. There was no way Sky could survive in her territory, at least in her viewpoint. It was difficult to deal with the shadows herself and she was bred from them.

Groaning quietly from her locks of silver being pulled, Storm stared into the savage's eyes. Whether it be the forehead kiss or general curiosity over this man certainly spared a fight from breaking out. Instead Storm proceeded to do what she was best at. Hands raising slowly from the ground until they braced against his chest, allowing the discovery of her sharp nails to be felt by him. “Killing me would provide you with land unable to work with by the likes of you. Why would shadows bend to the will of a man? Are you going to attempt at fighting them? You cannot dominant over something that cannot be taken to the ground or stabbed.” Storm talked slowly, taking her time in explaining their situation. Liking it or not, this man had the advantage over her now. Snapping her neck would be considerably easy and Storm was too small for flipping their positions; it seemed to be a pickle for the Naerikk. Allowing a gap of lingering before sliding her hands upwards, quietly enjoying the ridges and bumps of his muscles and scars. Unable to lift her head properly left Storm with only one option in her plans. The feeling of his cloak was odd beneath her slender fingers, soft in texture but thick enough to prevent crumpling manipulation. Nevertheless, Storm pulled him forward with determination. Faces nearly inches from each other while a breathy giggle escaped into the air; hinting that this woman wasn’t exactly normal. Anyone would be squirming now to be free of the intruders tight grasp.

“Tell me your name,” This time Storm taking a different route in speaking, purring into the air. The sheer switch of attitudes was more jarring than the multiple noises surrounding them and trickster shadows darting around. “Or I will just kiss it from you.”

The woman continued to be defiant to his wishes, and all he wanted was for her to surrender the land. He did not care for what excuses she could make, or what reasons she had to drive him away. These wilds were his, and so was her land. Sky felt her grasp hold of his cloak only to pull him in mere inches from her visage. She clearly did not understand what he was there to do; Sky was not interested in her nor the least bit attracted to her. If she did not want to surrender one of two options were available, and the first was to kill her. The second option was something far more simple, and that was to manipulate her using Lethroda.

Perhaps he would try the second option prior to the first; due to the fact that he did not generally harm women nor enjoy it. He wanted to make a deal with her, and attempt to be peaceful before he decided to decapitate her. Yet, the first task was to get her damned face away from his own as she threatened to kiss him. The Savage extended his palm toward her, and coiled his digits around her neck only to tighten his grip slowly. He wanted to asphyxiate her as much as he could, and take advantage of his position even further.

“My name is Sky. Now either you give me these lands, or I will slay you right here. I don't give a damn about what is wrong with this land, I don't care about any excuse you have to make, and I would rather slit my throat than accept your kiss. Now the deal is this, I will take you into my home and you will live with me if I Can take your land. If not I will simply peel the skin off of your body until it is nonexistent, and then eat you raw.”
He concluded his statement and tightened his grip around her throat yet again in order to make sure she understood his point. The Savage was not used to choking someone, and hardly knew how to maintain his grip. With each and every breath they both took he watched as the white wisps exited their lips.

Although the land did seem to carry with it strange sounds, and various other activities that he could come up with no explanation for. He did not care about whether or not he could hunt in her territory, and all he knew was that it would soon belong to him too. Murder was typically what he used lands like her own for; it was a well hidden area where piles of bodies could be stored. However, he theorized that the thick mist that seemed to surround the area was only present in Cylus. Yet, the tree coverage would make it a wonderful spot to be in during the hotter seasons. Despite the fact that he could not work the land he still saw potential in it. Sky closed his eyes and continued to choke the woman for a few more trills while his lethroda aura expanded. It had finally reached her, and he transmitted a single thought to her over, and over again.

“Agree.”
