White wisps of air exited his lips as he pursued his newfound prey; However in this case the prey was no longer an animal. Alexa fled the scene the moment that she took the opportunity to kiss him; despite the fact that he manipulated her into such an action. The Savage hardly believed for a split-trill that he would succeed in the simple task. He hardly had time to think before she shoved him with both her hands simultaneously. Followed by which she took off faster than he had ever seen her run before, and Sky trailed her as closely as possible. Yet, he quickly realized that she started to slow down just as her short-lived run began.

“Alexa! Listen to me.. You cannot run away! Where would you be without me? What would you do?! You will die in those woods alone!” Sky exclaimed at the top of his lungs despite the fact that he had nearly been breathless. He asked the questions in a genuine manner despite the fact that he entered a state of temporary panic. The truth was that she caught his attention the moment that he laid eyes upon her. How could any man resist her beautiful and lengthy hair, plush lips or even those gorgeous eyes of hers? Regardless of the fact that he was a savage; even Sky knew when someone was drop dead gorgeous.

Venom looked on in confusion as the events transpired. In one moment the tribe had been well coordinated, and in the next severed as if they knew nothing of one another. If given the opportunity she would run away, but she knew that she would only be caught as well. Therefore she did nothing, and stood there as everything unfolded. Sky made an effort to catch her and ran as quickly as possible; only to make note of the fact that the further his legs outstretched the more distance he covered. He nearly fell to the ground beneath her; whilst he made an effort to grasp hold of her forearm. If the suggestion method worked once he could certainly do it again right?

The moment his flesh came in contact with her own he felt the gossamer strand of web attach to her again. His mind immediately flooded with thoughts; She was confused but he could determine nothing further. He hardly understood why she kissed him, and although he knew the reason why; he would not dare inform her that he manipulated her into doing so. Skyard practically forced her into doing his bidding; his will became her own in that moment or so he thought. Another suggestion would be necessary to calm her.

Sky took a moment, and inhaled so that he could properly fill his lungs to capacity followed by a slow exhalation as he attempted to concentrate. Just as he had done so he took the same steps as he did to begin with, and gave another suggestion. “Again.” was the only word that he made an attempt to transmit. He hoped that she would not flee the second time if he was successful.

She was running so fast she could hardly breathe. Her legs struck the ground tirelessly, arms pumped at her sides as though her life depended on their labor. The cold Cylus air burned at her lungs as though to punish her the farther she tried to flee. Yet no matter how swiftly she propelled herself through the forest, there was no outrunning the horror and bewilderment that came from what she'd done a mere bit ago: she'd kissed the man she loathed. The reality was inexplicable. No subliminal attraction had ever been present for the man that kidnapped her, held her captive, and somehow managed to both wound and nurture her since he'd found her. Her mind was alive with an endless reel of perplexed and damning thoughts. In another way it was dead, like the over-stimulus had rendered it into a blackout in which she could comprehend little more than the pounding of her heart, the beat of her feet upon the ground, and the sharp sucking sound of air entering her lungs.

Alexa heard his voice at almost the same time she divorced the sound of his footsteps from her own. Her eyes widened. The slow-down from her sprinting could be lended to nothing more than an inability to continue without soon collapsing winded in the snow. She planted herself in place. Her chest rose and fell rapidly with her hands on her hips, back to her pursuer. She swallowed hard. Not even in her current state was there any denying the potent truth in his desperate words. Tala, her wolf familiar, positioned herself at the Burhan girl's side to eye the savage with teeth bared.

"Back off, please," Alexa commanded the wolf through their silent bond in a wavering monotone. The great beast turned her blue eyes about to stare incredulously at the girl's back. "If you attack him, Aomaru will get involved. I don't want that. Go watch Venom." For several trills Tala hesitated before she relented. The black canine slunk away from her side, leaving only captive and captor in each other's immediate company. When Sky's audible breathing became too close she swiveled around with her hand-axe out before her. "Get away from me!" her voice shook, and it would take no mastermind to see the evident fear in her hard expression.

When Sky grasped her she should've struck him dead. She should've painted the innocent white snow beneath them in thick spatters of his blood, let the spray of hacked innards add character to the exterior of nearby trees that stood silently by. Alexa didn't have the same stomach for violence the savage man did. When she found herself in a position where killing her first man was unavoidable, she'd vomited at the very sight of her sin. When bandits plagued the woods she had sooner elected to knock them out rather than resort to Tala's savagery of tooth and claw. So while Sky was busy putting his ethereal hooks deep within her, she was too busy suffering the consequences of an innately kind heart. Her hand-axe drooped from its position of absolute, albeit shaky, position until somehow it was tucked back in her belt. Then, just as before, there came the inkling in which the Burhan girl was powerless to resist.

Her brow tightened and eyes relaxed as they searched his face for a trill or two. Then, without the slow grace in which she'd approached before, the Mixed Blood moved in plant her warm lips upon his. Sky might note there was both a familiar and novel quality to this particular lip-locked compared to the first. Her eyes had closed but this time there was more than the mere connection as a product of his manipulation. This time there was an exploratory trait. Her lips moved softly against his as though to savor his touch and the minty flavor that came with it from his previous breaks of chewing mint leaves. Her left hand's fingers had curled around the string near his throat as though to make pulling him into her an easier task. Perhaps only a few trills had passed since his suggestion. There was no telling how much longer it would last before her free will was entirely bestowed back upon her.

She had commanded the wolf to stand down; Alexa knew very well that Aomaru would not hesitate to finish what he started the day of her capture. She was indeed intelligent, and possessed quite a few of the qualities he needed in a Queen. In an instant she had taken him by surprise yet again, and as her Axe descended and found its way back to her hip she locked lips with him. Her touch was soft, and as her lips impacted hers time and time again Sky did his best to follow her motions. He returned each and every impact only to recall the fact that Venom remained at the scene of the hunt. Obviously she had to be attracted to him in some fashion; especially if her kisses went from being singular to being far more affectionate. However, Venoms presence made him far more aware of the fact that they needed to focus on the task at hand.

No matter how wonderful her gentle touch felt; survival was priority and by far the most important thing they needed to focus on. Sky pulled back from their affections, and grasped hold of her hand in the most soft fashion possible only to lower it from the string around his neck. Followed by which he continued to hold it for a split-trill before he spoke. “We have to finish now, and..... Thank you my Queen. Had you not been here I could've lost my life, and I don't know what I would've done without you.” He voiced as he turned with his back to her, and walked back toward the area where they had freshly slain the two beasts.

“Aomaru, take it.” The Savage commanded his companion, and Aomaru did not hesitate to pick up the larger part of the Bear that had been left behind. The meat was red, and yet did not drip much it was massive, and smelled wonderful. The Liver had been left behind as a result of Alexas “field-dressing”, but it was also Skys favorite organ. The Liver to Sky was comparable to the most delicious treat he thought to be available. Aomaru raised the large organ to his owner, and offered it to him as if it were an appeasement product. Sky would have accepted the offer, but he would not dare eat the meat until they drug the carcasses off to the Cave.

Sky grabbed hold of the drag that Alexa set up on the Bear, and patiently waited for her to follow. They had quite a bit of meat to last them the next few trials, and help them proceed to start the building process. Although Sky knew nothing about construction; He did know one thing and that was what practical shelter consisted of. She did not ask for anything too grand, and nothing out of the ordinary; they needed mud, flexible plants, rocks, and enough wood to maintain a consistent flame. She wanted a softer place to sleep, and Sky did not mind hard work to make an attempt at meeting her every need. If it meant that she would truly follow him; Sky would go as far as to rub her feet if she requested such.

It was Sky this time that cut their kiss short, leaving the Burhan girl to stand back dumbly until reality returned and with it all her distress. Her brow tightened again and the emotions and thoughts swirled around each other in a perpetual cycle of negativity and disbelief. She went to move away from the man but found herself hindered by her hand clutched in his. She swallowed hard. Frustrated tears threatened to well in her eyes without concentrated will. As he spoke to her, thanking her for her affections and her much needed help, he simultaneously implanted something far more damaging in her head: self doubt.

Maybe the savage was onto something. Despite all he'd done to her, she never neglected aiding him when he needed her most. When he collapsed wounded before the very cave in which she was a hostage, the Burhan girl had dragged him safely inside and tended to his injuries. Cruel bandits he squared against in his woods had been riddled by her arrows. A foolhardy ambition of bringing down a bear was not absent her concern and involvement to prevent his certain demise. She swallowed hard. Could it be it was more than kindness that led her to remain begrudgingly at his side? Was there indeed some sort of subliminal attraction or admiration that led her to kiss him not once, but twice despite how sure she was of her hatred for him?

While her mental torment continued she forced herself to be involved in the clean-up. Aomaru had loyally lifted a part of the slain bear along with Venom. Even with four dragging the beast, it would be an arduous task bringing it all the way back to the cave. What's more, to leave the deer behind was a waste that could not stand. She steadied herself. "Tala? Stay with the deer. Once the bear is taken care of I'll be back for it," she explained before taking one of the massive bear paws in her hands. She sighed and looked to the path ahead. "Alright. Let's get this thing back."

Bits, a half break? So self-absorbed was she that she had little clue how long it actually took them to return to the cave. Alexa knew little else to do with the slain animal other than hang it like she would a deer from a tree. With that done, it was time to return once more to the forest where her wolf familiar waited for her. She took the improvised rope drag and jogged off into the twilight without so much as a word to either Ankila member.

When she did return she strung up the deer and set about smoking organs she'd field-dressed with the cave fire. Only after a few bits of complete silence did she address the savage again. "We have enough food now to give us time to build. When the hot cycle starts, more will be less fearful of wandering the woods. We'll have to prepare for that, too."

When they finally arrived at the Cave; Sky had already been exhausted from a combination of the vicious brawl against the Bear, and the lengthy run. The Bear carcass had been brought back first due to the fact that it was the heavier of the two and required a joined effort. The journey back to the cave was short lived, but it felt like an eternity with each and every step numbing his heels. When they finally got the opportunity to rest; Alexa was off again and did not bother to say a single word. Perhaps she had still been confused about the events a moment ago. Sky hardly understood why she did it although he was the one that nigh-forced her into the kiss. Obviously she bore some level of attraction to him, and even a fool could see that. Perhaps she went off to contemplate whether or not such an assumption was true.

Sky did recall that she told the wolf to stay behind, and that it did not follow them to the Cave. She left Tala to go off and guard the kill; Alexa was far more brilliant than he initially thought she had been. Each and every trial that they spent together he learned something new about her. When she returned she spoke of the fact that they had enough food to begin the building process. She was obviously correct, and Sky did not bother to make any objections to her words at all. Venom sat silently alongside Sky as he came to rest upon his rump in a crisscross position; They needed to rest even though the idea was to build right away. His muscles burned and stung as if he had undergone a strenuous exercise routine; which he had without realizing it.

Sky wanted Alexa to join him and rest for a moment so that they could regain their strength. The fire that they left behind still blazed, and although it did not carry the same brightness as it did a few breaks ago it would suffice. Sky stood again, and approached Alexa without hesitation only to deliver an inviting smile to her. A few thrills later he decided to speak “Will you... Relax with me? You worked long and hard today, let us all rest. “ He spoke again as his lethroda aura began to expand toward her as she was in arms reach and act as a transmitter again.

He made an attempt to make her conform to his wishes again this time without the physical contact aspect. As he was inexperienced with the usage of Lethroda he thought that physical contact was the only method, but in this case he was certain that it was not. The touch of her lips earlier had been the most affection he received from any individual in his life including his parents. This time he transmitted a word multiple times; “Yes.” he continued to make the attempt as he concentrated yet again. In this particular case if it worked he would take her over to the side of the cave that he most often slept on and rest in her lap. If it did not work he would simply return to the opposite side, and rest as he typically did.

Venom had done little more than watch all day while the other two labored. As the healer sat beside the savage on the ground, staring into the fire, Alexa could only guess at the thoughts passing through the other woman's head. Ankila had just begun and already was there controversy just among the three of them. For nearly all of Cylus the healer had listened to how the Burhan girl had loathed him. Each time she left the cave she found herself carefully noting where the Mixed Blood had warned her pitfalls intended for their captor existed hidden beneath the snow. Yet today she watched them lock lips twice. It was perhaps for the best the healer elected to say nothing at all. The weight of it all was palpable in the room. Everyone seemed to be meditating on it.

Today was spent. Alexa's body ached from wielding her bow and hauling animal carcasses alongside her new tribe mates. Once she collapsed into her bedskins it would be all over from there, of that much she was sure. At the same time she dreaded the real closing of the day: the breaks she'd spent replaying the day's events on repeat in her head before sleep came, if it ever would. She stood at the mouth of the cave watching the other two as they warmed themselves by the fire. Then, just as she feared, the hermit found his feet and approached her again.

Relax? After everything he figured she might want to relax? Her golden eyes caught Venom staring at them, but as soon as the other woman realized her rubber-necking was caught, she turned back to study the crackling flames before her. Alexa's lips parted to give the inevitable answer. "Fine," was the simple, surprising response that she found herself speaking despite inner protest. The next thing she knew, she was venturing to a half of the cave she rarely cared to step foot in. Her eyes watched Sky skeptically like a doe might a looming predator, her movements cautious until she found herself sitting with her back to the rocky cave wall. Before long he was curled up beneath her, resting in her lap.

Alexa watched him curiously from her position. She studied his face, the fearlessness in which he closed his eyes and fell completely into their innocent touch. It would have been so easy for her to slip free her axe and bury it in his head. All the while his chest rose and fell softly as sleep began to take him. The longer she carefully observed him, the more she began to wonder about him. He was like a child the way he was curled up in her lap, seeking that basic human comfort with a graciousness that came perhaps from someone who might've rarely experienced it. Alexa dared brush a few stray strands on his long black hair from his scarred face. She couldn't help but wonder if anyone had ever loved him. Or if anyone ever would.
