“I’ll make her something pretty. Mommy likes pretty things.” A five year old Avrae found himself saying. As his eyes blinked open, he found himself home. His real home- the little house in Sirothelle he had been born in and spent the first six years of his life.

He was sitting in his parent’s room, which was devoid of furniture except for the table at which he sat- a pottery table. There was a second one, identical, next to it. In front of him was a lump of clay and a small bowl of water. Avrae wasn’t really an artsy person, but, well… he wanted to make his mommy something. His currently very pregnant mommy.

With small hands, Avrae began to try to squash the clay, pressing hard as he could. It made him grunt with effort, the material barely budging. This should be… softer. He thought, pouting cutely at his failed attempt.

It was then that his mother walked into the room. Her long red hair and amber eyes, and the swollen, eight month along belly she had, was a welcome sight. For some reason, looking at her made young Avrae incredibly sad. He got the feeling he hadn’t seen his mother in a very long time. Standing, he ran to her, throwing his arms around her best he could. When he laid his head against her belly, he could feel the baby kicking- his little sister. His heart swelled with love, and his eyes closed, content as his mother brushed her fingers through his hair- the same shade as her own.

“Avvy… Baby, what’s all this?” She asked him, looking at the pottery set up.

Avrae released his mother, taking a step back and giving her a toothy grin. “I’m making you a present.”

Avrae’s mother smiled at him, “That’s nice, Av-” Then, everything changed. Her face contorted in pain, and her hand went to clutch her chest. Giving a pained groan, she reached out to grab the wall as her legs bent, dropping down to her knees.

“M-Mommy?” Avrae asked, eyes going wide. His mother’s own eyes, so like his own, looked up to meet his and Avrae watched as flame appeared, consuming his mother’s body. Her hair blended in, looking like flame itself. “MOM!” Avrae screamed out, throwing his arms up to protect his eyes just as his mother’s flames burst into an explosion.

Only, Avrae didn’t feel the heat as the flames passed over him. Instead, when he opened his eyes, there was no fire, and his mother was gone. Instead, the room was seared black, evidence of the explosion that had occurred. Yet the pottery stand was completely in tact, his work in progress clay still sat there.

There was another big difference- Avrae was no longer six. He was once more twenty five, standing tall in the room. Awkwardly, he ran his fingers through his red hair and moved back to the pottery table, easing back down to sit. Only, as he looked at the piece of clay, his heart ached. His mother was no longer here… Who would he make anything for now?

It was a beautiful day on the Stowe farm today. The birds were chirping, crops growing, and work was being done. 17 year old Lecia was chasing her father through the fields on their homestead, corn stalks and other plants brush against her as she blindly followed. She found her father, Wren, just at the end of the field kneeling down and tending the crops. His smile was relief to her as she fell to embrace him for a moment. She longed to see him again but she didn't quite know why. Surely she had talked to him during breakfast? She had to of. The all had breakfast together every day for as long as she could remember.

But the thing was, she couldn't remember breakfast that day. "Look Lecia, you must remember to dig deep for the best potatoes. They're a root so you'll have to uncover them if you want to reap their harvest." Her father was a great farmer and she wanted to grow up and be successful just like him. The eerie feeling of forgetting breakfast was lost for a moment as she knelt down and dug through the dirt. He told her to dig deep for the best and dig deep she would.

In what felt like only moments Lecia had dug up and removed all the dirt that previously surrounded the small potato plants. She was now in a small ditch, the light in the sky fading from sight. How long had she been digging for? "Father? Are you there?" Her cries went unanswered, something felt wrong again. "Mother?" Nothing.

Lecia hopped out from the hole she had made and pressed on through the fields back towards her home. An eternity might as well have passed before she finally was able to get the cabin back in her sights. But the thing was dark like the sky now was. Why were there no candles lit? Where were her parents? A footstep stomped nearby and Lecia left to investigate the origin of the sound. There! Her father was heading off to check on the chickens. Of course he was. He was always one to work too much and play too little, always wanting to keep the farm in working order.

But her stomach rolled over as something felt out of place. All of a sudden she felt hot and sweaty, her legs shaking beneath her. Her father disappeared into the hen house and moments later the thing lit up like the brightest torch. Then the thing was gone. All of it, Wren included. Only scorched remains were left in the field and on nearby trees as a reminder.

Lecia didn't know what to do, she was scared and alone. So she ran. The night was dark but she did not need her eyes to see. The fields were known like the back of her palm. The scared girl sprinted on in her dirty farmer's garb through the field until she accidentally stumbled onto the hole she had dug earlier. She teetered on the edge of the thing, its size was ten fold larger than she remembered making it. Then her balance was lost and she fell headlong into the darkness below her, eyes closed.

But she never hit the bottom and there was no resounding crash of her impact. The woman found herself face to face with a mirror next to a closed door in a house she had never seen before. The place was much nicer than her own she thought, to her own jealously. To her surprise, she noticed she was wearing a nice black dress that she had only gotten in her 19th arc. The dress was something a little too nice for a simple farm girl so she had never been able to wear it out. Her hair was done just the way she wished she could have it and was even wearing some kohl and lipstain.

A surge of pride coursed through the woman as she looked herself over in the mirror. Normally there would be nobody around to appreciate her looking good for them. Perhaps she could find somebody here though? A quick glance at the door cemented her plans as she knocked on the thing and spoke a few times before entering. "Hello? Is anybody here?"

“Farking piece of Nosgorn shit!” Was the choice of words currently slipping through Avrae’s lips. He was fast at work, pushing and prying at the hard chunk of clay. It wasn’t malleable at all, and the Aukari was growing stupidly frustrated. Only, that was when he realized that there was a reason for the little bowl of water by his pottery wheel.

Hesitating, Avrae dipped his fingers into the water before taking hold of the clay piece. A little more water, a little more muscle, Avrae continued pressing into it. It was… a little easier. Only a little, since he in no way knew what he was doing.

He was distracted from his attempt at pottery by a knock on the door. Slow reflexes made Avrae say nothing until the door opened- revealing a drop dead gorgeous red head. Instinctively, Avrae’s eyes traveled up her body from feet to head, eyeing the fitting black dress. The way her hair was and makeup also caught his attention, a little stunned. He usually didn’t meet such pretty girls. Unless you count Ailluin, but… well, it’s a little hard to lust after a twig.

“Uh…” The male Aukari was a little speechless at first, glancing down at himself. His hair was styled like it usually was, and he wore his favorite leather jacket, but otherwise there wasn’t anything special about his appearance. Unless you counted his clay stained gray hands. Clearing his throat, Avrae looked back up at the woman in front of him. “I am. Name’s Avrae. Avrae Kyric. Sorry for the messy home- I would have cleaned up if I was expecting visitors. Especially a beautiful one like yourself.”

His flirt was matched with a grin. In truth, the charred room was a sorry state, but Avrae was always eager to impress attractive people. “Would you like to join me? Hold on, let me pull out your chair.” He spoke.

Only, he stood a little too quickly, his hand smacking into the bowl of water- which tipped forward- splashing water right onto the crotch of his pants.

“Faldrun’s Farking Fiery Balls~!” Avrae swore again, jumping back from his table. His cheeks burned red as he rubbed at the watery blotch, avoiding Lecia’s gaze.

Well… that wasn’t the most impressive flirting ever.

"Uh... Sard it all. You know what- I'm just gonna..." He was mumbling to himself. Avrae, not scared of nudity, began peeling off his wet pants, tossing them to the side until he stood there in a pair of boxers. Still blushing heavily, he tossed them to the side. When he looked back at Lecia, he had his hands on his hips, almost posing sassily in front of her. With a slight smirk, he shrugged and said simply:

"And that's how I lost my pants."

After pressing the door open Lecia gazed upon a fairly small and rather empty room. Empty save for the red haired man who was currently sitting a table working with some sort of clay, she thought anyway. By her standards Lecia found the man in front of her very..well..handsome, to say the least. His fire red hair was slicked back and his face looked like it should have been chiseled in marble. Lecia found herself without much to say about the man which was a rarity in of itself. There were a lot of red haired men who worked the farms around her little homestead but none look so..attractive to her.

The man clumsily introduced himself to her as Avrae Kyric after a bit of a stumble. She could not blame Avrae either since words were not exactly exiting from her mouth in any particular fashion. Blood rushed to her face upon his compliment and caused her to blush a little more than was possible to hide. A small slap to her own face broke her out of her own senselessness and finally let her spit a name back to him. "I'm Lecia..Lecia Stowe." The woman swallowed a lump in her throat as she took another step into the room. "I'm sorry for barging in on you Mister Kyric..I don't exactly know where I am. And there's no need..your house is lovely compared to my own.." She pushed a few strands of her own red hair out of her face and behind her ear while she continued to survey the man with her bright green eyes.

Avrae had just offered her a seat then and she was about to accept it but..the man never quite made it. He stumbled as he tried to get up from his chair and knocked the bowl of water on the table down onto his own lap. Lecia couldn't help but let out a small giggle at the unfortunate circumstance the man caused himself. Except then she realized something. She was actually actively flirting with the man. The way she couldn't take her eyes off of him, moving her hair out of her face, and..giggling? She never giggled! Needless to say Lecia was getting a little heated with herself at this point. But she was rather affixed on the man for whatever reason and could not bring herself to stop. Even his ridiculous cursing had her lit up like a little girl. "Careful..I hear Faldrun is not too fond of anybody who makes fun of his flaming genitals."

Finally she had managed to get a hold of herself a bit and sauntered over to the table. But it wasn't much longer before things got even more interesting with Avrae. One moment he was standing there cursing about spilling water on his pants and the next moment they were getting discarded and thrown to the floor. So there she was, in a stranger's home, her mouth gaping wide open at the man in his boxers and her eyes could not help but to wander..if only a little.

A few short moments later Lecia shook herself out of the small daze she found herself in. One deep breath and a hard swallow later and some of her composure had finally returned. This was so foreign to her. The man, Avrae, was obviously extremely attractive which did not exactly grant her attraction towards him. But he was also bold, clumsy, and seemed to have a sense of humor. All of these things combined and Lecia decided she very much liked what she could see in front of her. So why not join in?

"Do you always take your pants off the moment you see a pretty lady?" As she approached the table the farm girl ran a few fingers against the grain of the wood before pushing herself up onto the piece of furniture, careful to pick a spot clean of water and clay. "And you're not so bad looking yourself...but tell me. What are you working on in here?" She eyed the man coyly as the words exited her mouth. "And may I join you?"
