She stared down into his eyes and he up into hers. He couldn't break the eye contact, he was stuck looking into her eyes somewhat statue like. He was unable to move like he had been frozen there for standing too long in the cold. But deep down he knew it was not that, it was something else. It was something he had never really felt before, something that stopped him from being able to even speak. He probably would have not been able to move his eyes away from hers had she not let out a soft and sweet giggle. His eyes dropped and stayed down momentarily as he tried to clear his thoughts, he reached for his mediation trying to apply his head clearing methods here.
But all of his progress was taken away in a few trills as his eyes darted up at the touch of her hand. It traced his hair line and brushed his hair behind his ear. His eyes closed briefly as he felt his lip tremor. Her words were intoxicating, the mention of touching her, the idea of it mad him red in the face. Then came the compliments, oh the sweet compliments. He couldn't help but feel proud, the blush began to die with his pride at being a gentleman. It was, however, very quickly returned by her words. She placed them there for a reason, the reason alluded his naive and young mind. He still could not help feeling shy about the act though.
He had barely noticed her hand now resting on his chest, he looked down at it nervously, his breath catching slightly. He looked up again and her eyes were closed. Her head cocked slightly and moving towards him. His eyes remained open as he struggled to decide what to do. It was clear now she intended to kiss him and part of him wished for it to happen, but how does one kiss. He had never done it before, never kissed another person. His eyes began to drift closed too, he could see that that was a part of it as hers had begun to do the same. His head tilted slightly as he waited for what would come next.
Instead he felt her remove her hand and a small gust of wind as she moved back. His eyes ssnapped open, looking to see what was happening. He felt sort of perturbed by being left standing like that, he felt like a fool for believing someone like her would want him. He looked at her the confusion clear on his face. "See what?" He inquired after her question. Why had she stopped, his mind was a mess, emotions ran wild and his heart was beating double time. Had he done something wrong, was it him that had caused her to change her mind? The questions whizzed around his mind like a tornado as she took off.
He barely managed to move in response to her sudden run. She moved fast, her long legs giving him little chance at keeping up. He tried however, running after her as fast as his legs would carry him. He traced her through the trees following the flowing red gown. It rippled like an ocean as she ran. "Teryani, where are you..." The words stopped and he lost the ability to speak. He felt the world crumble below him as he began to fall, his arms flailing around like he was trying to fly. But they stopped as they felt the warm blanket under them. The vision of the roof of his small lean to came to be as he began to wake from his slumber . One thing remained in his head as he woke, Teryani. The name and the image of the woman that went with it.
