History:

The Cazav have been around since before the Sev'ryn were created; however, at that point they did not have a name. A select few outside of the Cazav believe that some of the Sev'ryn predecessors had managed to come into contact with Lisirra. She manipulated them into her live experiments with promises of resurrection. As long as they assisted her in the creation of her plague, they would forever be in her good graces. She promised the plague would help their people prosper. However, this was not her true intention. It just so happened that the Sev'ryn were resurrected by Moseke and when this occurred, they remembered this promise. Once reborn, these Sev'ryn believed Lisirra to be the true creator of their race. They believed she planned this all along, despite the destruction she caused when she released the plague on the forest. These Sev'ryn created the Cazav in her honor. At the time the Cazav practiced openly and without fear.

The Sev'ryn outside of the Cazav thought them to be crazy but no real hostilities were present between them for quite some time. This did not remain the case. By the 600th arc this group had grown larger than the Oludïbọ Cïkäkkẹn were comfortable with. The growing number of Cazav members lead to an eventual purge in Cylus of arc 620. The Iyäkän, or 'sentencing', is an event that is remembered by a select few and is information not shared lightly. The Iyäkän killed many of the Cazav members, with the few that survived retreating and taking refuge in the temple they made in Lisirra's honor. This purge was one of the most shameful acts that ever took place within Desnind and the Sev'ryn who know of it feel constant guilt about the act.

The Cazav remained hidden from the rest of their race. To protect themselves, they leave their sanctum rarely and initiate few.Few now know that the faction still exists within Desnind and those that do strive to keep it a secret. Occasionally people will go missing in the forest as some of these have been taken by the Cazav for their cruel experiments. The group have remained inside their underground home in the Temple of Lisirra since the Iyäkän. A select few will leave to gather food or travel to find their familiars but most will remain within the temple for the majority of their lives.

Religious affiliations:

The Cazav are closely linked to other Lisirra followers around Idalos by the Serga Mavranu, a religion which is devoted to the worship of Lisirra. The Cazav have always been some of the most extreme followers of this religion. They take the points made on ancient tablets as literal as possible and live their lives as close to what is inscribed as possible. All members of the group must worship the religion and dedicate their lives to serving the religion and Lisirra as well as the group itself. The Serga Mavranu is also the easiest way for the group to send its messages to Sev'ryn around Idalos who wish to join the Cazav. Even though the group associates with the religion and its many members, only those who are Sev'ryn have been allowed to join the Cazav so far.

All members of the group are required to attend at least one group prayer session every 5 trials. They are also expected to be present at all celebrations and festivals devoted to Lisirra.

Branches:

The group has three branches that each focus on a different discipline. These branches were established after the death of Ran'ige. These branches are: Kausaban (education), Alakoso (experiment) and Ọbavi (killer). Each of these branches has a Imọvi (leader) that reports to Abin Arabinrin (Plague Master).

Kausaban:

This branch of the Cazav is mostly reserved for the older and more experienced members of the faction. It falls upon these members to leave their days as researchers or assassins behind them and release their knowledge to the young and upcoming members. There are two sub sections of this branch, first is the Alakoso educators and second the Ọbavi educators. Each group is tutored separately and by different members; there is no cross over in teachers.

Education for the Alakoso is taught by former Alakoso members who are of an age where they are more productive teaching the younger generations than doing research themselves. One of these teachers is Las'regor himself and those who are under his tutoring are some of the most promising of the youngsters. The members of this branch - both students and teachers - wear simple brown robes.

It falls upon these members to continue the work of their predecessors as well as adding to the spectrum of ideas and creations. This is the largest branch of the faction with the majority of its adult members being found here. There are no subdivisions of this group, yet sometimes research groups will naturally form. These groups are not officially organised or mandatory.

The aim of this branch is to develop new diseases and poisons. Members of this branch will spend most of their life working with poisons and diseases, coming up with new theories and creations. Many experiments are conducted daily and every member of this branch is expected to be doing research in order to remain within the Cazav. All members of this branch wear dark olive green robes.

Ọbavi:

This branch of the Cazav is made up mostly by younger and freshly graduated members of the faction. It falls upon these members to work on their skills in assassination and implementation of succeeded experiments from the Alakoso. This is the smallest branch of the faction with the majority of its younger and less academically focused members. The group is split into two small subsections, assassins and insurgent groups.

Assassins work alone but report to a handler, usually a teacher from the Kausaban branch. Every assassin is required to report to their handler following every mission, and when not conducting missions they are to sit in on classes with the students to stop them forgetting any of their crucial training. The assassin position is incredibly select. Assassins wear black robes with a red collar.

Insurgent groups are made of 4 or more people dedicated to releasing new diseases into different environments. This is either to allow study of their effects or to kill off a population for other purposes. This group is the easiest to get into; however, these people are not treated any worse than others openly despite their job being considered 'easy'. The insurgent group members wear completely black robes.

OOC Notes

The Cazav is a faction that is based on science with a fantastical spin. Given that Idalos is considered naive when it comes to science, experimentation in this faction is not designed to be easy. Microscopic organisms that cause disease in the real world are essentially off limits due to the lack of technology in Idalos. This includes viruses, bacteria, and small parasites.

Pathology may come with time and understanding in character for a player. That is not unreasonable. Experimentation within the faction is mostly based on correlation. When something happens that is in favor of the Cazav's goals (e.g. death, disease, etc.), the experiment is repeated on other victims. If the outcome can be repeated over and over again reliably, then it can be considered functional.

Being a part of this faction comes with risks. Working with toxins and diseases that have no background to them can cause the character to suffer from the side-effects, including death if deemed appropriate. We ask that you are reasonable in your efforts as a member of this faction and play based on your skill level.

Abin Arabinrin (Plague Master)- Las'regor:

History: Las'regor was born within the temple of Lisirra and raised to be the leader of the Cazav following the death of his father. His father, Ran'ige, had been the leader of the group since they were founded. He had lead the group as a dictator; there were no ranks or branches and he had been the supreme leader. This was the way the group worked until his death. He was killed by an escaped test subject who had apparently found a way to break free from his restraints. Speculations suggest that somebody had actually freed the test subject on purpose. Las'regor was only seven when this happened. Following his death the group reformed leaving one person as leader but having other high ranks and three branches. His mother, Ani'ro, had died after volunteering to be a test subject in one of his father's experiments when he was around 4 arcs old. Little is known about his mother besides that she was the first subject of the Ibẹẹrẹ Ikarahun (Water Lung) disease which resulted in her death.

Lisirra first took an interest in Las'regor when he was around 10 arcs old. As a child following his parents deaths he had grown quite withdrawn; only seeing his tutors on his own terms. The boy would spend hours and hours in one of the temple's cells experimenting on the rats that lived in the tunnels. His fascination with their deaths was something unequaled by anything else. He felt that he had attempted to understand how death worked and all the mechanisms within their bodies. He would experiment on the creatures with both poison and disease that were carried by certain insects. This morbid fascination and level of intrigue and intelligence quickly caught Lisirra's attention. She was fascinated by his methods of experimentation and how he had crafted them on his own at such a young age. Her intrigue with his possible capabilities in the future lead her to bless him. She wanted to help the boy grow and become more powerful, but this left an unexpected consequence. Following being marked, Las'regor began to grow infatuated with Lisirra. In secret he would dream of them being together. Although he knew these thoughts were inappropriate, it caused him to be completely obedient. He did not pursue her in real life, but, it meant that around her he was not in control of himself and would do anything she asked of him.

Eventually Lisarra picked up on how truly loyal he was, still not knowing of his infatuation, and left him in charge of the Cazav. She expected him to implement all her wishes in the Southern region. She also arranged for him to be initiated into and trained in Rupturing. She wanted him to be able to communicate easily with her, as well as have the ability to travel to Rhakros for important business. To this day he remains the leader of the Cazav, but has had no children to succeed him when he dies. Many worry that this will result in a rush to grab power and/or create a rift in the group. However, Las'regor has already begun searching for his successor. He is just waiting to find the perfect candidate.

He is incredibly skilled with poisons and creating different diseases thanks to his mark from Lisirra. He often gives her credit for his success despite his extensive efforts as an Alakoso prior to being blessed. He is also a very talented Rupturer and uses his skill to create portals between the temple in Desnind and Rhakros. He is an expert at gathering intelligence about new diseases as well as managing, somehow, to always keep up with the happenings of the city. He is a highly respected follower of Lisirra and speaks frequently with her directly as the head of her followers within Desnind.

Las'regor can frequently be found overseeing experiments or tutoring a younger member on the arts of creating poisons and diseases. This has been his role in the group since he gave up experimentation in favour of tutoring and establishing a set layout for the Cazav. In his old age he has become even less active in the experiments and has taken a role in organising the faction and helping in training newer members. He is also in charge of trying to avoiding any inbreeding among the secret group in order to avoid mutated and unhealthy offspring. Las'regor is occasionally seen talking to his familiar in his private chambers. Las’regor’s familiar is a large black rat. The creature has yellow eyes and a long skin pink tail. The creature is unaffected by Lisirra’s plague, the old soul wise and thoughtful. It is a compliment to Las’regor’s experimental mind. He hopes to live to see Lisirra's triumphant return to Desnind and her taking of her rightful place as mother of the Sev'ryn from Moseke.

Ọbavi Imọvi - Adi'ti:

Image[Race: Sev'ryn
Age: 48 arcs
Title: Ọbavi Imọvi (Branch Leader)
Marks: Yithnai, Adored
Familiar: Bat with bee stinger and coloration (Category Two)
Skills:
[columns=3]Poisons: 80
Teaching: 50
Deception: 70
Disguise: 70
Stealth: 70[/columns]

History:Adi'ti was born and raised within the temple of Lisirra. Her mother and father had both been Ọbavi but were teachers for most of her life that she can remember. They, however, did not train her as they believed they could not remain fair or reliable with their training. So she was instead educated by another teacher. He was a master assassin and he taught her everything she knows. She made her first assassination at the age of 18 arcs, and in doing so made a fast start to climbing the ranks. She now holds the position of master assassin and is an accomplished handler.

As a younger person she had always been more wild and energetic, not caring for academia or research. She did, however, find enjoyment and interest in killing, from small insects to larger mammals. She was insatiable, her hunger for blood and death fueled her along the path of the Ọbavi. Here she found a way to learn the arts of biwonninu (killing) and she has used those skills with a mastery beyond that of many. She is now the most revered Ọbavi in the Cazav and is looking for a truly promising student to take under her wing.

Adi'ti is not the most social and definitely not one to make friends. Yet she has an eye for talent and also a hunger for the passion found in more "adult" relationships. She is not one to love and she is likely to treat those who are around her badly, but learning under her would be a great honour for any, especially for an aspiring Ọbavi. Gaining her favour would be difficult, but once gained she would dedicate herself as much as her pupil would to growing their skill. She is never seen talking with her familiar unless someone is spying on her. Adi'ti’s familiar is a bat with the stinger of a bee. The creature's skin and hair is also yellow and black like a bee when she looks upon it. The bat is a younger soul and has been affected by the plague. It is young and adventurous, but it also has a thirst for blood like its counterpart.

Imọvi Alakoso - Min'ida:
Image[/float]Race: Sev'ryn
Age: 60 arcs
Title: Imọvi Alakoso (Branch Leader)
Marks: Yithnai, Adored
Familiar: Owl with cyclops eye and scorpion tail (Category Two)
Skills:
[columns=3]Poisons:80
Teaching: 50
Research: 70
Surgery: 70
Medicine: 70
Chemistry: 60[/columns]

History: Min'ida is somewhat of an outsider, he was not born within the temple nor did he move there until he was 20. His father had traveled around the world and for a short time settled in Rhakros. This was where he had met Min'ida's mother. Little else is known about his father. During his short stay in the city, he managed to cause the woman to become pregnant with Min. The father left quickly after the conception having no want to raise it. Min'ida never met his father and most likely never will, but a part of him still wishes he would walk into the temple one day and see what a man his son had become.

Min'ida's mother raised him in Rhakros to follow the ways and teachings of Lisirra, from a young age learning the tricks of the trade from his mother. She was a well accomplished researcher and he spent a lot of his childhood in her lab watching her work. This was a large influence on his future. Shortly after he turned 19 she died. She had fallen ill from one of her own experiments. With no cure created, she died a slow, bloody, and excruciating death. This left Min'ida truly alone in the world. Nobody knows if it was out of pity for the boy or promise in his abilities, but Lisirra found him and marked him. She told him that he was to go to Desnind, find Abin Arabinrin Las'regor, and join the Cazav.

Upon arrival he found his way to the temple, as had been described to him by a strange man who had been waiting for him at the docks. He had approached Las'regor as instructed, and was taken under wing as a student. The two of them developed a close friendship and although not openly seen Min'ida is one of Las'regor's most trusted advisors. He is now an expert Alakoso and spends the majority of his time conducting experiments.

He does have a soft spot for men, believed to stem from his lack of a father as a child. He is easily susceptible to their charms and he is no stranger to dabbling in homosexual relations too. He is not ashamed of his ambiguous sexual orientation, but he does keep it under wraps, as sharing it openly may stimulate judgement and harassment by others. If someone wants to get on this man's good side it really helps to be male. Although he has been known to occasionally fall to a woman's seductive skills and the possible passions she can offer, his preference remains. He is also drawn by talent. Someone who can match his ability level and help to fuel him in his search for the perfect poison.

When not researching, Min'ida spends time watching those around him. His familiar is a testament to his wisdom, intelligence, and wall-flower nature. Min’ida’s familiar is an owl with only one eye and a scorpion's tail. The creature is reserved and very much focused on growing intellectually; however, it is has a keen sting for those which annoy ithe owl has a natural curiosity and will to learn like Min’ida. If a familiar was capable of killing, this creature's poison could be quite deadly. Thankfully, it leaves the death by poison to its physical counterpart.
